Well, i garuntee you this. If i ever have children, they will know exactly what guns do and why they can be dangerous. They will also know what to do with any guns i make available for them to use.
man i wish there were more people like you, im getting tired of all the aholes that say guns are bad, i wish they were gone and never existed and i hope that they get rid of them, theres nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership and the armed citizen.
Armed persons are citizens. Unarmed persons are subjects. In 48 states that have enacted some form of CCW violent crime (murder, rape, robbery) has fallen. This is a real and true fact. Check the national DOJ stats.
the shooting that just happened in arizona thats what happens when you put guns in citizens hands that little girl and those other people died cuz that guy obtained a firearm
@shananagans5 i dont care about in your home but not on your side cuz your not trained to keep the bad guy from taking the weapon away from you also some one with a mean temper with a gun the result will be very dangerous
@worshipjesuschristan Actually it wasn't in my home. A single case doesn't matter anyways. You have to look at the body of criminology literature which clearly shows gun laws don't effect overall rates of index crime.
@worshipjesuschristan That is funny My grandfather that is 76 years old lives in a rural part of Mexico, and he encountered a drug cartel YES A CARTEL and beleive it or not they were threatening him and if he didnt pull out his pistol he wouldn't be alive. He was in a group called "Los Rurales" when he was a young man they put firearms in their hands, and they are pretty much Militia and that is his gun from when he was younger prove your point i have proven your mind and get out of here.
If the SC decision had gone against Mr. McDonald and they said that people didn't have the right, I think that a lot of us (me included) would have become instant criminals. To quote Charlton, "out of my cold dead hands"! Good Vid. Thanks.
i like how you said that you wont hear about it, because it makes sense. The media shows what they want to and they are insanely biased, they will stop at nothing to push their agenda on people, and its unfortunate that to many people allow themselves to be brainwashed by these people.
and Wisconsin (my home state) doesn't have concealed carry either, but hopefully these elections coming up can change that.
and i have got to get on amaazon and get this book.
Derek- IL is working on a bill called HB 5751. Effectively, it places a ban on all semi automatic firearms, including and especially those with an ammunition capacity over 10 rounds. It picks especially on mil spec style rifles but does not differentiate between the sporting firearm of similar style and the so called "Assault" weapons that they are trying to ban. Thank you for your video. I intend to create one of my own. I agree with your perspectives and will look for a copy of the book.
I love my weapons and i would not give them up for anything thanks for the vid but as for the people who think guns are bad what happens when there the victims of crime with guns now it not so bad to have one ? huh dumb asses
The system of government our founders gave us was based on this principle, that government's sole purpose should be to defend the rights of the people.
Be wary of the government which seeks to limit, or outright infringe on your rights.
"They who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. "
I do not agree with concealed carry fully. If somebody is concealing a weapon they could be planning to do something terrible. I think that at least one weapon should be in plain view so to offer a visual deterrence to those that would cause them harm. It's just like the rational to keeping Nuc's. We don't have them to use them but to deter the use of them against us. as long as one gun is in view I think that you should have the right to conceal other guns.
It's a hard subject. Legalization of concealed carry is great, but it can be exploited by criminals. The idea of "sheepdogs" by nutnfancy, I agree with 100%. The police can't be everywhere at all times. But when it is easier for good people to get ahold of guns, it is also much easier for criminals.
Here in Norway, I hear very little about murder with weapons. You can also imagine how hard it is to have weapons, when they are so seldom to see. People get suspicious if you got pistols in house
@AlucardDraculaFTW we have 300 million citizens. norway has 5 million citizens.of course we are going to have a higher anything stat. AS GEORGE WASHINGTON SAID YOU CAN TELL A FREE COUNTRY BY THEIR GUN LAWS. SLAVES DONT OWN GUNS. no disrespect meant. just an amendment in our constitution i strongly agree with.
It doesn't matter how many citizens our country has, I was not talking roughly how many people murder. I was talking about the murder rate PER CAPITA. That means percentage of the population. It wouldn't matter if you had 3 billion people and we had 10 000 :P it's rate :)
I'm not sure if I agree with the americans second amendment or not. Cause here in Norway you have to have a permit from the police and a reason to have a firearm. For example if you are a hunter, or in a shooting club. Concealed carry is not allowed. But we have less crime. Murder rate is 4 times lower than USA (ratio per capita of course). And our police don't even need to go around with firearms. They only carry batons and pepperspray.
But on the other side, I understand the nutnfancy thing
@AlucardDraculaFTW - Your point is very valid. I believe the reason for your finding has to do with the difference in citizens interms of quality. The United States is rather intresting in that it contains large and violent street gangs (like what you might find in poorer countries) and a well meaning middle class (like many that you find in more developed ,European countries).
"Laws don't stop the bad people" was such a retardedly obvious statement... And thats why i am probably going to use it for every single argument about guns for the rest of my life lol. It is such a simple way to to put it, but it makes a ton of sense. Thank you, great video!
@Retrieverman1 it makes countries think twice orr 3 times b4 invading!, and lessens crime. plus back when the constitution was written, the general population had to feed themselves, there weent many gocery stores back then so u needed a rifle to hunt. it has many positve sides, and the negatives include crazy people or ignorant ones. bad things can happen with guns, but a population w/o them is screwed in my book, vulnerable to many things, they are.
