  • Omg!! I love this song! My little 2 year old baby cousin sings this ALL the time..

"If i only had a hawt..."

    xDD

    So cute!!!

  • 0:53

    Snow White

  • Out of all the songs and dances the Tin Man is my favorite

  • When I was little I had a crush on the tinman! :O

  • @sunandclouds98

Omg I had a crush on the scarecrow lmao

  • @katy1423 ME TOOOOOO!!!

  • this song made my childhood...lol

  • random bird...

  • =] =]=]=] i love this!

  • At 1:59 Toto runs away!!! XD

  • But will he blend?

  • I Love This!!!

  • 0:31 oh we all know what he's thinking

  • The Tin Man is my favorite!!

  • 1:55 #swag

  • It is so cute that the Tin Man smiles.

  • Toto is such a boss.

  • Jack Haley is my hero.

  • It's hard to believe that anyone still owns a copyright to this, or that they want to. The movie has made billions upon billions for all involved (except the Munchkins of course)

  • I just love this movie

  • 1:32 okay. So.....now we know where the stanky leg originated. : )

  • I have to memorize this for play

  • @fantaXDaddict the best theory of their conversation was that Dorothy suggested that they take TinMan with them to see the wizard, so that he can get a heart. And Scarecrow probably whispered back that it could possibly be a good idea. after his dance, Dorothy actually tells TinMan that she and Scarecrow think that they should bring him along.

  • That silver paint gave him some kind of skin problems I heard....

  • @TheOrderoftheOwl it was not this actor....it was the actor who played Jed Clampett on the Beverly Hillbillies.....Buddy Epson was the original Tin Man but got very sick due to the aluminum dust they used...so Jack Hayley was the replacement and Epson was not told of the change and so he lost out on this character

  • I want to know what Dorothy and the scarecrow were whispering to each other

  • I have to sing this, Im playing the Tin Man in my theatre school's show of Wizard of oz!

  • Yes, it's there at 1:55, the bird that later shows up behind them in the "We're off to see the Wizard" song. This bird roams around all the time and no one notices it. Someone MUST have faked the "munchkin suicide" scene cuz it must be the same bird, looks like a fucking emu or something.

  • does no one else see the big-ass bird in the background............look in the background at the very beginning of the video you will see it flap its wings......you cant miss it unless your blind

  • @biggD9701 i see it...

  • Picture me - a balcony. Above a voice sings low.

  • Its sooo neat when Jack Haley as the Tin Man start's to dance and then goes left and right, and then goes up anf down and purges a little and toot's his whistle like a steam shovel.

    really neat,and endearing.

  • I ship Dorothy and the Tin-Man. :U

Also to clear up any of the "dwarf hanging himself" or whatever rumors. It wasn't the swan at all, nor a dwarf. It was one of the crew members that fixing a part of the set pieces. He slipped from his place and his neck accidentally got caught. Thus breaking his neck, where he hung. Okay? My great grandmother told this to my grandmother and my mom.

There. Now, shut up and watch the clip.

  • It's so sad the tin man died because of the makeup they put on his face

  • @nicks2754 that's not true. The tin man in this video was jack haley and very much alive. The original tin man did not die either. He was simply poisoned, and wasn't able to take the role

  • @ryanstevens11 Actually, the original Tin-Man was allergic to the metallic makeup, making it impossible for him to play the part, so they had to replace him.

  • @PirateNamedJoyce Ok, that's exactly what I said,.... so thanks.........?

  • i wonder wat dorthy and the scarecrow r telling each other

  • @karenhenriquez

Records show that they were exchanging dirty remarks.

  • @MarshFacev2 lol i wander if they sed he lookz gay dancin that crap @ 1:50-2:17

  • @karenhenriquez I would say they were discussing on having the Tin man to come along with them to see the wizard.

  • lol, me and my mates are doin this as a min school play, we look really idiotic ;P

  • What is that going on behind the straw man at 02:15? It looks like an arm picking something.

