  • was this during the 9/11 tribute

  • There are not many songs like this, not in all of music let alone rock. Not many that take us in and return us to youth again, not with nostalgia but with

Purpose, even if that purpose is to remember who we are again. Springsteen

Bears witness to the importance of risk and love and indentity, to the heated

Intensity of kissing that girl and hearing that song and dancing that dance. all the riturals and extremes of the young. The song carries us, secure,

and able to share it's joy.

  • the BIG BOii

  • Hey, you hit 300,000 views a long time ago, let's see dat HD version!

  • Absolutely Fantastic !.....I was lucky to see the E-Street band in England, twice in the early 80's....will cherish those moments watchin' the BIG MAN till the day i die !

    R.I.P. Clarence Clemons :'(

  • epic....

  • The epitome of what great rock and roll really is, from the lyrics to the music and the heart and power that the E STREET BAND plays this song.

  • Emotional.

  • clarence's sax solo is just epic... no words can describe it. RIP Big Man

  • 4:23 is the closest to heaven I have ever gotten

  • @odamoy definitely

  • this is in my top ten songs of all time, in any genre. As well, this might just be the best live performance of all time....in any genre. BOSS!!

  • 25 people gunned down by their own dreams. The girl shuts out the bedroom light.

  • whats everone thinking for this upcoming tour without the big man? I'm thinkin his nephew jake plays sax. If you havent heard the version of drive all night Jake does with glen hansard and eddie vedder check it out.

Bruce is The Boss - he just DO IT

    <3<3<3<3

  • bruce springsteen my favorite boss

  • I'm thankful to have had Clarence Clemons and this song in my life.

  • Bye bye Clarence. You really shine through this song. Peace. X

  • Just skip to 4:22

  • @NerdSIsPWN

    its great

but hey the whole song is just amazing

  • best sax solo in history

  • When my son is old enough to appreciate rock & roll, I am going to show him this.

  • 9:49 - 10:54 still gives me chills. I wouldn't expect anything less from the greatest little house band in all the land.

  • 7:30 to 7:35 now seems a little sad

  • no words....

  • Bruce and the Big Man go without saying but that man on the piano holds the whole song together and deserves full applause.....clap clap

  • R.I.P clarence clemmons the E street band won't be the same without you!! :(

  • @mattie507 tutti a milano...

  • Clarence dies when the E Street band dies, never forgotten big man

  • and man the poets down here don't write nothing at all they just stand back and let it all be.

  • As far as I am concerned there has never been and never will be anything to compare in live popular music to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I have been fortunate enough to see them 12 times since 1985 and what a joy it has been. Jungleland is an awesome song amongst many awesome songs in Springsteen's unequalled body of work over an incredible 40 year period.

  • pure magic

  • I had the privilege of seeing this performed live when they closed Meadowlands in 2008. They played the entire Born To Run album and let me tell you, I will never forget the moment when Clarence began his sax solo. The place became absolutely silent and the saxophone echoed through the entire stadium.

  • This performance needs 1'000'000 views.

    I'm working on it.

    Help is much appreciated.

  • the more I hear this, the more convinced I am this is truly the greatest song ever written.

  • Best song ever written+ greatest version= best 11 minutes of my life every time I watch it

  • With out a doubt the greatest song/video on youtube. During the sax solo I had a spiritual moment. Bruce and the whole E street band were all in the highest form during this concert. Rock and Roll does not get any better then this.

  • mesmerizing!!!!!!!

  • The greatest ever...

  • epic rip big man

  • @SEVENFOLD1301 hes still alive... lol

  • @BrambleBerry2011 No, the Big Man passed away in june due to complications from a stroke. I'll never forget that I was driving along a lake at sunset, listening to this same sax solo on the day it happened.

  • @Phyre112 Oh wow, that's a damn shame...

  • Why would anyone dislike this?

  • @usmc20032011 Their hand slipped when they tried to hit the like button

  • damnn it

    4:38

    epic

bruce is drowning into clarence sax

  • Not sure how to describe this, but it seems to transcend the word "song".

