  • Yes! I am going to be an urban planning major!

  • @.@

  • @1STACCS "but a streetcar is real good for the auto industry" what do u mean?? this doesnt make any sense... no gas... less cars... less polution... ya, this is great for auto industrys...

@xosparkii11 LOL, the fact that it didnt pass means that their is a better chance of getting one... if it had passed it would have put up a bunch of buricartical bullshit in the way to stop progress.. thank god for idiots like you who voted wrong for the right reason.. lol.. -PEACE

  • I live in Cincinnati and I totallly did not want the streetcar(: thank goodness it didn't pass! and I'm planning on going to UC. and how about them bearcats(: sugar bowl heree we come(:

  • Thats real great. Advocate for mass communist transportation and make the fine folks who like to express individuality by driving fine cars look politically incorrect. Streetcars were good for their time circa 1920, but it isn't 1920 anymore. I hate to add sarcasm here, but a streetcar is real good for the auto industry! Ditch the streetcar and buy a Town Car. Visit your Tri State Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealer today!

  • hahahahah..what are u trying to do/? pretty good..hope it does not pass

  • What the heck is a "Bearcat"?

  • omg your like the only smart and hot guy ive ever even known of. marry me please:)

  • I'm smitten with you, kid -- you're the shizz. I wish I was a producer. Stay Good.

  • well said brother...win win

  • Great video and great win!

Congrats to you and others who actively opposed 9 for helping the people of Cincinnati make sane transportation choices.

    Nice work.

  • if i lived in cincinnati i would vote no. that was a very convincing argument. i hope it worked out yesterday...

  • *sniff* *sniff*

Look...our little Wade is talking big-time politics and everything.....*sniff* *sniff*

  • Waow, i'm from Belgium (Brussels) and streetcars (we call them "trams") are our main connection in most part of the cities, also the metro and buses are very important.

I knew that in most big cities in the states its hard to get from one point to the other if u dont have a car, but i ignored that the politics were most han partly responsable for that.

    Give us some updates!

  • I'm in Minnesota and i watched this whole thing. good work! hope it doesn't pass!

    :]

  • Thanks Wade! This was very informative!!!! :)

  • Your soo smart! <3

I live in Canada but if i could i would vote JUST because of this video and JUST because you know what your talking about :P :D

  • If Cincinnati gets a street car/ trolley you'll have to cover Judy Garland's "Trolley Song" in celebration.

  • you adorable in oklahoma here and still listened to the whole vid, keep up the activism

  • WADE! youre just too adorable. i sat through that entire video. i live in virginia.

  • im going to go ahead and love you for being politically aware and realizing where government affects you.

i am a sr in high school and future political science major and this video makes me happy.

  • Hey, I'm an Urban Planning Student at Arizona State University! anyways Phoenix has this same problem, we just completed a light rail which is awesome!!

  • I agree. Lets vote NO on issue 9. Not only for the street car project, but also the for the 3C's project to get the train through Cleveland, Columbus, (possibly Dayton), and Cincinnati. I needs to happen.

  • what is a bearcat?

  • your mum

  • Streetcars are a very good idea. However, using Federal money to fund them is not - there is never a free lunch in this world. Also, it is unwise to diminish voting power of the electorate for expediency; this will come back to bite you .

    Love your Uke playing Wade.

  • If I lived in Cincinnati, I would support you for sure, but I don't. You did a great job of laying this out, and I hope that a lot of people see this and are convinced.

It seems ridiculous to me that the issue would be raised in the first place because if the streetcar project is already planned, it would make so much more sense to just vote on that directly now rather than vote whether to vote on it. Who's the genius who came up with that?

  • I'm with ya fellow DAAPer!

  • SING WADE!!!!!!

  • When will the Wade Johnston T-shirts become available? Now you can do one for "Say no to 9"

  • Ugh, I wish that I had an absentee ballot right now. . . I'm a Cinci resident currently out of town at college. I love your dedication, though Wade. Awesome job. Whenever I would drive on Central Parkway I would always wish that they would have finished the subway that they started below it.

Cincinnati has such potential and a rich history. The streetcar system would really help bring life back to downtown. I'll let my siblings/parents know.

  • Well said Wade. I'm on the NKY side of the river, so I can't vote. I support the project completely though. I visited Dallas earlier this year and used their streetcar system. Cincinnati needs this!

  • I;m glad you made this. You give really good speeches. I'd so vote "NO," but I don't live in Cincinnati. D:

  • Nice job, Wade. You are a good advocate. The City should hire you for its PR team.

  • boom book homework brohime

  • I'd love to vote No, but I'm on the other side of the world.

    Good luck with it anyway.

  • ohhh... i love you even more now!! hahaha

  • Oh my goodness Wade. That was intense. I'd totally vote NO!

  • Hey - Like your music.

Was this a school project or just a matter of personal interest?

Also, I'm a civil engineering student at University of Louisville planning on getting a Masters in Engineering, but then I'm pairing it with Urban Planning. Was wondering how you like the program at UC? I have several friends going there who like the school, but I haven't heard anything about the specific program.