  • @lochmabon

    Is it a peacock?

  • @lochmabon Its the infamous bird that looks like a dwarf hanging himself.

  • Thumbs up if John Tobias brought you here.

  • how could this be in 1939 !!?

    the quality is good O.O

  • @Slizzy77 Because it was the first colour movie, and they had good microphones.

  • I sing this all the time to annoy my wife.

  • the part that goes "Where for art thou, romeo" is the voice of Adriana Caselotti, the voice of Snow White.

  • @jalcrox2

I read that on OMG Facts!

  • @jalcrox2 that's awesome!!!

  • @jalcrox2 I THOUGHT she sounded familiar!!

  • @jalcrox2 excuse me what?

  • @jalcrox2 Would you believe that THAT is exactly why i looked up this video?! To hear that line again!? And identify snow white's voice!? :O

  • i want the puppy!

  • He looks like Ricky Gervais

  • OOhhh noo look what happened by accident. ^^

  • love how scarecrow shakes his head about 5-8 seconds after the Tin man smiles real close at Dorothy 0:33 to 0:42

  • 2 dislikes wicked witch and her monkey

  • LOL @ 2:02 when tin man goes "toot! toot!", it scared poor little Toto

  • love how he looks at Dorothy when he says "Id be tender id be gentle but also sentimental" with that cheeky grin on his face id bet youd be gentle with her buster XD

Scarecrow to Dorthy: Oh my God thank you for being the first one to say that... I just couldn't be the first one to mention it.

  • @joshpick18 This is a scene from a 1939 classic. You're messed up to even think that.

  • @falloutxable Hah dude I know it's a classic. I love this movie. I was just making a comment. It doesn't mean I'm messed up.... chillax brah

  • The Tin Man does "Smooth Criminal" 48 years before Michael Jackson did!

  • 0:54 is the voice of Snow White :)

  • Judy looked especially lovely at 1:55. What little boy wouldn't fall in love with her? *sigh*

  • did any1 else notice the wicked with with her broomstick move bhind dorothys head 1:55- 1:56

  • @animeeangel123

Actually, I believe that's one of the exotic birds (I'm not sure of the exact name of it) that they apparently had on the stage.

  • @animeeangel123

Found the name of the bird that was behind Dorothy's head at that specific scene: African crane

  • @JLCL01 ooooooo looked like the wicked witch 4 a sec ther hehe

  • Tin Man really, really loves the ladies. Just like George Michael and Freddie Mercury did. (haha. No offense. I friggin' LOVE the Wizard of Oz. And I love the Tin Man, but...come on! Looking back, he wasn't really hiding it! People? Hell-ooo?)

  • I love this movie, i don't care how old it is! <3

  • @GabriellaMoss1 The old movies are always the best- as are old songs and TV programmes.

  • :54 is snow white saying that

  • @HannahGail95 actually, yeah, that was the voice of snow white, she only had one line in the whole thing cuz disney wanted her to stay snow white =)

  • @savastar1 yes! and she was paid $100 dollars and was uncredited!

  • @HannahGail95 did you go on omgfacts too??? x)

  • im singing this on wednesday thursday and friday nights of this week in me local town.......im the tinman of course but not doing the dance lol

  • OMGFACTS!

  • Its amazing how this was made in 1939 and the colour was apparently was by people painting the pictures in. (Wiki)

  • 2:24 Toto got scared of Tinman ending up on him xD

  • Fhood it's an American classic

  • I've noticed how the relationships of the main characters are like a family, Dorthy being the Daughter/Sister, the Tin Man being an Uncle, The Lion as a little brother, and the Scare Crow as a grandfather :)

  • Anyone notice the sexual tension between Dorothy and the Tin man, and Dorothy and Scarecrow? :P

  • Why are there so many clips from this old 1930s movie on YouTube? I've never heard of this movie before! And some clips are in black and white, and others are in color -- WTF?

