@taylorr1000 No, it is not possible. Where you lay the video card on (the pci slot) is a direct connection to the motherboard. There is no plausible way to connect an external gpu, unless you're experimenting and taking risks in doing so.

You can probably go to best buy or future shop and get one of the techy guys there to do it for you.. you can buy your new video card and they will install it. Come back next day and there you go. I havnt tried this but it probably is the best way

there's nothing wrong with my 4250, it being an onboard card, with 256mb ded, 1.4shared hyper mem @ like ~533mhz..its mainly dependant on it's processer.. In my case, I have an Athon P340 II Duel core @ ~2.2GHz. An upgrade to something with at least 3.0GHz will make my GPU be able to increase DED mem from 256 to 512. Still with 4GB DDR3 Ram.

This is great. I had an HP with the famous over-heating graphics card problem. W hen I it apart I noticed the GPU is actually part of the mother board. So.... no easy replacement like this one. HP wanted to charge me $400 to fix it.

I ended up buying a new mother board, which lasted me about 3 months until it did the same thing as the original. Now I have a Sony Vaio. LOVE IT!

Moral of this story... don't waste your money on an HP.

@exactinmidget92 You could probly do it.Paitence & organzation is the key.When removing screws,put each set on paper.Put the name of the area they came from & cirlce over it.Makes it easier when puting all the screws back on.Some laptops don't use alot of screws,but most do.

Agree with PhantomAct, the left one is the processor, which is is removable, and ugradable. The right one is the North Chipset, it has processor-like characteristics, but still relys on the actual processor.

@PauseProject18 Maybe they were confused for a desktop graphic card. There are different graphic cards for laptops. Currently the best graphics card for a laptop is the GeForce GTX 480M. Notice the M. If there is an M, then its for a laptop, if theres no M, dont buy it, its for a desktop instead.
