  • i love this video, when i'm frustrated or upset i just watch this and it calms me down cuz i think of how I'M an equestrian, i can move a 1500 lb animal around a course, with only my 100 lb self. and i love how you included english saddleseat in here, after over 11 years of training in this division, since i was 6, most people don't even know about it! even tho it was just a brief couple seconds of a clip, i still appreciate ittt<3

  • Hey I have been posting a lot of these commont lately but i just want everyone to know that horsebackriding IS A SPORT. I know it looks like we try to abuse the horses but would you rather see your only child get hurt or killed or the horse get a little scab from the spur. I try not to use the crop or spur much unless they need it. I really can't help but post on the videos like this.

  • awful horse abuse...

  • @doedel234 horse abuse..? how is it horse abuse if the horse CHOOSES to do all of this? you would think that an uncontrollable, unpredictable animal weighing close to a ton, would let you know if this hurts them, or if they don't like it.. don't speak about something you don't know, because you make yourself sound really stupid to people like us who actually know what we're talking about. if any of this hurt them, we wouldn't do it to the creatures we love.

  • @erikacarr88 you can force a horse to do what ever you want by the thread of pain, negative reinforcement, positive punishment etc. horses learn to obey, because by causing them pain through spurs, bits, whips etc. so, horses get a state of mind called "learned helplessness" or some kind of "stockholm syndrom"

your way of arguing shows, that YOU have no real idea of what is going on in horses. but riders allways act the same.you have never seen a horse, trying to refuse, what he should do? hahaa

  • @doedel234 ive actually been riding for my whole life, i love horses and everyone knows spurs aren't even used for pain anymore since they're rounded.. not pointed.. how is any of this pain anyway? horses love to do what they do. whips and the spurs used *NOWADAYS* are for getting them to pay attention to the rider. experianced riders know when a horse is in pain, & if they actually care enough for their horse they stop. and how are bits abusive? are you stupid? or just looking for an arguement?

  • @erikacarr88 i am just stupid. so.

  • Think about it ONE mistake can cause you ur LIFE!!!

  • what program did you use?

  • Thank you, this video is so inspiring - gave me goosebumps

  • LOVEE IT <3

  • That argument between buddysforever23 and you was so dumb. Why argue over a petty little thing, and it was kinda sad that you both had kept the bitching going on for so long!

  • At 0:08 was at myerscough college!!! I studied NC horse management there :) yey :)

  • this was a great video. i really loved how you included western riding to! most people dont think about it...! gooood jobbbb! :)

  • very ture

  • Man do u have it wrong riding horses isnt about any of that shit u talked about riding is about the special bond between horse and rider. If u guys don't see that go take a trail ride with ur horse and let them pick the route cause to them that says alot and just go for the ride let them do what they want. Because if u and ur horse truly have that bond he wont do anything to hurt u and if u dont spend more time with him in the pasture not the arena

  • ...[blinks] Does anybody truly believe that or do I have to explain..?

  • wow u really r blind u dont even deserve to be called a rider there is more to horses than u think and by doing what i told u u grow close to ur horse and u can know how he feels even when blind folded iv been with my horse for 5 years and never had a problem with anything cause i spend most of my time with him in the pasture not the arena or grooming stall

  • Hmm..

So, "teamwork," "passion," "trust," "faith," and "love" have nothing to do with a bond at all? Wow. And I thought I've seen it all..

Yes, I've been with my horse for 8 years, I think I would have a bond with him...

Oh, and do us all a favor and learn how to not use chatspeak? Kay thanks.

  • what is teamwork good for if u dont want anything from ur horse except a couple of blue ribbons i bet u would sell ur horse if u found a price someone was willing to pay or if u saw a grand pix horse that was better u would trade ur horse for him

  • Funny how you decided mention only one of the words I mentioned...

And oh, you are SO right. I'd give up my horse I've had since I was eight years old. I haven't even shown him before.. so how could I only want a blue ribbon? He's been on stall rest for nearly a year and a half, yet I work for six hours every day of the week just to keep him happy?

No, seriously. You make perfect sense. Keep trying with the chatspeak.. Let's try this exercise. Y.O.U. try it with me. YOU. Whoa!

  • hum funny how i run out of room with only one world but then again we do live in a funny messed up world were people dont really understand the true value of animals and other things.

  • Oh look, you have more room now! Go ahead, please explain how "passion" "trust" "faith" and "love" DON'T describe a bond and the understanding of values.

  • Yeah, that's what I thought.

  • o I'm sorry i haven't been able to check email or even get on the internet.

  • it really shows how much talent and hard work it takes to be an equestrian

i mean, people really take us for granted, riding is a sport, and should not be critasized

  • Agreed! :)

  • i am seriously like crying lol

  • i loved it. my favorite part about jumping is that half a second where you deffined gravity. there no felly to describe it !

  • COOLEO LOVE IT

  • 0:33-0:41 i want to try with my horse... i'm pretty sure he can do it. he's ride-able in a halter, does anyone have any tips on riding bridle-less?

  • its pretty simple- have a neck strap for security, hold on with your KNEES (not your hands, so much), nad ask for simple movements first. I suggest using join-up first, though.

  • its fun you will love it lol i ride bare back after school alot with a halter its good for ur balance to :) but hold on with ur legs and not ur hands because u kinda need those lol and just take it slow the first couple of times and let ur horse no wut ur doing and let him get used to it first because my horse was like wut do u want u crazy lady !! lol but we got the hang of it :)

  • this is a wonderful video!!

please can you say me the singher and the name of song because i search this song but i dont find it! =(

( im italian sorry 4 the grammatical error XD)

  • Thanks. The name of the song is "One in a Million" by Miley Cyrus. It's in the "About This Video." too.

  • grazie!!

    =D

  • the horse at 1:34 is named paddy and I have ridden him. He was ridden by kim severson, qualified for the olympics in china, and is WONDERFUL!!!!

  • that horse is off of a movie, hon.

  • i dont get it doesnt the horse do like everything? im not trying to like diss the sport cauz it seems relle cool but doesnt the horse do most of the work? jw...</3

  • not at all. The horses would have no clue what to do without the rider, wouldn't move in the correct ways, etc. Horseriding really is a team sport and it's just as hard for the rider as the horse.

  • no way! If it werent for the rider, the horse wouldn't know what to do. It is so annoying when people think that the riders arent doing anything and its easy..sorry just had to spit that out :)

  • Without horse AND rider it would kinda be like the sun with no sky(If you understand what I mean)without one its nothing.Who is it that looks after the horse?Teaches it new things? It takes years of riding to get things right. You've got to work on things together the horse may be the one jumping but we're the ones kicking it on, when your hurt or your horse is hurt its the other one who trys to care for one another.Riders do more than you think..and im not having a go I'm just giving my opinion

  • No. If there were no trainers, then a horse would never be taught how to be ridden. For example, this goes for jumping: "YOU know the course of jumps, the horse does not."

  • Haha, if only you knew how untrue that is...

  • that video is so true and i love how you added a lot of different disciplines. gorgeous.

  • thanks. :]

  • 3 barrels

    2 hearts
