  • Well, I have never seen a group marching so far away from the band and keeping the step so well. Of course, having Mr. Mott so close behind them, they do their very best. Or else.

  • And the Regimental Sergeant Major brings up the rear to make sure that everyone ahead of him is doing what he is supposed to do and God help anyone who isn't.

RSMs can be like that ... in my experience, anyway...

  • @MarsFKA He is Billy Mott, GSM London District.

  • Is the little person...a young person...around 1:00?

  • @dudemantwo No, he is a fully fledged adult guardsman.

  • @troopingadmin

He is ridiculously short though, can't imagine the amount of ridicule he used to get or very well may still be getting.

  • @dudemantwo There used to be height limits, but they got rid of them.

  • Hope you all enjoyed my march "Advance to Glory" - Look out for my next one this year "Provectus ut Vir"

  • @MrGregMM Hi Greg, Very much looking forward to hearing it. Did you win the competition with it again?

  • @troopingadmin Thanks - Yes, apparently I have sneaked off with the trophy and the prize money once again ;) I think that this one is a better march than Advance to Glory, but that's me - feel free to let me know what you think of the new one, good or bad.

    Best regards

  • @MrGregMM Many congratulations, Greg! What does the Latin title translate to?

  • About 50 seconds in look at the extreme right of the first platoon............how did that stumpy little fecker get into the

Guards? wouldn't have happened in my day!

  • Hmmmm, he IS a little short, isn't he.........

  • you can almost hear the cry from a few hundred years ago.........the english are coming....and they still yell it,

  • Is there a fitness requirement for bandsmen?

  • you must pass the bft and all soldiers will go through basic training

  • The GSM is the all eyes, all ears of organising a military parade. He is walking at the rear of the guards discussing the parade with the Officer on horseback commanding the rehearsal of Trooping The Colour. He has to answer to the Officer on all points of the parade being "The Oracle"!

  • Does anybody know where we could get a recording of "Advance to Glory" ? Great march!

  • If you buy the CD with music from Trooping the Colour, you will have 2 minutes of this rousing march. Fab march idd! A+++