  • The greatest 11-minute opera ever written.

  • This sax maked me cry for the emotion, thank Big Man

  • RIP BIG MAN

  • RIP BEST CLARENCE!

    btw best video on youtube

  • RIP BEST CLARENCE!

  • @theorin1 don't know how we've made it this long without 'em....peace+love2all.......

  • That solo is a prayer...

  • I feel your soul, Big Man. You're with us forever, brother.

  • I'd like to thank Phantom and Big Man for everything. I'll miss them very much. Epic version, cried my heart out.

  • Clarence, you are a god.

  • still missing you Big man & Danny..The E street Band's heart is blown away

  • epic rip clarence

  • Miss you Big Man.

  • RIP Big man - you're music will live on forever.

  • When I was a 9 year old kid way back in '75, long before I knew who the Boss was, in the record shops I noticed the the cover of the Born to Run album... the name on the album said "Bruce Springsteen", but there were two men there in the photograph - I remember always wondering why there was no second name... the Big Man has always been imprinted on the minds-eye ever since.

  • teardrops on the city tonight. RIP big man and thanks for the music. The E Street band was my growing up and Scooter and the Big Man just made it all rock. From Thunder Road to Jungle Land i thank you Clarence, i will miss you and will think of you when your notes fill the air and my ears.i write with tears in my heart that i will never hear you again live but am thankful for all the times i did. thank you .Play on Sir. Play on. goodbye Clarence

  • My hero from schol days - Bruce Springsteen - Jungleland - this is a very crafted and rousing track - watch it till the end folks - I saw him at Earls Court - just magic

  • Absolutely amazing!!

  • Hi all, truly wonderful wonderful song - why is Clarence so upset?

  • awesome

  • The Boss. wow. Nobody has ever equaled his performances. He gives it...all.

  • Clarence,

I have always thought this is one of the best sax solos I have ever heard in my life. You were and/are a substantial part of this band. Bruces second hand man next to one of the top lead guitarists Stevie as well. Thank you for your talent.

  • one of his gratest songs, and one of the best songs ever

  • 200 years from now, when someone wonders what rock and roll was, they should be given this to listen to. Love seeing Clarence gather himself before his big solo.

  • this must be the best thing my eyes and ears must have seen and heard in 29 years

  • @giub81 agreed

  • RIP danny

  • 3:39 = EPIC

  • Massive! that is what the E street band is. they radiate raw power, and play songs that have such a huge presence, like Jungleland and Badlands. Born to run is not as huge as these, but the sheer speed and roar of the engine at work as it blazes across the stage makes it truly their best song.

  • <3 <3 my heros <3 <3

  • Definitely one of my favorite Springsteen songs. I agree, I do believe this is one of the best live versions I have ever heard. The E Street band compliments Springsteen's music probably as good as any band for any musician ... ever.

I saw 2 shows during the reunion tour (2000). I saw the March 31st Denver and the May 8th Hartford show. Springsteen performed Jungleland during the Denver show but did not for the Hartford show. However, he did Roulette at Hartford (also one of my favorites).

  • Go SpringSteen!

  • Bruce as his nick name says is " The Boss" no questions asked, I can't believe it's been a year but I went to his two concerts in Manfield, Ma and they were uterally amazing everyone was dancing and was jolly and we didn't even get to see "Jungleland" and honestly we didn't care it still is a life lasting memory!

  • Now in stores; Bruce and the E. Street Band = "London Calling, Live from Hyde Park" it totally ROCKS!!!!!!!! 3 hours of Bruce in front of about 500,000 or so people. Check it out.

  • the amazing thing is,within 15 seconds of finishing the song,he's starting the next one. He could easily have milked that performance for minutes if he had wanted to.

  • @zolaarmy I love the way that Bruce plays, he keeps people up out of their seats, and it's amazing, i went to my first concert of his in November, in Detroit with the E-Street Band, and I was smiling the entire time because he was so amazing. He never takes breaks in between songs. It's sad that that tour may have been his last with the band though...

