In a question of vocabulary, Swedish is the closes. It has, sadly enough, lost many of it's Norse words for German ones (such as spörja (ask, still remains even in English on Shetland and Orkney, where they say spier), and vindu (window, even English still has it, and it was originally borrowed from Norse, where it meant windeye (vindöga in Modern Swedish)), which have been changed into fråga (German fragen) and fönster (German fenster)).