    Keep rockin' it.

    P.S. - I'm a ukulele-r as well. Ukuleles are too much fun.

  • 4:33 "returning our SHity" haha, come on Wade!

  • Good luck Wade. The return of the street car in Dallas was actually restoration of older cars and track that was still in the street. That in itself was effect in attracting businesses to its line. Ultimately Dallas' light rail was a major blessing.

  • impressive info.

you made some good points; i hope that it all works out the way you hope down there!!

    :)

  • Not to mention, streetcars/lightrails will greatly reduce the amounht of pollution we release into the atmosphere. Buses are so much more harmful to the environment.

  • You nerd. Good job.

  • i would vote no...but i dont live there...so this comment is kindda pointless lol

  • that sounds like a somewhat good idea where im from (illinois)...but not so good anywhere else

  • you my friend are very articulate.

  • ". . . the presence of street car tracks will stimulate the creation of businesses near them." WRONG

  • Hahaha are you kidding? People are guaranteed to always be getting off at wherever the tracks are...bus routes can change.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! by streetcars you mean trams. cool.

  • you'll totally have to tell us what the results are!!!

  • heh hehe. "bumpily".

  • keep us updated to the result

  • Streetcars are a 19th century transportation mode. Streetcars running every seven minutes as you describe would create traffic nightmares, and the operating costs would be astronomical. The last public transportation mode that I was impressed with was when I visited Edinburgh, Scotland. They had buses running every few minutes which ran on CNG or propane...very little pollution.

  • Portland's Metro has the same problem with unreliability, I wish we had the street car option.

  • i'm moving to cincinnati right now tio vote no. meet me at the polls and bring your guitar. :)

  • He plays ukelele, LOL

  • and guitar, harmonica, banjo, and a little accordian if i'm not mistaken. big fan are you?

  • go Wade. Keep Ohio awesome!!!

  • good luck wade!

I miss your music videos, you haven't posted in ages!

  • i live in cincinnati. my parents voted no.

  • really cool dude! you're an urban planning major? i didnt know those existed!

  • I wish I lived in Cincinnati. I would vote.

  • Best of luck!!!

  • yeah yeah yeah streetcars . . . you're hot.

no but seriously, i'd totally vote no. holla.

  • ahaha <3

  • (chuckle)...bumpily. streetcars FTW!

  • Haven't heard about that light rail system but that sounds awesome. Being in Cleveland I defiantly see a benefit for that and the streetcars.

  • very nicely put. streetcars are pretty awesome. :)

i wish you guys the best of luck!

  • just use scooters or rollerblades. they're tons of fun AND they dont use up and electricity or fuel.

  • Well read Wade!

  • Streetcar = Tram!?

  • A vital "downtown" is crucial to the health and wealth of city metropoitan areas, and trickles out to the entire circle of outer suburbs.

I was present when Washington, D.C . built it's very extensive underground/overground subway hubs at a great dollar cost. The payback has been legend.

  • they should call it lightrail. streetcar sounds so 19th century.

I'd vote for NO if I lived in Cincy. We elect officials to make these kind of decisions. Trying to make the populace vote for every decision is a horribly inefficient way to run our cities, counties, states and country. If you don't like the way your elected representatives are making decisions, vote for someone else.

  • I wish WE had streetcars... and I hope you guys get them.

  • Delay...it should be stopped completely. What would encourage commercial development is less crime. I'm from the area, and I'll sorry, but I'm against the street car. VOTE YES!

Love the rest of your videos though.

  • I'm sorry, but the only way you're going to be a target of crime in OTR is if you're looking for trouble or to buy/sell drugs.

  • Crime is statistically linked to the lack of commercial activity and commerce. Street cars will provide jobs and transportation for a less expensive means. it will also help bring more commerce and help with Crime prevention/reduction, which is responsibility of people and businesses. If not streetcar, then what? What is your solution? And is that solution viable enough to help the community, provide jobs, stimulate the commerce, & provide easy transportation for commuters needs?

  • I would love it if Cincy got streetcars! I live in the Greater Cincinnati area and love to sit in the streetcar inside Union Terminal and soak in the history. This was a great part of our history and should be reintroduced. Not only are streetcars deeply in the heart of Cincinnati culture, it fits right in with Vision 2015!

  • i really dont understand how you made a video about voting no on an issue... 6 minutes and 5 seconds long... its almost impressive...

  • When you get done in Cincy come to Dayton!

  • My dad is from this area, and it'd be awesome to see one of these when I visit my family! PLEASE VOTE!

  • GO WADE!

    WADE FOR GOVERNOR! :)

  • bumpally? :)

  • interesting, although i'm from Glasgow, Scotland :L

  • accent? :D

  • Edinburgh. We're lumped with that stupid tram thing that's costing something like 3 times it's "estimated" amount.

  • driving in Cincinnati is THE WORST. I support this message.

  • that wasn't a very good song

  • hahaha

  • Agreed. Though it WAS an important message. IF I lived in Cincinnati.

  • interesting video.... but please play more music!
