hey I am a friend of Cancatgreen and want to know if I can change it slightly to make it way way way better so what I want to know is can you leave out the alcohol so it is way way better
@Cordi666 actually it does. Sure alcohol kills it but even without alcohol sugar kills salmonella, hence icing is safe to eat... even though it's just uncooked whites and sugar.
@mojay30 Sugar will NOT Kill salmonella. It will FEED it. Sugar helps to kill SOME bacteria, specifically staphyllococcus aureus (Staph infection) and E.Coli. And even then its only helping an antibiotic kill the bacteria by acting as a booster. It however, provides a food for MANY other bacterias. It is not safe to say "Sugar kills bacteria". Sorry. Theres a reason hand sanitiser has Isopropyl ALCOHOL in it and not sugar.
@mojay30 Also, saying that icing is safe to eat because there are eggs and sugar mixture is ridiculous, Royal Icing has lemon juice, an acid, which kills bacteria and Fondant doesnt even contain eggs, there are also numerous other varieties of icing that do not contain Eggs in them. Seriously do some freaking research.
Its better if you just go with store bought since it's pasturized (meaning it was heated up to kill harmful bacteria then chilled). Its cheaper and more safe ^_^
I like your electric whisker. How many calories we have in a glass???
I love these drinks that keeps you warm in the winter like: Irish coffee - and a Brazilian drink we have for our winter - we use sugar cane, cinnamon, lemon and clove. You should try it. We call "quentao" which means hot.
Interesting, but anyone with any horse sense would do this with a blender and whole eggs. Her recipe is a little too sweet for some people, as you don't need that much sugar for eggnog.

@mojay30 no its not. its not the cooked egg that kills it. it is the heat that would usually cook it. excessive heat kills bacteria. do you research

This woman is an idiot. Salmonella is not a bacteria that develops. Its either there or its not. Ugh.

i wonder how can one make it without adding alcohol
Choco2485 1 year ago
@Choco2485 ...simply omit the alcohol...
squidskunk 1 year ago
Actually, once sugar mixes with raw eggs, the eggs get cooked from the chemicals in sugar... so no worries with salmonella or anything

@mojay30 wrong. heat kills the bacteria. if they are cooked by something other than heat this particular bacteria will not be killed.

Using white sugar is optional in my view.

eggnog is awesome, you pretty much can't buy it in England so we have to make it. Great video! :D

@GreatBritishGamers Why can't you buy eggnog in England? Is it because of salmonella.
MyYummycookie 1 year ago
@MyYummycookie It's just because it not that popular here in england so a lot of the major supermarkets don't stock it
