  • of course the fox takes notice of the "baby",it's a DEAD piglet!!!!!!this is in no way a relevent experiment....it's just put out here to frighten people into thinking foxes are a risk to their children....pathetic.

  • @claireyland No, no it's not. Quiet obviously you do not realize that this is a predatory species and is a type of mammal which scavenges for opportunities. This means that ANY potential food source will be taken. If someone left their baby unguarded, one could potentially take the child. It is a perfectly relevant test. Foxes do take live prey don't forget and live prey doesn't smell dead. Also, foxes have been known to take deer fawns and fawns can run. A human child would be an easy meal.

  • This has NEVER HAPPENED in recorded history. I dare you to cite one instance where a fox has taken a baby from a stroller or even killed a child. Again, in recorded history, NOT A SINGLE HUMAN BEING has ever been directly killed by a fox. Only indirectly by contracting something like rabies, for example.

This is nothing but FEAR MONGERING. Fear mongering for the sake of promoting your needles blood-"sport".

  • @soundvoiceofreason

I 100% agree-I love foxes and they are nicer than many human beings!!!

  • Wether you agree with this video or not a fox will take anything that is weaker than himself so it won't matter if it an animal or a baby they will select the vulnerable.

  • I'm stunned! So I can't leave my baby out in my garden, crying for an hour in the dark? So annoying those foxes!

  • ahhh a dingo ate my baby!!!!!!!!!

  • Urm and why would anyone leave a baby in pram ALONE! god hunters say us anti's talk about fantasy. Come on! no mother would leave their child in a pram in the middle of the night alone!

  • @stophunting1 What sort of hunting do you want to stop? Just fox hunting?

  • @ihaterobbie123 Hunting with dogs, i dont like that, its cruel its just suffering and pain, and the thought of someone actually enjoying the sight of any animal getting torn apart really makes me sick :/

  • @stophunting1 Funny, you seemed pretty happy that a bow-hunter missed the fox he was aiming at on another video...care to restate your position without lying this time?

Actually just shut up, I already know it. You're against hunting, period.

Wild dogs in Africa eat their prey alive, much crueller than dog hunting, by your logic we should ban that. And before you cry "No, that's nature", I've got a fucking revelation for you...we're part of nature.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Too right, and also if people dont like fieldsports they shouldnt watch it just to whinge on

  • @ihaterobbie123 Dunno where you come from but here in my country we dont shoot foxes as its banned, so it seems your the one who needs to shut it! And there is a fucking difference between setting a bunch of dogs on a fox for FUN (fucking disgusting) than a wild dog eating to survive! so up yours! right back at ya! your not the only one who can come up with cocky and sarcastic come backs!

  • @stophunting1 So because YOUR country banned the shooting of foxes that means my discovery that you lied about your stance on hunting is now invalid?

Next time you come up with a "witty" comeback it might be a good idea to retain some coherence. Your argument makes no fucking sense, none whatsoever.

And fox hunting isn't for fun, it's to control the fox population, something which would get out of hands if you had your way.

Foxes are still legally shot, the ban does nothing.

  • @stophunting1 get your facts right before you gob off you fuckin half witted retard, it is NOT illegal to shoot foxes, I am out fox shooting every week on and it's perfectly legal, learn the law u ignorant twat !

  • As far as I can see there is no difference between what you've done and foolish people who feed sharks by hand and wonder why someone loses a limb when the shark thinks there's food about.

All you've proved is that a fox will take a dead piglet. That point is that you've encouraged a fox to think that a pram and a crying baby means food.....and that beggers belief!

  • This is moronic - fox's have a sense of smell...

  • As a professional pest controller i was very disappointed with this video. Baiting a pram with a dead animal is always going to attract scavengers and you will always receive the same result as featured in the video.

If the 'baby' was real the fox would not have even approached the pram let alone take it away.

If i was to place a dead piglet in a pram in the front of my terriers it would end up with the same result but worse, and believe me my dogs would never harm a baby!

  • @seahavenltd what a LOAD of tosh, didd the fox that attacked and almost rip the arm off a child in london, not approach them either, since when do dead piglet emit a crying child noise as this one did, open ur eyes fool!!

  • well done for this vid and for the experiment, although most of us have known for a long time encouraging foxes in to gardens or any were else is just asking for trouble and no use bleating when it finally comes, as said above its the humans who are at fault here leave the foxes were they belong in the wild before its too late...the arguments about it being a dead piglet or anything else is futile foxes have aready shown they will go after human babies if the oppertunity arises.

  • The foxes probably smelled the DEAD piglet. They would never take a live baby out of the stroller. Anything that makes loud noises scares them and they would rather scavenge or hunt small mammals.

  • @TheWesleyKenyon Dave has written above that he had a recording of a crying baby on witch attracted 12 foxes into his garden. there is no way the smell of a dead piglet (witch at the time of year takes a long time to rot) would bring that many foxes into his garden. i have sqeeked foxes in to within 10 yards of me so for you to say they do not like loud noises is a load of rubbish.

