"Is he smart or is he..." is probably the greatest line of the film Forrest Gump. The legendary chocolate line is of course brilliant but because of the reason that Hanks says here those words just take my breath away every time.

I love Tom Hanks. He has this way of completely embodying every character he plays. I forget that it is this megastar and become entranced. He's certainly one of the greatest actors of our time.

It's hard to watch this and then watch other "actors" on this show like Will Smith or Tom Cruise. There are actors and then there are entertainers. Tom Hanks is an actor. Everyone else is just an entertainer.

I can't understand the criticisms of Forrest Gump. It is a feel good movie with a big heart. Certainly there is a sense of naivete in Gump but he is gentle as a lamb and Tom Hanks just nails it.

I love watching Tom Hanks, and listening to this interview was a treat. His eyes are so expressive and he is incredibly earnest in all of his performances, comedy to drama and right down to acting. Hands down one of my favourite actors.
