Hello SaxonBrit, As I sit and look through the French Windows just now I can see the lights of Bugnara twinkling across the valley. I must admit to not having heard the Barella spoken here, just about everyone is either called Ventresca or Lo Stracco. Do you have any relatives still in the area?
My Great-Grandfather Nicola Barella was a shephard from Bugnara.

I've often thought how similar the landscape is between Scotland or Ireland and Abruzzo - this song works perfectly in Abruzzo!
