It is rare for me to return to post a 2nd comment on someone’s video; however, the exceptionally excellent quality of this performance deserves it. After first having heard this recording, I listened to many others of this same air. None approached the high quality of musical understanding, sensitivity to text, and beauty of voices of this video. One performance was so inappropriately and badly performed that I actually was shocked.

@jorgecurioso Yes, the whole of this Messiah recording was released on DVD by the ABC - I saw it all the way through a couple of years ago and it's brilliant! You can find it in the online shop through the ABC website (in Australia).

A remarkably fine performance by both singers. Beautiful tone. Focused voices with no heavy vibrato, no sliding or scooping to the high notes. Great musicality and sensitivity. Appropriate vocal ornamentation. Worth hearing many times.

@WagnerFan25 Yes, she is wonderful. If you have the chance, listen to Sylvia McNair sing this piece. Beautiful. And Anne Sofie Von Otter, who sings the mezzo soprano, has an exquisite voice as well.

@grandadpoppyable I concur with you. I wrote to another poster that: I think Sylvia McNair and Anne Sofie Von Otter have the best rendition. However, this is definitely a beautiful version. The next best that I have heard. Both the soprano and mezzo soprano have exquisite voices....gorgeous timbre and no excessive vibrato.

There is nothing wrong with the pitch. The recording was fully compressed to avoid artificial sound interference. The voices and instruments were original. Good work from the sound engineer.
