  • Nice job, bro!

I've been listening to a bunch of versions of House Capenter here on YouTube so I can arrange it into "folk-punk" song for a 6 to 8 piece band. I've been listening to Pentangle's version for 40 years. One of my favorites. Again, great job!!

It ought to be interesting to see what I can do with it since I don't know how to play clawhammer. I only play Irish style with a plectrum on a tenor banjo.

  • Hello QRS. This is a great version with a wonderful melody . Great singing alone towards the end . I do love the tone you get from your banjo as well .. Have you heard the version Clarence Ashley did with Doc Watson and Fred Price .. (at any rate made at those sessions ) . Its in Sawmill tuning as well. .

  • Thanks! Very kind of you!

  • Thanks for the comment, Guywolff. It warms my heart! The only problem I have with this camera is that I get no bass at all :( It sounds ok in some songs but some not. I have heard many versions of the House Carpenter but not with Fred Price. Will have to check that out. Thanks for the hint!

  • great!
