  • When I clicked on this video I thought it was The Sixth Sense

  • thats glenn beck and its true!

  • This is our assignment: to change the world: one community, one school, one class, one student at a time. If we all do it just think of the possibilities

  • I made the mistake of watching this right after I lost my 39 year old son last year. I had seen this movie several times in the past. and cried at the end. Course I really cried this time. I thought Helen Hunt's actions were right on the money. She is such a great actress. When you lose a child, no matter how old they are, it touches your core, your very soul. Hunt was so realistic in how she portrayed the grieving mother.

  • Zoila...te quiero! :)

  • Wow... I wish he was my teacher.

  • You can save the world... Check out Niyama Sky's amazing promo music video...

  • To start with, Indians and Pakistanis need to stop having so many children and then stop encroaching on other peoples lands and stop over breeding on these lands too, it's unfair. This world is for all races, not just Indians and Pakistanis.

  • I saw this movie about five times in school.

Liked it less and less each time.

  • @shaboooom calm yo farm

  • I watched this in school and it was really touching... The end made me mad though. When Trevor got stabbed, I said "You son of a bitch" out loud and made the class laugh... Got detention though :/ This movie is inspiiiiiring! My way of paying it forward was telling people to watch this movie so they'd think of something... It's a start.

  • I SEEE... PEOPLE PAYING IT FORWARD

  • This is how we all should live our lives ... paying it forward. Go MAD (Make A Difference!) and see how much fun it can be! It is the most rewarding feeling in the world to do something for someone else ... just because we can. :)

  • DON't give them a cent WAKE UP THEY ARE SCAMMING YOU ....... AGAIN

  • one of my favorite movies, watched this when I was like 14.. made me think differently about things

  • 17 ppl don't have hearts

  • Paying forward hopeful, prospects comprises divinity, ultimately advancing ultimatums, desiring compromised prospectives, hoping forwarding pays !

  • lol bummer, hard bum-her-hard

  • when i was in lockup when i was a teen, we watched this show with our couceler(i was in jail for probation violation, i did alot of shit) and this movie got me thinkin about thing, i fuckin hate school but ive been grounded for 4 months and havnt got to hang with friends, i told my self that im gonna get my grades up for the world, not for me, and thats wat i did

  • WAY can't we all learn to pay it forword it would be a better place i told my history teacher about this assighnment and she said she might make the class do this:)but any one who commented on this haves to pay it forword to 3other people:)..I will

  • The message is that changing the world starts on an individual level. People just think they are too small to make a difference

  • Lauren J continued...

By sharing how he changes the world he gives insight to the very idea that more than money can make a difference, we, you, and I can make a difference totally separate from finances. As liasons our job is similar to his; we expand and pass on the idea that others can change the world, and that there makes all the difference because it only takes ONE to create a cycle or rather a GO effect to in turn inspire MANY.

  • The prompt "think of an idea to change the world- and put it to action" is something I relate to GO. I also relate the students' responses to GO. Our idea is GO, the orphanage, and the hospital. What do people think? We're "weird", "crazy", and it's "hard." It seems to be all of these things but most importantly it is POSSIBLE! I also relate it to go because one of the goals is to show students that they can make a difference and not just their money.

    Lauren J to be continued...

  • This is definitely, motivational, Inspiration, and really makes me think harder about changing the world and making me realize that nothing is impossible . Our class is fortunate, I'm honestly thankful for avondale and the student leadership class . :)

  • Moving, Motivating, Inspirational. This video let me know that its up too me too make a change. All it takes is one person. Nothing is impossible.

  • every student this opportunity if we facilitate it correctly. showing the impossible as possible is was i et frkm this video and that the world is telling us we cant brcause of our age, race, ans education but we can really do whate er we want. and that what the teacher here is saying. so i hope we can teach the same thing

  • its brandy.........after that i just thibk aboht how much i wish every student had the opportunity to hear this, then i relized that we are giving

  • After watching this clip I can’t stop thinking if this was the normal mentality of each of us? What if this was the norm of teachers? What if every single person saw their career with this much value?

If every teacher challenged students in this way, would it be the norm for students to believe that they can change the world? This lesson was approached looking at something greater than just the curriculum, and I can guarantee that the students will learn more and achieve more because of it.