  • bellisima, mi emoziona sempre

  • Class - don't need to say (type!) anymore

  • How can you dislike this song!? It is one of the best songs EVER, and this is one of the greatest versions of it too!

  • megabutt05 is a total queer and likes black guys to pound on his tight butthole for hours and hours. The more he screams, the harder they slam!

    ha Ha ha

  • FANTASTIC:::::::::::

  • think i watch this at least twice a wekk and have done for the last year!!!!! what a perfomance!!!!

  • something really sexy about bruce....

  • @EGM52 With the old comment about posting an HD version once reaching a certain number of subscribers/hits, it appears as if this is still the old version. Hey, no biggy, it's the balls either way! Thanx for posting it!!!

  • Simply Awesome

  • i could have seen him 2 years ago with my dad - however he arranged them for the saturday and i had my exams on the monday so i didnt go and he sold the tickets...BIG mistake

  • this is *almost* as good as being there!

  • it gives me gosling pimples!! I saw him in 79 between the holidays ... then in the early 80's when you had to mail away to get your tickets!! I felt so privileged that I got 4 tickets to see the boss AND the big man and heard them play Santa!!

  • Incredible! Where's the HD version?

  • @nantasketph This is the HD version.

  • everytime iwatch this i have to like again

  • Beneath the city two hearts beat: mine and yours. Mine beats for you, you already know that. Let yours do the same for me honey. I know you will let it.

    LOVE YOU SWEETIE. ALWAYS.

  • my favorite part about this and other classic songs, is how the crowd cheers once they realize which song it is

  • I don't understand how people can dislike this.

There's isn't even words for how amazing this is.

This performance, this song, even Bruce Springsteen himself are all just astonishing :')

  • Epic.

  • wow roy bittan

  • Wow got to love that that sax solo. The piano and of course the Boss himself . Just a great performance.

  • There are no words to describe what magic The E Street Band really is... best to just listen I guess!

  • Such an amazing performance... I was lucky enough to be in the audience that night. Unforgettable is an inadequate word for how profound this show was.

  • Those 22 dislikes can go to hell, and 44 sec in my body tingles every time with that beautiful epic piano.

  • Fuckin awesome.

  • Don't forget Danny Federici, as he's the only one who can no longer show his skills. The E Street Band are a bunch of talented musicians and we can only be grateful they have no ego's and play together without any issues in between them.

  • @Curunirvana Danny was a brilliant player, may he rest in peace. He was one of the true veterans of the e street band - like clarence and gary, he was there on that fateful recording in 1972, when the legend was born.

  • @Curunirvana Not anymore.... :(

  • @Curunirvana one year later, now the big man cant either

  • I was there. Never, ever will I forget that night. GREAT post.

  • hd version plox!

  • jon landau, when he worked for rolling stone, in 1975 sed that the boss (a name unknown then) would be the NBT. This was in the day whn people were hoping the beatles would reunute.

Landau was right. A poet, musician, and simply the best america can produce.

  • @Anselcat1952 i would disagree bob dylan by far had the best lyrics ever bruce was just the bob dylan to rock and roll

  • how have i not seen this until now? incredible. rip danny

  • great sax solo

    one of the best ever

  • doooooooown iiiiiiiiiiiiin juuuuuungleeeeeeeee laaaaaaaaaaaaand

  • Still has a great voice.

  • Bravo! What a passionate performance. I saw him in concert last year and he was so lame. One of the worst I have seen. Down there with Michael Bolton. Thunder Road and Born to Run saved the night. This crowd got a much better show. Lucky.

  • this is my favourite song of all time and this is probably the best version of it ive ever heard. 2:02 is just breathtaking.

however, i have to say, there is no way patti scialfa would get to join in on this piece of magic if she wasnt sleeping with the boss. i would call her contribution 'minimal'.

  • @tingtongtaylor 2.02 epic

  • Pardon, I was wrong

  • Clarence Clemons has to be the best saxophone player there is!