  • @fhood You have not lived.

  • Ironically the tin man died of KIDNEY FAILER

  • If i was the Scarecrow...my name would be 'Ray BULGEr"

  • When I said more professional I meant as in than a school play

  • I am playing the Tinman in a production of Wizard of Oz its a more professional production and singing the song I have played a girl before lil Beth the thing is to just let go and heck get tips from people of the opposite gender but with him just walk stiff but keep ur legs slightly bent so u do not pass out and his song is sort of high but for lower just support ur voice

  • Poor bird committed suicide. Damn munhkins treated him bad.

  • did anyone eles see the bird in the background???? or am i going crazy??

  • @irishhotty123 Yep, that's a bird there in the background. For the longest time, it was presumed to be one of the munchkins committing suicide, but it was the bird.

  • 1 dislike is the wicked witch

  • I think that's where Michael jackson was inspired with that antigravity move and anyone know what Dorothy whispered to the scarecrow?

  • @TJS2400 something like "Why don't we bring him with us?"

  • is he wearing eye liner?

  • who came here becuase of stubbs the zombie lol

  • Pay enough attention to this movie and you'll realize that this movie is pure symbolism for the politics of the time.

  • thumbs up if family guy brought you here.

Jk this is a classic! i came here on my own.

  • 0:02 the bird that started the hanging munchkin crisis

  • 0:52 that female voice belongs to adriana caselotti, who famously voiced walt disney's snow white two years earlier!

  • Tin Man think he's Michael Jackson doing the "Anti-Gravity Lean" at 0:20!!!!

  • 1 person doesnt have a heart

  • @goldenwolf324 You meant "haht". =)

  • @cuttock gotta love the Boston accent!! :)

  • holy munchkin !!! 1939 !!!

  • 2:02 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • right at the begining you see the large bird that caused the "hanging munchkin" rumor lol

  • For 1939 this is great!

  • I was so scared of the Tin Man when I was little. I remember in the store when I got a dorothy doll with my grandma, and she said "Are you sure you don't want a tin man?"

    I started crying....XD

  • 1939??

    shit!!!!!!!

  • Look at the bird between Dorothy and the Tin Man in the background at 0:02. Bet u never saw that cause u were to busy watching the other three.

  • I love it when the scarecrow falls lol XD

  • Tin Man has a bit of sugar in his tank.

  • @ZX2ManDave Agreed! Hahaha

  • Tin Man is one smooth criminal.

Movie mistake: 2:20 Toto on the left, 2:21 Toto on the right.

  • @allnotathome also when they're talking to the wizard later, the Scarecrow changes places instantly a few times

  • 1:59 lol!

  • ostrich at 0:00

  • Great movie but i bet it would look horrible on a 2d format 3d tv

  • What a truely wonderful performance Jack gives here......I too considered this a great highlight of the film.......Films like this masterpiece will never be able to be duplicated

or the genius involved in the production and music and of course the truely gifted and unforgettable actors and performers who will live on forever in our hearts and minds... This was Hollywood at its finest yet the infancy of "color" on the screen in 1939.

  • 0:54 is the same woman as Snow White's voice =]

  • lol i love the Tin man's face at 0:56

    He's like... what the hell???

  • 2:20 Smooth Criminal

  • @Tannz0rz Criminal? What do you mean?

  • I like this too and when he gets the heart!

  • At 2:09 you can see the Peacock moving, in the background, (at least that is what I think it is) which was mistaken as the munchkin hanging.

  • toto does it so good in this part!!!

  • his voice is beautiful <3

  • If you look closely, you can see there is someone in the backround of the scene in front of the house when they show Dorothy and the Scarecrow.

  • @redskin33grant It's the actress playing the witch. either she is their for continuity or was caught in the shot by mistake .

  • @redskin33grant it looks like it's an animal or bird of some sorts

  • @redskin33grant that's a bird lol

  • who plays the tin man? :)