  • I found it interesting that he kind of talked over their heads, but he said things that kept them thinking the entire time. The thing that got me thinking was when he said "The Relm of possiblity lies in each one of you, accepting it is up to you" I thought that statement was sooo powerful because its the honest truth, the world throws so much in our face but taking it and running with it is up to us as individual.

  • ''How about..... possible''

I liked how as soon as the teacher explained the assignment to the kids, they shot it down and didn't understand it. However, the teacher was ready for this to happen, and even though people doubted him he showed them that they have purpose and potential to change anything that they want to.

    -Terri Ann

  • I really liked that the teacher actually challenged the students minds by asking them the question, because sometimes as kids i think we are sometimes limited by the education system, because all that we are ever taught is do good in school, play a sport, and go to college become something regular, and boom thats life, teachers dont ask their students to do an extra credit like he asked his students in clip. .anjelica.

  • "You and the World"

He is right it is you and the world, you know Change is needed but its up to you to make the change :] Lets all start with GO week - Sami

  • I really like the part where they question what does the world expect of you. The only thing the world really expects of me is to graduate high school, and go to college, get a job, get married, have children. But this isn't the way that I think any of us want to live, every student in the school wants to be "somebody". They don't want to be just another person out of the machine. Which I think is where GO comes in, it give us the opportunity to be our own person, and to change the world.

    -Amy

  • "The realm of possibility exists in each of you..."

and in every single kid in our school and in every single student in Michigan and in every single person in the world. Everyone has the potential to change the world. It's all about action. I want each kid that I teach this lesson to to believe that. I'm ready for GO.

    -KP

  • Reminds me of my favorite quote "Anyone can do the impossible" <3 Lovee this movie especially this part

    ~Valene.

  • "How about....possible"

the word possible has no direct relation to the words the students said, but its just the right word. I also likes that he said that the realm of possibility exists within each of you. very motivational. very true. i hope im not getting graded by the amount of sentences. because I didnt write many.

  • i like how trevor says the world expects nothing from us because i agree- it doesn't. but that doesn't mean we can't contribute to it and make it a better place. which is why i loved when the word ACTION was written in capital letters on the board. it emphasizes that instead of complaining about the things we dislike about this world - we can CHANGE them. we can CHANGE people's perceptions of the world. the vehicle to change starts with GO. - hallej.

  • I was hit the most by the words "Not Forever" our freedom will come to us eventually. It's what we decide to do with it that counts.

    -Katelyn

  • This clip makes you realize that anything and everything is possible. Also that if we don't push ourselves and have our own expectations no one will strive to do anything. It makes you wonder how much your life can effect the world if you try.

  • Socialism!- This is not the role of an American School system teacher!

  • This movie was filmed in Las Vegas at Centennial High School. I go to Shadow Ridge its funny to see all these familiar sites and pretty much all of the schools here are designed the same.

  • A movie and an idea that is focused on decency, kindness, compassion, the only drama that had my four kids attention at the time it was made, more powerful impaction, honest and real situations they see painted on there screen, the more they desire to make a difference.

  • Best movie ever!! were watching it in ( social Studies!!)

  • i pay it forward everyday!

  • I cried

  • wow this movie looks cool. Imma start watching it next month!

  • MY ASSIGNMENT IS QUITE SIMPLE!!!!!

I am trying to persuade my fellow Germans to watch great stuff like this video here instead of trashy bullshit German TV in order to become a better example for their kids so that they will stop watching German TV aswell and are going to build up a better relationship to the "school-subject" Englisch, in order to save a lot of money on private tutoring for English, having then more money to fight global poverty :o) WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY EFFORTS???

  • that 7th grader is very very brilliant. his idea is amazing! i am going to start this with some of my friends and see where it takes us! yall can all join if you want to.

  • Lol Just found out today watching this movie that when he says there is a world out there near the start, its in the song Richy Nix - The World xD

  • One of my favorite films!

  • Helen Hunt is such a cock tease.

  • The woman who wrote the book was a good Christian. :-) She is a very good writer.

  • This is one of the few brilliant movies out there! I wonder why wasn't set for Oscar nomination!

    However, won a Blockbuster Entertainment.