  • @TheWesleyKenyon

you obviously havent had many encounters with wild foxes. We had problem last year with a vixen killing and eating healthy lambs up to 16 days old some of which weighed as much as a baby. I have no dubt that a hungry fox especaly an urban one which instead of fearing humans sees them as a source for easy food would attack a baby left on its own.

  • come on lads ,i was waiting for the BOOOOOM

  • i would of shot that...would not have been able to stop myself....they are vermin end of

  • Well done for hosting this video hopefully the idiots will see what they are encouraging. I am gobsmacked to hear that Fieldsports channel personalities have had death threats that's awful.

    ATB Malc

    CPTV

  • @CountryPursuitsTV didn't realise that someone with a different opinions to yours were idiots,

  • @welshfowler Someone that encourages wild and dangerous animals into a urban area so they can watch them and go ahhh is an idiot! If you wanna see fox or other wild stuff get out in the country and see it where it belongs!

  • love how he pissed on it hahaha

  • Whether you agree or not with way this has been portrayed, it highlights the fact that certain wildlife with teeth should not be intentionally fed and especially within an urban environment.

  • @bram461 should foxes be encouraged to take dead animals out of a childs buggy?

  • I think this vid proves without doubt that people should not feed vermin, the urban charlie is proving that it is fast becoming void with regard to it's fear of humans, and the outcome here could have been far far worse.

    Trefor

  • @MultiLongacre

"and the outcome here could have been far far worse.",how could the outcome have been far far worse when it's a dead piglet?

  • @welshfowler Because it have could have been a crying baby.

    Trefor

  • @MultiLongacre but it was not a crying baby,it was a dead animal giving off the scent of a dead animal

  • @welshfowler Yes I know, yet perhaps next time it could be a crying baby with a soiled nappy.

    Trefor

  • @welshfowler Foxes will, and do take young (whether its Lambs, Chicks, Calves, pigletts, pups, kittens and will even take human babies given the chance). They don't differentiate between any of those, it's all just food to them which is understandable. In urban areas they are a risk to children, Don't forget the twins that were mauled in their own cots by a fox.

As grand and interesting an animal as they are they're still predators, and will kill given the chance.

  • @lordblighty it does not help when there are idiots putting meat in baby buggies, this will encourage foxes to check out baby buggies for food!

  • @welshfowler Hmm foxes are oppertunistic and cunning predator. This means that they will take whatever is available too them at any given time. This would include a human baby given half the chance.

  • @welshfowler Also the fact that feeding them causes the foxes to realise that humans could be a reliable food source so they will end up taking pets and maybe something like this on the video may also occur (by that I mean a real human child). This is what the video is trying to convey.

  • @welshfowler I agree, feeding Foxes can cause real problems. But in saying that, the parents to the Babies that were attacked in their own cots didn't have to bait their cots with dead pigletts before their babies were so viciously attacked.

Foxes are predators and opportunists, if they see a chance at a free/easy meal they'll take it! Believe you me they will.

  • don't feed them

  • Comment removed

  • "Fox takes crying "baby" from pram",it's a dead piglet not a crying baby,

  • We don't think this is about reasons to shoot foxes. We think this is about reasons not to feed them

  • @fieldsportschannel

some people like to see foxes(not just to shoot them),you are just trying to give them a bad name so you get more support to shoot them,by the way i also shoot.

  • I have to say I am an out and out countryman and defender of field-sports, BUT i have to ask what this proves and is it really just inviting/training foxes to take babies from unattended prams?

I'm not convinced this does a huge amount to help fight the cause of pest control or field-sports

  • so the fox would not have touched the piglet if it was not wearing the baby-grow???????

why not stick a dead hedgehog in a baby-grow and if a badger tries to drag it off you would have a reason to shoot them also!!!!!!,

  • legal question. does the 50 meter exclusion zone for highways/homes extend to FAC air guns. bated trap or what.

  • @ArmedBrit

there is not exclusion zone for firearms on highways. the law says you cannot alarm, distress or dismay a road user if you are within 55 feet of the center of the highway. meaning you can use your rifle as long as the person on the road is not unhappy about it. shooting right of a piece of land extend to the center of a public highway

  • @markgameforeverythin

    section 161 & 161a highways act 1980 - summary offences

it is an offence for a person without lawful authority or excuse :-

    * to discharge any firearm or firework within 50 feet of the centre of a highway with a carriageway (s161(2) - level 3 fine (£1000)

and in consequence a user of any highway with a carriageway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

never shoot towards a highway (including green lanes), always shoot away/with your back to the highway

  • @ArmedBrit

i hope you are not considering shooting a fox with fac air,

  • @welshfowler

depends on what ft/lb it was pushing. I have known people do it with 12 ft/lb. dont worry its more a flight of academic fancy than intent.

  • It proves the fox is doing what comes natural to it, it is clearing up carrion.

  • How long had the piglet been dead? The fox could probably smell that it was dead. Not sure how much this proves.