  • @IfYouMust821 I think Charlie Parker's ghost would have something contrary to say on that matter. But Clarence is a fine horn player.

  • roy is the greatest pianist to every play rock and roll. He is my inspiration and this song is the one song that got me into the piano

  • possibly, the best live performance ever

posiblemente, la mejor representacion jamas hecha de un tema en directo

  • Good that saxophone gives me chills!

  • Saw this live, shortly before Dani died, my grandpa is a huge fan and used to hang with Bruce on the Shore before he was a big deal, and when I saw this Clarence was amazing, sooooo good.

  • Brucie, The E-Street Band, Big Clarence the legend playin the best sax solo ever. What else can you say apart from ad like this played at my funeral. The best song of all time and my personal favourite of all time. Different class from the Boss.

  • Nice call kid. I had it 2:50 for CCs sax work. Best song of all time with the best Rock and Roll sax work. Was this concert before or after 9/11?

    MJ

  • Best performance of all time, I've seen the stones, the police, tom petty, biggie, tupac and countless others, but nothing even compares to this one at the garden

  • i hate his wife.... :| love him :) amazing :)

  • Yes, but it's TOO similar to Romeo and Juliet by Dire Strait... isnt it?

  • @brisicche49

    jungleland - 1975

    romeo and juliet - 1980

  • @brisicche49

    Which came first??????

I think you'll find that Jungleland was released before Romeo and Juliet........

  • @brisicche49 Think you'll find that this was written before Dire Straits

  • @brisicche49 Besides that Jungleland is written earlier, the studio version of Romeo & Juliet is very different from the live version on their album 'On the Night' (from 1992). So I don't know what you want to tell with your command, but you have to give Bruce fully credit for this masterpiece. Maybe Dire Straits got inspired by Bruce?

  • Who else jizzed?

  • amazing performance but i think we must also recognize roy bittan for one hell of a piano performance. i feel he tends to et overshadowed by clarence and stevie.

  • @nwest013 Roy was absolutely amazing in this, as he always is. He doesn't always get much credit, but he's always in the background being amazing.

  • @nwest013 But, he shouldn't. When I listen to Springsteen songs, I hear the essential piano, bass and drums. The guitars and sax add a great dimension to the songs, but I think Roy, Max and Gary set the table for all the rest.

  • @nwest013 most definately mate

  • @nwest013 you are correct, of course. But Max is also neglected. He is a monster drummer.

  • God bless this band everyday

  • So do we get an HD version now or is that the 480?

  • I've been listening to this track since 1978, I've always loved it but this is by far the best version ever..Clarence is unquestionably the highlight of the entire piece. I don't think any sax player ever played a rock piece so well. The poetry is beautiful.

The soundtrack of my adult life.

  • the sax RULES

  • @99999janie He fucked-up if you listen!

  • @AClarke2007 The last person that never fucked up got nailed to a cross supposidly

  • Immense

  • fourth row for this one baby!!

  • The Sax solo makes me want to orgasm

  • if anyone tells you that this isn't the best damn sax-sole EVER, than that one is a damned liar (and complete deaf also)

  • A pleasure to watch and listen to something so real. Thanks to Bruce and the band for years of memories and great music. He really is the Boss

  • absolute genius of an epic song and the sax is the cherry on

    the top

  • Long Live The Rat and the barefoot girl!

  • i was there for this wonderful show, left the building walking on air, thanks bruce!!!!

  • What, a triple post? Wow something's wrong, sorry everyone.

  • Wow what run at 9:08. Professor Roy Bittan is awesome. Really awesome. Probably my favourite piano player. The last 10 minutes were breath-taking!

  • Wow what run at 9:08. Professor Roy Bittan is awesome. Really awesome. Probably my favourite piano player. The last 10 minutes were breath-taking!

  • Little Steven's guitar solo in this is absolutely epic. If you do not like this song you have absolutely not taste in music. Long live the Boss.

  • the big man's finest hour.

    Absolutely. Never better. Absolutely epic.
