Dont forget effy didnt speak in the first couple seasons. People dont just do that for no reason. I think she had so much inside she never let out and with Freddie she fell so hard things just spun out of control because both of their personalities. This skins relationship really broke my heart for a while because you really wish these guys had got a proper chance to be together. :(

But apparently the authors had to make another one plot twist so *she loves him so much that she went insane*. I would understand it if he would not love her. It would seem to me that you can lose your mind from unshared love.
@MrZhepebrilo I'd say her insanity comes from quite before but meeting Freddy was the culminate. She has always been avoiding love, she thought that way she will be stronger but Freddie was like the ideal/romantic/dreamer who loved her a lot and she fell for him too. That's something she thought would never happened and she was not prepared for that so that's when she can't bare it and went insane. The problem with Effy is that she thinks love makes you weak instead of stronger.
