  • if they snuck this into the airwaves and passed it off as something new everyone would be all over it coz its still good

  • I love old skool music.

  • Me too. Im 24 and I this all I heard growing up due to my parents including quad city djs. Music is nothing like it used to be and no matter how many generations later we survive this REAL music will never die.

  • i luv the old school

  • Newcleus....Was sending out a message to the world about a new computer world we live today?now have evolve in today??????????????????????????????

  • their best song ever..the newcleus on the streetsounds electro nu series was pretty dissapointing compared to this

  • Thank God I was around as a preteen, rocking to this in the 80's....even now it is STILL fresh! I know there are singers and rappers out today.... but amazing how they all pale into comparison against almost anything from the 70s, 80's and all the way up to the mid 90s.

  • jammin

  • 40 years old now and this jam still moves me like it did when I was 16. Sure shot!

  • @misfits859 you 56?

  • @misfits859 Me too lol. This was the jam back then.

  • @misfits859 hell yes...

  • Way ahead of their time. This and Jam On It sealed Newcleus' legacy as Electro-Funk kings.

  • YES YES YES YES, this is art, cardboard, fresh batteries and go !

  • Used to roll my dick off to this @ The Kingfish (Lafayette, LA)

  • This was a talent show pop lock hit. Back in school.

  • This track was prophetic. Deep. I still love this song. I've got the album and the 12" on vinyl.

  • Still one of my all-time favorites!!

  • written in 1983 Newcleus was prophetic

are we under their control or are they under our control or what?

    computer age is now

    everyone must have a machine

  • @braddahv3 I was just typing the same thing when I noticed your comment. True that.

  • Oh man just to go back to N. Frisco St. in Sikeston, MO for one hour to relive these memories! I would give anything!! Not a care in the world then!!!!

  • I recognize this song. It was featured as a soundtrack to a BMX video game. It was the one song I liked to repeat over and over in the levels.

  • Jamminass beat.

  • """Benny""" remembers this kutt/from back in the days""""""rest n peace __Bones__Smokey aka Johnny lujuan__George Mesa__Anthony Garica__Sammy Medellin__Lil Dice__Wings__Johnny Angel__Dorthy Medina_Corina Sanchez__Manuel Yanez

  • @jimbomickey yes you can by it at amazon .com

  • i agree

  • No lyrics or music today comes close!

  • Bring it back bring it back, this is when rap was at its very best, dam can we live again?

  • Me and my mama can jam to this all day and all night! ♥

  • MY JAM!!

  • i agree

  • Are we under their control, or are they under our control, or what?

Seems appropriate for everything that's going on today.

  • i can smell the crack burning! niggas was bugging to this shit back inna day

  • this is a bad jam

  • Wow, this really brings back memories! Thanks so much for uploading this one, haven't heard it in 20+ years.

  • Does anybody make music like this today? Would love to hear more.

  • This Jam is sick!!

  • 2011, My kids tell me why i like this music i guess they don't know there 20 years late.

  • I saved my money up when this came out the summer of 84' and ran to School Kids Records in Raleigh to buy this the day it came out. I had never heard anything like it before. The funny thing is, in 27 years nothing has come close to the sound of this song. I mean I have been a DJ since 1988 and heard alot of music i mean alot of music and nothing has had this sound. This is one of the most under rated bands ever. I don't get it. We need our own radio station. One for the people by the people.

  • @djthunder1970

I hear you but I was fortunate to grow up near Chicago and got a chance to hear some real good music. Egyptian Lover and Planet Patrol's Play at your own Risk were very good also, but I hear you thank God I grew up in the era that I did musically.

  • @djthunder1970 i agree this does sound moderinized

  • @djthunder1970 DO IT!!!

  • @djthunder1970 ...you will never hear music this good.....EVER.....not from the sorry ass music makers of today....my lil' brother included. Which I think I will tell him to go back to his roots, find the music your parents grew up on, and you can never go wrong.

  • @djthunder1970 - i so agree with you i have been a DJ since 1983 we do have a radio station check out freestyle.fm also the original KDAY Mix Master's are all on Stickam.com still doin there thing and check out Loyalty Radio on PodOmatic & Facebook... i am a Hip Hop historian i try and keep it alive today as much as i can my contact deatils are on my profile or just Google... somethingnewnow to find my current websites peace man keep in touch...

    Mix Master Ace

    Mix Master Ace

  • @djthunder1970 hats off to you. we rocked this in germany. newcleus was the s. .t . the best.

  • @djthunder1970 To think this song only has 110,335 hits can only me one thing, people have forgotten, and thats sad. This is one of the funkiest beats ever put on vynl

  • @djthunder1970 Same story here but the place was Providence RI and the record store was Rainbow Records which was owned and run by the area night club DJ's. Saturday mornings they would DJ's in the store and I could hear the jams first. I agree, one of the most under rated groups ever. My teenagers love 80's music.

