wow! this is the most amazing video i've ever seen. way better than star wars 3 and not as long either. basically, you summed up the whole starwars 2xtrilogy (silogy? hexilogy? sixogy? stupidogy?nah) in just 1:04 minutes. sort of like... cliff notes, but visual. you should be like, a director or something. maybe you could be famous? can i have your autograph? hahahaha.
on the short side but it was fun to watch. your coreography was impressive...it's not easy to swing a blade around that fast and still hit your mark. all in all I give you 5 stars
Hey Thanks for the feedback everyone! I plan on making a longer and imporved saber fight in the future. Yes with longer sabers and better editing and effects. :D
I love starwars, so this captured my attention. I have to say this was way too short, and not very original material. It was a bit silly to look at. Though for the special effects, you did acheive the look and fight sequence. Maybe apply this effect to a short story, with original material.
Yes I did mean to switch blades completly, not just colors. It's just an easter egg to spice it up. My friend and I had 10 minutes to shoot the fight so we wanted to add a fun twist. :)
The colour change was obvious. I did try slowing down the video to see if the hilts swapped hands but I couldn't see it. Nice video. Check out my 1st Rotoscoping attempt in "Blocking blaster shots with a lightsaber" sometime.
Rotoscoping and choreography was good. Filmography (camera angles and editing) need something more to make it more exciting. Also I learned on mine that proper sabre 'blade' proportions are in order
very nice saber glows and roto-ing. You might try adding some green to your blue saber to give it a more turquoise color that's closer to the real movies. You should make the blades longer too. There's no rule that says they have to be the same length as the props that you're using

Looks very cool, nice moves.
Did you mean to swap blades? At about 54 seconds you guys clash and come out with different colour lightsabers! Doesn't look intentional lol

very good choreography and rotoscoping, what program did u use to make ur light sabers?
samcox89 5 years ago
Adobe After Effects. I highly recommend it compared to the other lightsaber rotoscoping software.

I thought of that when I made this short.
Color:
I'll take into consideration you comments about the blue, I'll experiment some more to get that vibrant look.
Length:
I know what you mean, I actually lengthened the sabers longer than the stunt rods during the conflict but I agree they still could have been longer.
Thanks for the advice!

Great stuff! The rotoscoping was pretty spot on, choreography was good too, would like to have seen more swordplay, though. ;)
