i have watched this movie many times. But whenever I get free time, I still come back to this movie. The characters are so well knit and the story line is so simple, I just see myself in the movie. It might seem slow to some, but nothing happens fast in our lives too. Especially when good things start to happen, the changes are slow and steady.

@CutieTheGP yes old movies are golden movies as they have beautiful theme in them,,last week I saw " Ek Chitthi pyar Bhari" very nice movie, then I remember "pyar ke do pal", "piya ka ghar", likewise many ..I try to watch old movies almost every week or so..and I have no cable at home because I watch movies of my choice..In Cable they show only black and blue movies full of smuggling, rapes,pop music, cheating, sex. Although few new movies are also good but on average old are best.

There was one attempt to copy the plot in a Govinda-Karishma Kapoor Movie in 1990's by the name of Hero No. 1 a David Dhawan film with basic outline similar. In that case however Govinda becomes a cook for his love Karishma because his and her father became enemies and Asrani style character played by Satish Shah.Howveer this was matchless in comic timing, situations and characters were actually closer to life.
