If i got the story right from all the endings. Quan Chi killed Scorpios family and framed (new) Sub Zero for it. So Scorpion kills (new who he sworn to protect) Sub Zero. Then Quan Chi tells Scorpion what he did and then when he is about to send Scorpion back to hell, Scorpion runs and grabs Quan Chi and takes him with him. There he beat the shit out of Quan Chi, after that Quan Chi escapes and Scorpion finds him and repeat untill one day Quan Chi finds two Oni to defend him.