great vid, couldn't agree with you more. the sad reality is anti'gunners don't like facts, they love fiction and fear mongering, they feel that without guns tradgies such as the VT masacre would never happen but completly ignore the FACT that a man in Germany invaded a school with axes and molotov cocktails, with similar results, I guess these anti-gunners would also like a ban on axes, bottles, knives and the such, untill all food comes precut for you.
Governor Quinn also signed HB 3714, which states that as a condition of probation and conditional discharge, a person shall automatically be prohibited from possessing a firearm only if the offense was either a felony, or a misdemeanor that "involved bodily harm."
Despite the urging of anti-gun groups, Governor Pat Quinn (D) signed House Bills 182 and 3714. HB 182 will simply change the "Unlawful Use of Weapons" (UUW) law, allowing a law-abiding citizen to carry a firearm in his dwelling or in the dwelling or on the land of another person where he has been invited.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
"More Guns; Less Crime": Read it. Loved it. It was the most well supported argument for or against guns I have ever seen.
"The Cultural Bias Against Guns" also by John Lott is another very good book on the subject. John Lott is an economist. This means he is trained to look at the numbers, not the ideals (unlike political scientists).
I hope we (the citizens of Illinois) get this legislation. However, Chicago is full of a bunch or morons who will oppose this logic no matter what.
we all have heard the old folkes talk about ,,we never locked our doors at night .......hmmmm do ya think that bad people knew that most people had a gun and the will shoot you ....that is the best way to keep crime down ... the bad guys knowing that thier will be a penalty for thier actions and no cops needed until they need to write the report...
I agree wit youTex. I live in southern Illinois just up the hill from East St. Louis and crime is WAY out of control and it sucks that we are not allowed to protect ourselves. As soon as we get CCW crime will drop conciderably. But until then I guess I will have to be a criminal myself and carry illegally just to protect me and mine. The cops simply cannot do it alone.
exactly i live up north a hour west of rockford and i agree we should be able to have CCW because you cant depend on the police and you cant carry a cop on you
that is the reason illinois has so much rape and other crime Tennessee has carry permits for any law abiding citizens to carry great video man. them anti guns lobbiest are panzies like obama wants to impose another assault wepons ban
@radioactivesludge23 assault weapons are a different story than a hand gun or a rifle. i own several weapns and carry a .45 pretty much daily. i am however completely for a ban on all automatic weapons. theres no reason "jim-bob" should be able to go to the gun store and get a military grade weapon. honestly what could you possibly use it for? when they made the 2nd amendment their rifles could fire 3 times a minute not 3 times a second.
@zeroflat24 When the bill of rights was passed, citizens had full access to the most cutting edge military rifles of the time period. The assault weapons ban has nothing whatsoever to do with class 3 fully automatic weapons, merely semi-autos that look "military grade". Anyways, there are perfectly legitimate self defense and sporting uses for select fire and fully automatic weapons.
@RebelWrestler45 so you believe that a semi/fully automatic .223 or some other fully auto assault weapon would be better at home defense than a shotgun? i have to seriously disagree with that. i can see the "sporting" uses merely as an entertainment item. but since the day i started hunting i never considered using a semi auto assault rifle as a means of bringing down game. like i said i have quite a few weapons i just dont get the assault rifle obsession.
@zeroflat24 Assault rifle is a misnomer, there is no such thing as a semi-automatic assault rifle, assault rifles are select fire automatic. I would much rather have a select fire AR than a shotgun for home defense; for accuracy, maneuverability, shot recovery, and lethality. Also, I take it you're never been razorback hunting in the southeast, a charging herd of feral hogs are best taking care of by use of an autoloader.
@RebelWrestler45 i dont dispute the feral dog thing. (im from the north east so no feral dogs here) but i still disagree with the home defense. id rather have a shotgun loaded with some 00 buck shot and worry less about accuracy and more about distruction. i wouldnt be worried about shouldering the weapon (to save time) so much as i would be to hip fire it, if i knew my shot was in the ball park.
@zeroflat24 Feral dog? I clearly said feral hog, or razorbacks. Unlike you, I don't want to wing or wound an attacker or intruder, I want accurate instantly lethal shot placement. No weapon should be hip fired at a target presenting a lethal threat, unless said threat is within physical striking distance, where control of the weapon may be put into jeopardy. I think you've been watching one too many movies, and not enough days out on the range.
@RebelWrestler45 wait, you think in close quarters a shot gun is going to "wing" an intruder? i dont know about you but my house isnt a mansion. there isnt a place in my 3 bedroom house that i would ever chose a rifle over a shotgun. you dont think a shot gun blast from less than 10 feet is lethal shot placement? i have spent years at the range. enough to know im not playing urban combat in my living room.
I personally like a shotgun for home defense. My preferred round for the 12 bore is the rifled slug. I have also used the Winchester 2 3/4 inch magnum "00 Buckshot" round with copper coated pellets.

it's like anti gun activist dont know theres crazy people out there,iv been in the situation it is better to have a gun.if you dont i kinda think your stupid just based on the fact of better safe than sorry.
In a perfect world, no one would need guns, and we'd all be safe without having to protect ourselves. But the world is not so. And the first step toward this perfect world is NOT to disarm all the good people.

And thanks for the sympathy - I'm From Australia, man its insane! The laws here are so tight its not funny!
Even with a license which I have, I'm still restricted to certain fire arms, not to mention the madness surrounding having a license for a hand gun!
What's even more crazy is how law enforcement can come into your home at anytime to inspect where your keeping your guns and ammo!
And the madness that surrounds the legality behind this is even worse!

lol, shocked as a hell.
In a perfect world, no one would need guns, and we'd all be safe without having to protect ourselves. But the world is not so. And the first step toward this perfect world is NOT to disarm all the good people.
Great video, Tex, way to point us to some good material, and base your views in solid fact.