This is my second favorite movie, after Gladiator.

  • Pay it forward doesn't work at all. Even if you can make people run around and help each other. You can only change the world but NOT save it! The world will never be better or worse.

  • Kevin Spacey is such a good actor.

  • the nice bug floats around and bites people for a better world! do something good for somebody and then they have to do something good for 3 more people! help make a better world and spread the word!!

  • this movie made me try to pay it forward like he did ... i really really tried. but ya.. good movie overalll. :) the world is just a big dissappoiintment!!! unless you take the things you don't like about this world and you flip them upside down right on their ass... :P

  • Esta pelicula lleva una gran enseñanza, cada uno de nosotros puede hacer del mundo un mejor lugar para vivir, sólo está en querer lograrlo. Esto es posible!!!

  • PAY IT FORWARD

  • I can say for a fact that I cried like a baby while I watched this movie. I think this movie shows a serious and real crisis in the world. If only we all really did a "Pay It Forward" chart.. I think we should start one, because we all know that the world likes to throw A LOT of bad things our way. And when it really comes down to it, the bad doesn't discriminate, so it doesn't matter what your race; religion; or beliefs are.

  • wow what a bad ass teacher...too bad i didnt have one of those, only in hollywood.

  • Really great movie, I loved it! And I just noticed something interesting bout this part - has anyone noticed the huge range in size in this one class? :D lol they're all 11, but some look about 8 and others look 13, I mean Trevor looks ton smaller than some of the ones near him. Random I know lol, just noticed now

  • Get the word out! On November 1st, a group of school mates and I are going to try to start a Pay It Forward chain. If anyone wants to join in, just start on November 1st until the end of the month. This is NOT spam, so please don't spam me. I really just want to see how well this could work out. I know there was a group that did this a while back, but let's start it up again, guys! Remember the 1st of November! :D

  • @sspencesgirl92

sounds interesting. i'd like to try it.

  • I love this movie!

  • my techer showed ME this video and i kinda like this video the clip was also very inspiering we are working on recycling programs right now at my school

  • LOVEYABYE!

  • one of the greatest and saddest movies ever

  • it is positively possible!!!!! let's get started (again:)

  • This movie is very inspiring. I even created my own Pay It Forward chart and am working on my first circle right now! Made me cry. Best movie ever.

  • one of the best movies ever made

  • I saw the full movie once, and I cried :'(

  • Why we don´t Learn that in School?

  • Because, most teachers actually don't give a shit about teaching us anything worth anything.

  • Because if you had RESPONSIBLE PARENTS (or if you ARE a RESPONSIBLE PARENT) you don't need strangers to teach it! I'm a responsible PARENT and my child has been raised with this concept. Let's also throw in a little PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH PAY IT FORWARD!

  • AMEN! Its time parents stop throwing off their parental responsibility to others and teach their kids.

  • thos movie was amazing. it touched me in so many ways you cant understand

    :]

  • I believe it's possible to change the World, each one of us has the potential if we don't limit our beliefs. Create some new ones if the ones you have are telling you different. I mean beliefs are handed down to begin with, why not hand down some real truths?!

The thing that bugs me most is that we, the USA are always so bent on helping the World when we need to help ourselves first. Charity starts at home and we have plenty of homeless and sufferings right here to start with.

  • this is probably one of the greatest movies ever made. in my book, at least.

plus, it made me cry ):

but it has a great moral.

  • this movie reminds me of me when i was lil. always tryin to help people and wanted to save the world.

now i'm realizeing as a 16 year old teenager it's unreal. nuclear weapons, machines, unknown flying objects from outta-space, bombs and war can kill everybody in seconds.

machines, space objects & psychos are the real problem of today.

  • Trying to Save the World isn't unrealistic. We can't allow ourselves to take on that attitude...a defeatist attitude. If we take it upon ourselves to make ourselves better people and do what we can to help others, then we are on the right path. I am not saying it is enough to just do your part, but to instill in others a desire to do their part with an attitude that doesn't hinder progress. A basketball saying is a very analagous statement, "You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take."

  • when i watched this movie in school, when the main kid (i cant remember his name) died my friends said that the kids who killed him should be shot in the fucking head.. then they said "dont take a life if you cant take 1"
