What is the background voice I keep hearing during this song, he keeps saying different things and I can't make out what they are and it's been on every copy of this song I've heard so far.
what i wanna know is why this song sounds so sad i mean robots cant but i guess sense they cyborgs and not robots they can still feel in same way tho in stead of showing it its just a chemical reaction of the brain...... tho motoko's past really makes me cry U_U
This is one of the most beautifully crafted songs I've encountered. The lyrics have extremely deep meaning. It doesn't take over analyzing to understand them, but most importantly to feel them. This song really blankets you in emotion.
This is such a great song. We fritter away our lives, grasping after money, status, possessions, and "success". But too often, we forget the beauty that fills us and surrounds us. We forget what a miracle it is to be human. And hearing the simple wants of a robot really puts things in perspective. Maybe we would be happier if we stopped taking things for granted.
This song really makes me reflect on how humans are more mechanical then human nowadays. We're rushing to make better technology and we rely to much on it.
Then again it makes me sad thinking how robots want to become human or at least share human traits.
I usually don't hear a lot of songs that would make me a bit sad; I congratulate Yoko Kanno and Scott Matthews.
@INEEDANIME If we don't advance in all aspects of life than there's no point in continuing to live. Also computers or "robots" don't want to be human because they lack emotion, we cant even make a bipedal android yet much less an emotionaly depressed, whiny robot. Great song though.
No one knows what makes us human, that's why sci-fi explores ideas such as A.I. It's an abstraction, a kind of thought experiment to try and understand our familiar state by contrasting it with something unfamiliar yet with key elements of our choosing to progress discussion. We've seen our society act hyper-rational before, so "advancement" could potentially just be us capsizing with our own uncontrolled potential.
Lol? Robots want to become human, huh? That's pretty amazing since wanting itself is a human trait. Maybe you're just projecting your own human traits onto inanimate objects? ;)
And this is what separates Yoko from all the generic anime composers. Any composer can make decent background music, some composers can make good background music that can stand alone as good music. But very, very few composers, anime or not, touch the human condition. There are very, very few pieces of music that can make an individual actually thankful to be human and alive.
really can't say how great this song is. by far one of the best songs i've ever heard and truly one that somehow always manage to go deep in your emotions each and every time you listen to it.
That's because this song mentions by word, the experiences of ...this is getting redundant... being a human, both pleasurable and painful, whether or not we have personally experienced it yet. It also helps that it comes with a great melody and a great A-B build and a passionate climax that starts in the middle of the song and builds to the end..
This song tells us that we should appreciate and embrace every feeling we have, even the bad ones, because at least we have them. We have the Miracle's of Life, Love, Pain, and Thought.
I think this song really makes me think about what it does mean to be "human," and how we often think of ourselves as the best thing on Earth, but look at what we do to each other and how we live. I'm not sure if I was a machine, or anything else for that matter, I'd want to be human at all.
i like this song a lot.. i didnt know there was a Be Human soundtrack :P im downloading it right now lol
but either it is such a sad song... reminds me of a robot fantasizing about what his future would be if he was human.. it is sad that he will never be one... such a sad wish
actually they used it once, I remember a scene whee Batou was working out, and they played this sound while Major was making fun of him, that's actually how I found out about this song.
