  • Dude I give you credit for working with a small space, but with what rolling stock you have, I think you need a bigger layout!

  • @LoneSniperSG If you look at my recent videos I've gotten a larger layout now. It's 22 ft long 6 ft wide, 6 parking lane yard, double line main.

  • if i am modeling Washington state what will you recommend 3985 or 4999?

  • OK are you a billionaire! you know how expensive they are!

  • @iqbaln206 no offence

  • just curious. Which do you prefer. The BLI version of the Pacific Daylight or

    the MTH Pacific Daylight? Thanks!

  • @rottiuree definately MTH....beware of BLI. The BLI daylights have super blue headlights and they have lots and lots of mechanical problems.

  • Dear @jlwii2000,

What is your biggest locomotive you have?

    -Thanks!

  • @BTCRAIL101FILMS Biggest diesel is a Bachman DD40AX. Biggest steam is my MTH 4-6-6-4 Challenger #3985

  • @jlwii2000 Not bad, I though you were ganna have a 4-8-8-4 Big boy. But the Challenger is ok, its 3985! :]

  • WOuld it work for a MRC Black Box? I just got one.

  • @GECP4256 I don't think so, but I'm not sure.

  • @jlwii2000 I did see a video of a MTH Little Joe Running with a Black Box. Hmmm.

  • Hello James, happy new year! Just to let you know, I got the same version of the Daylight you have for Christmas!

Only one problem with mine, the fog horn is missing on it. Luckily, the hole for it is there so I could add one. Also, could you show me how you install the front coupler? Or at least find me some info on how to do it? It looks a bit tricky.

  • Is there a way to move the draw bar theres a walk way that goes from the engine to the tender and the tender isn't close enough to the engine. It looks like all i have to do is move the draw bar but i dont know how Any suggestions? also do you know a website where i can find a instruction Manuel or list of the functions on the locomotive i lost my Manuel.

  • @4910CocaCola yeah my draw bar isnt close enough either... mth said theres 2 but mine has 1 hole to connect .

  • do you think that i will have any problem using this engine on my NCE power cab?

  • @cod4daworld It will be fine, your functions will work well.

  • i have a MTH daylight love the thing but all the lights on it are out. any one haveing this problem?

  • @spfilms4449 I'm not having the problem. Make sure that F0 or F5 is not pushed on your DCC controller. Push them again just to check. If you're using a DCS commander be sure to hit the headlight button and run the engine forward.

  • @jlwii2000 what do u use to lubricate your engine?

  • @jlwii2000 would you happen to know the cv list on the daylight ? im trying to change the whistle and i dont know mth cv stuff

  • @southern4501isawesom CV............Description

    1..............Short Address 1-127

    3..............Acceleration Rate 4 smph/sec

    4..............Deceleration Rate 4 smph/sec

17 & 18.....Extended Address (upper bits must be set to 1)

    29............Bits 5 = ext. addr; bit 1 = speed/dir method

49............Short Address (controllers that prohibit addr POM)

50 & 51......Extended Address (controllers that prohibit addr POM)

    55.............Reset - send value = 55 to addr 55

  • When you keep the locomotive in idle, do you here sounds of an oil-fired steam locomotive? Like you don't hear the crewmen say "Get some coal in there" or hear the fireman shovel coal into the firebox.

  • @KingofTomedy no no no u hear "hows the fuel level " as in oil ... then u hear him inject it in the oil then you hear him say fuel number looks good

  • @southern4501isawesom Thank GOODNESS MTH made sure of that. It would've been so embarrassing if you heard the clank of the firebox door and shovel sounds, as well as a crewman say "get some coal in there" on an oil-fired steamer like the Daylight.

  • um wat brand track do u use and also wat radius

  • ez track with 26 on the outside 22 on the inside

  • what website did you get that daylight on?

  • Is this a Kodak Zi8 Pocket camera?

  • no it's a kodak 10mp easyshare camera

  • Comment removed

  • do you have to have that pacific type of controller to control sound engines or can use a bachmann dcc controller

  • Comment removed

  • where did you get it from?

  • thats a cool locomotive dude.

  • thats cool.

  • well.........if it works with NCE, cause i'm not getting any new DCC system for A LONG TIME! if i do....i may get MRC, or digitrax

  • like I said below, it should work for any system it's all about how many functions you can and want to access.

  • mmmm MRC you say?.........mmm......I'll stick with BLI, and if they don't make theres i'll get a MTH one.......and gut it

  • I think any DCC system will work, it's just the more functions you have the more sounds and features you can access on this engine. You can have a basic 3 function system and you'll be able to operate the bell, whistle and headlight and of course speed and direction.

  • MTH is bad to the bone and i like your layout

  • does it work with nce power cab?

  • jlwii2000

Do you have any idea where I might find some Amtrak TALGO coaches?

Also I'm thinkinh about modeling a UP passenger train..

I'd like to keep it under 500 bucks..

    Any suggestions?

  • Talgo cars in HO, there's a Spanish company called "Electrotren" that makes them.

  • IWhen I google it every singe site says that they no longer produce talgo cars...

    *Sobs*

  • I am accepting donations.

  • haha yeah me too!

  • This is going to come off sounding like nit picker, but the two containers in the well car directly behind UP 7511 are backwards. Any ways your SP 4449 is a beautiful machine!

  • Thanks. I pulled them out once and must have put them back in backwards.. Not nitpicky it helps me look more like I know what I'm doing, because I'm a rookie at this.

  • We're all rookies at some thing.

  • At the club I'm with we're running with Digitrax's system, we've found that MRC decoders react funny, also Bachmann decoders can make a locomotive wander off.

  • I don't use MRC decoders I just use their DCC controllers and system.

  • Does it have different postitions on the draw bar? Like can you move the tender closer to the locomotive?

    Thanks

  • No, there is only one hole in the draw bar.

  • That's a nice loco. I might do a product review tonight but I'm not sure.
