i remember when i was on holiday on our friends sugar farm in south africa when i was 17 in the '70's riding the 110 and having one of the best times of my life riding all over this huge estate through rivers up steep slopes and making use of the low ratio gears just by switching over the lever..this video bought me back many memories. thanks.
Is it too much of an ask for you to post a video, explaining how the dual range transmission works, and even better, seeing it in action? Subscribed, in case I get lucky ;)
Have you ever had to change a front and/or rear sprocket on the CT110AG? I heard it's almost impossible to change the front sprocket, but I'm not sure how much of that is from personal experience, and how much of it is CT110 ex postie bike fanboy talk.
@jigmesam I had to change the sprokets on the ct 90 and the 110. There is alot involved in doing it...the side covers and transmission gears for the hi-low selector has to be removed to get to the front drive sproket...i did it from a workshop manual... i couldnt find a new rear sproket for the ct90 i had to use a 110 one which i needed to widen the centre hole with a lathe to fit.If you are replacing the chain ,both the front and rear sprokets have to be replaced also.
@vinto34 Cheers Vinto. I've replaced chains and sprockets on MCs before, but I keep hearing people saying how "impossible" changing the front sprocket is and I'm getting a bit weary of hearing it. Wanted some info. Sounds very possible and just required removing a few more parts than the sprocket cover as you normally would. If you have some mechanical ability and knowledge, sounds like no problems. Thanks again. Any luck on getting the new video of the trans for me? *wink*
@jigmesam Type in cttrailbikes in your browser scroll down to the pic ct90 engine rebuild click on the pic of the engine it will show the engine being dismantled for rebuild...pic 9 is the hi/low tranfer gears showing the lever underneath which slides the gears accross from high to low range.
The posties in australia and new zealand use the ct 110 as postie bikes, but you are right in this case,as mine are farm bikes, which are a different model.I have changed the caption.
I knew that they are used for postie bikes and that they are farm bikes too, but I meant because there were trikes and quads. Ohwell. Nice video. I'm Aussie by the way so I knew what you were trying to say
ct postie bikes are dead cool, we don't really see em hear very often. but i would love one.

Nice video but why is the title "Honda postie bikes"? There's a quad and a trike?
It should be Honda farm bikes

The 1972 ct90 looks in good order,i like the original side reserve fuel tank.I used to have a 1979 ct90,and it served me well.
