  • By August 1st, 2011, everyone will know what's coming. This is why you want to be at your safe zones on or before August 1, 2011. When everyone finds out, too many people will be doing the same thing you're doing, and you don't want to find yourselves stuck.

  • were you with Jesus did you see god make the earth NO so how do you know??? you don't.

  • Heh, Its a matter of belief. I believe the Universe came to be over billions of years through physical processes, in which science has shown us. You believe everything was just made

  • But where you there! How do you know?

  • We can see the past when it comes to light reaching us from 13.7 light years away.

  • he doesnt know, and u dont knwo that it was made as u think either, every piece of information we reviece has the POSSIBILITY of being false. from the possibilty that this pc im on isnt real, to the possibility that everything coule hav just been created. what ppl do is BELEIVE in something, whether or not they admit that it is POSSIBLE hat their theory is incorrect. it then comes down to pure evidence in my opinion, i just look at mass amounts of scientific data, and i mean A SHIT LOAD.

  • and i say, evolution is true, theres sooo much hard data on it its not even funny. and u dont need to be a scientist to understand the data. just look into it a little, even if u wont beleive after, u religion ppl have nothing to lose, i beleive most religion ppl are hihgly motivated by trying to avoin hell, AKA etnernal torture or w\e. and for that, i dont blame religion ppl for being so ignorant time after time, shit if i though hell was real id prolly do the same, fuck, think about it.

  • Uh-oooh... God isn't going to like thiiiiis ...>>

  • more interesting would be...how do they know any of this? Where did this diagram come from? is it estimation?

I wanna see their working process.

  • As you may know, light travels at a specific speed. so it takes time for the image of an object to reach you. Well, if that object is 13.7 billion lightyears away, then you're looking 13.7 billion years into the past, when we look at these images, we see how galaxies have formed, how stars became, etc. We assume the universe is this 13.7 billion years old because we cannot see further then that, something like that. So anywho, we know this, because we see the past.

  • no, no, I completely understand that.

When you look up at the Stars you are seeing a picture of the past, because as fast as lightspeed is, the distance of the universe dwarfs the distance light can travel in a second.

Also, I understand that by red-shifts and blue shifts we can see what is receding and in what direction. I comprehend that.

What I'm saying is, THIS is a picture of the Universe as it was a long time before the Earth existed. HOW was it made?

  • Oh, heh, I apologize, I misunderstood your question. This is simply the imagination at work, my best guess. Matter would start to attract and become clouds, then dense chunks, etc. So I guess the best idea of an early universe we have is basically clouds that consist of 1-3 elements. /shrug

  • "What I'm saying is, THIS is a picture of the Universe as it was a long time before the Earth existed. HOW was it made?"

Gravity, the same way all astronomical objects are formed. Of course, the Earth is made mostly of heavy elements and THOSE were formed inside of stars, billions of years before the Earth was formed.

  • nooo you plonker.

I'm not asking how the Universe was made, that'd be stupid. I was asking how this 3D diagram was made ...the process of the Scientists, not nature...errgh you misunderstand.

  • they used an abacus to make it...

  • I think the lady mentioned it 2 seconds into the video. She said it was a virtual universe. You can interpret that as a computer model/simulation.

  • Actually, the furthest distance we can see is 46,5 billion light years away.

We used a different approach to calculating the age of the universe to 13,5-14 billion years old.

  • Oh yea? Didn't know that.

  • wow i thought people that watched NS would have better comments to leave then on other channels

    looks like i was wrong

  • So true. This is true with all the other educational channels as well. Why cant we keep these channels clean?
