You know what? She's not the greatest singer ever, but with her looks she could quite easily have sold out and gone to Cowell and co. to get a big hit. Massive credit to her for not doing that and also for bringing Tom Waits to the consciousness of the uninitiated.

And she's very easy on the eye too.

@znikacz Hey, that's not fair. I only found out about Tom Waits through Scarlett Johansson - so I'm "uninitiated" - but I'm so glad I did find out about Tom Waits because I think he's amazing. It doesn't matter how you find music, just that you do find it and love it and develop a connection to it. We find out about all music from /somewhere/. But I do agree that Scarlett Johansson has a surprisingly pleasant voice and I enjoyed her version.

yeah this is my fav also. i think she sounds better than what we hear becuz the music to me, is too loud. she is kinda drowned out. -when i sing my dog howls. so to me she sounds pretty good. :)

thinks she has a soft and naturel voice, one you can fall asleep to! thats so nice i think it is. soft and sweet and she is beautiful which is just a side benefit :)

that's a very mature way to see it. i'm way old enough to be your mom or older and it just goes to show when you see a person as they are and not what they look like, that's so cool. It is prob one of my fav movies ever. off the subject but another fantastic movie is "wrestling earnest hemingway"...everyone should see it. heart warming yet funny both.

this movie is just wonderful. I think it is the most meanest love story, between two worlds, two persons, two stories. Soulmates. Absolutly amazing. And this song should be the theme :)

I think a lot of people might say that scarlet doesn't necessarily have a the biggest talent for singing, but I'd have to say I love this version. To me it just sounds so honest and sincere and thats a quality that's often overlooked with performers. thumbs up to scarlet for this one i'd have to say and thanx for the post

It's a given, anything Bowie sings or adds to is going to sound better. Being a huge Bowie fan since 1971 i Still like Scarlett's voice (being someone who cannot sing myself) if Tom W. who i also like, can sing it then so can she. I only feel the whole album would have been better with her low voice louder and the music softer. it swallowed her up. Still love it tho. thanks for your comment :)

hi. i just watched the movie "again" the other night. i want a recorder so i can make movie clips instead of just pics..there are parts that were so tender left out of this slide vid that fit her singing. i love bill tho also and like it when he plays a serious part. at the end 'as someone was wanting to know..i think he said " I have to go but i won't let it come between us" :(

hi marjorie, i know what you mean. My husband liked it and he's quite a bit younger than me so some ppl do. I think too often ppl want something fast action where they don't have to think or feel emotion. I seem to like alot of movies that aren't real popular...to me it was extremely emotional and heart warming. At the end i wanted to hear what he was saying to her.....i found a vid here that tells you...ty for commenting. :)
