The distance between the bars on the ground is not right, this is the point for him to come of the ground. And better to use a groundbar in the jump itself then he can better estimate how high the jump is, or make a cross
1) i do look where I am going and plan which direction I'm going the moment I land from the previous jump. My horse can't balance him self cantering the right very well yet, therefore, he ALWAYS lands on the incorrect lead going that direction, no matter what I do.
2) The point of the poles a stride away from the jump in either direction is correct. it teaches him to balance himself and take off correctly. The poles are not intended for him to take off at that point.
especially with the outdoor jumping you can see it, the horse chooses himself in which 'gallop' he goes (right or left, see the frontlegs), and then you go in the other direction, because of this he is in the 'wrong gallop' in half of the jumps.
Above the jump you allready need to move your legs to choose if you wanna go in left gallop or right gallop, then he will be in the right gallop after the jump, this make him faster, sharper turns and more agile.
Hi, i came across your clip while scrolling through video's (excuse my english im not a native speaker)
You have a nice horse who really seems to love jumping, your 'pose' on him is pretty ok, however it looks like you leave the decisions to him (and he seems to be a horse who always jumps no matter what), you seem to focus on your 'pose' and chosing the direction AFTER you jumped, however you need to look ahead, know which direction you go after the jump before you jump the previous one.
@themiekmiek she didnt post this video 4 critique. cant people just watch & leave it at that. every1 is an expert & seem 2 think others post vids 2 be told how 2 ride by some stranger who 4 all she knows doesnt know their ass from a hole n the ground. i am soo sick of all these youtube trainers! worry about ur own. she isnt doing anything wrong or above her skill level. she doesnt need ur advise. if she wants help im sure she'l find it from some1 she knows is qualified 2 advise her in person.
