This game... don't get me wrong, this is a solid action game, but it SERIOUSLY lacked as a DMC game... the ideas where there, but they weren't used properly, and they made the game slow and uneven. But, i will be grateful for it's existance, merely because this game is the start of the Style System we see utilized and perfected in DMC3 and 4
DMC2 was awesome. Sure, it pales in comparison with DMC's 3 and 1, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining.
I actually like how Dante was serious this time around. His Devil Trigger mode looked awesome, and the game overall was fantastic. Loved it and I still do.

We live in a society where the media makes our decisions for us because most people can't make decisions on their own.
horrible script.... but great characters, love Dantes outfit and how badass he is. I still play it to this day even though I hated a lot of the aspects they put into it. (too dumb to make new challenges so they re-make ones from DMC1)

I honestly didn't think this game was THAT bad. It's just in comparison to the others.
I'd put DMC2 at a 6-7/10 whereas DMC1 is at 9-10. I still don't have an opinion on DMC3 since I stopped playing after a friend of mine beat one of the bosses by just pressing one button repeatedly...kinda lost respect for the game after that.
But regardless, I still think this form of Dante was the coolest. Love this outfit.

@CarrotFox23 Devil May Cry 2 was actually always the last part in the timeline. Devil May Cry 4 was before Devil May Cry 2. Maybe Lady, Trish and so on got killed, so he became really dark and moody. However, I actually really liked Devil May Cry 2. The music was great, the action was again pretty awesome, if not even way better then in the first game, because it was a lot faster.
Devil May Cry 3 stays the best part in the series though. That was just a blast. I bought my PS3 just because of it.

This was the first DMC game i played and i thought it was the best game ever. In DMC3 i really missed the desperation devil trigger... i used to abuse it a lot in bloody palace :P And with 3 playable characters there was no end to the fun! Wrong. While Reuben didn't come in as Dante until part 3. The series was always voiced by American voice actors. Drew Coombs was the first voice of Dante in DMC. The Devil May Cry series of games has only been voiced in English with Japanese versions being English with Japanese Subtitles.
i havent played this game much, i rented it once but my PS2 screwed up so i couldnt play it and the second time i rented it both the discs were scratched up badly do i could only play the Lucia story. that kinda sucked (the fact that i couldnt play the game, not that the i could play a bit of it lol)

Hmmm...Am I the only one that thought DMC2 was epic? I loved Dante, he was bad ass in 2 (killing things with no emotion). I had a feeling something happened close to the beginning of the game when playing though. (I am starting to think maybe the death of Nero? 2 takes place after 4 and Nero is obviously not in 2)
It also had some great music too. I enjoyed the music thoroughly. The enemy designs were incredible, it's just a shame that Dante's personality was taken away and the game play was boring. But not everything about it was bad.

Well this commercial shows one thing that was really true to the game...using the guns. They worked more on guns and trickster moves than the sword combat it seems.
i've actually grown to like DMC2 more than i did before. sure it wasn't that great and it did feel easy let alone shorter [yea it felt really short to me], but the gameplay was good. Hmmm...Am I the only one that thought DMC2 was epic? I loved Dante, he was bad ass in 2 (killing things with no emotion). I had a feeling something happened close to the beginning of the game when playing though. (I am starting to think maybe the death of Nero? 2 takes place after 4 and Nero is obviously not in 2)

It also had some great music too. I enjoyed the music thoroughly. The enemy designs were incredible, it's just a shame that Dante's personality was taken away and the game play was boring. But not everything about it was bad.

the game tho....i'm slowly getting back into DMC2. honestly it was THAT bad...just the storyline was kinda outta wack and so was the gameplay. it was waay too easy..

Well this commercial shows one thing that was really true to the game...using the guns. They worked more on guns and trickster moves than the sword combat it seems.

Definately. I still think that the first one is the best in the series. DMC3&4 were great but DMC1 just had more epicness.

i've actually grown to like DMC2 more than i did before. sure it wasn't that great and it did feel easy let alone shorter [yea it felt really short to me], but the gameplay was good. I don't mind Dante's personality in this 'cause he did have a rough life. you can always hide things behind a smile, but he is getting older and now understanding things he hadn't understood before.....or is that just me? o__0;;

This has always been my favorite DMC commerical ever. Even if the DMC2 games was 'meh', (I loved Dante's costume, though) this commercial pwned the others ones.

Trish is in the game but shes a Secret char u have to unlock by some Manner that takes way to fucking long to do (do both versions (Dante Cd & Lucia Cd)in hard)