  • @djthunder1970 -brah keep doing your thing playing & promoting true hip-hop,r&b,soul, & funk. I was a Sophomore in high school when this track came out. We would have a dance after all our home football games and would have break dance battles with each other that were the shit. Man how times passes. Life was so much simpler & care free. Today the industry has polluted the market & minds of the youth with the senseless, meaningless, materialistic bullshit on the airways. PURE GARBAGE.

  • @djthunder1970 true that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @djthunder1970 wow while reading your comment starting to listen to this song i can see what you mean. fucking awesome

  • @djthunder1970

yo thunder i grew up on a air force base in Germany and this was the jam over there in 84!!! You are right this is the hottest song ever made!! Much better than this junk now!!! Peace brah!!!

  • @hoyasaxa85 82-86 best years in hiphop electro funk..too many great artists to mention that innovated this style of great music..i bet rampstein or whatever it's called lol peace

  • @djthunder1970 i agree

  • We used to tear it up on rooler skates on this jam back in the day. Things were a lot more of fun back then.

  • DJ Magic Mike did a song called Who Am I? from his bass bowl albums sounds kinda like this song

  • such the daddys dick? suck

  • that was out in 1984 but sounds like music from 2024! way ahead of its time warning about letting the computers taking over everything!

they were prophets and underrated by music history. NEWCLEUS kicked ass!

  • @704whatever Totally agree.

  • Yeah, I'm only 18, but I grew up LISNing2 this. I love my new music, but this makes me light up on the inside. :)

  • 4 dislikes means there's atleast 4 idiots in the world.

  • I'm about to break out my parachute pants and pop and break to this jam. this jam still gives me goose bumps

  • This track had the hood jumpin'...The racist won't know nothing about this.

  • smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth!

  • thnx4takin a brah back.....

  • "are we under their control or are they under our control or what?

are we under their control or are they under our control or what?"

    Prophetic?

  • Brings back memories of me and my brother Paul killing all popping competition back in the day. As a matter of fact, I'm 42 and I know I still got the juice!

  • mat hoffman's pro bmx :) who agree? ;)

  • very close second to Cybotron - Clear for the award of "Definitive 80's Electro Tune". I honestly, honestly have had tears in my eyes when listening to this again in what's now my middle aged life - it's the end bit from 5:15 that really does that to me. I'm 15 again and listening to Tim Westwood (before he became a tosser) on the pirate LWR in South London........

  • @Zog26 LOVELY!! I defo respect those sentiments

  • the best ^^ ,this is old school ^^

  • I can't get enough of this....fantastallistic !! :)

  • They were ahead of their time. We are now in the 'Computer Age'.

  • Love it!!!!!

  • rap since 1999 certainly does suck, its total fuckin crap these days

  • @onegek

    MFDoom...very good.

  • Dammit I had this on Vinyl! Thx for bringing it back to me:)

  • 3 people don't wanna push the button.

  • @TakumaMimura three people that are obviously idiots

  • I just will never understand why some people dislike funk. As far as electronic music goes, a lot of new artists have given it a bad reputation . . . like with terrible dubstep. It's reassuring to know some bands got it right ^_^

  • I never knew that Newcleus made this awesome song. I miss music like this.

  • shits tight fool

  • straight old school hiphop we need more bboy cuts nowadays

  • @houseofjrk I was thinking the same thing. This jam sound as fresh now as it did when i was growing up. Its amazing how good music never gets old.

I try really hard to give the stuff today a chance but it just sucks. Then again Maybe its because i tried the main stream stuff. Now that i think back. Stuff like this was never on MTV.LOL

  • word

  • I keep on watching these Newcleus drift off towards obscurity

  • Comment removed

  • @ukfresh86 I would LOVE to be there!

  • this was a song that you would pick to battle someone on the dance floor for supremacy. loved the 80's

  • @dakinebud187 It sure was... It was the perfect song to pop and breakdance to from 3:58 I use to go into it first with head spinning then straight into a windmill man those were the days.

  • @ramsplaya23 what? this is elecro funk

  • sINCE THE COMPUTERAGE IS ACTUALLY HERE NOW, I BET IF THEY COULD GO BACK IN TIME...THIS SONG WOULD BE...COMPUTER AGE (CLICK THE MOUSE)...and we would all been sayin, click the mouse...what the hell is that, we dont know, but it sounds cool, click the mouse.

  • Well... ain't it so true?!

  • I remember pulling the furniture to the walls and removing the rug so me and my 'homies' could do the helicopter to this song. Remember the 'helicopter'? Old break dancing move where your feet scissor over your head and your weight is centered on your neck? Too many memories (LOL)...

  • Best Album ever

  • Where's the cardboard at? Great breakdancing song.
