@faralli28 Warhammer 40K it's a Table Top Strategy Battle Game, basically the Federation troopers are being compared to the imperial guard which number in the billions and are sent in wave after wave no matter the cost in man power while the tyranids(Which also bear numerous similiarities) Are being compared to the Arachnids e.g warriors have no mind of their own their controlled by a hive mind and each unit is geared specifically for a special task. SM and Nids actually came frm the orignl book
I watched this the night before I shipped out to Basic. I have never seen such a piece of crap movie in my life. My roommate at the hotel and I had a field day ripping this movie apart. Especially the scene at the end where T'Pol and that one guy kiss as the planet buster destroys the super brain bug planet.
Greatest departure from the book is that in the movie the superior officers have no problem sending large amounts of men to die while in the book the officers would sacrifice themselves to save their soldiers.

@Miller3492 I served in the armed forces and I fought for not any one religion either. I did it because I felt I owned a thanks to this country. Even though I'm no longer in the armed forces, I still continue with my belief of trying to be a responsible citizen.

In the end religion is coöpted by the Federation to suit their own means and true believers are put to death. I think the moral is that religion on itself isn't bad but is misused by people for their own agenda.

The first movie reminded me of vietnam, the second reminded me of the Alamo, and this one reminded me of WWI (trench warfare). I though this story took place in the future.
It sucked mostly because the actors were amateurs.It would have been better if they got the original characters from the first movie and put them in again.
The second and third movies should never have been made. If they wanted to work on that budget, they should have made a mini-series for TV instead, that way people would be more accepting of the shortcomings. HBO would have made a sick Starship Troopers series!
@ThinkFeelExist, Starship Troopers is the conclusion of the classic 1984. Unfortunally, it suffered from bad directors and poor casting. I still like it as anti PC version of Imperial victory (If the Empire had been the winner in Star Wars, something like it).
@ThinkFeelExist with the huge exception of Holocaust and seriously misguided racist ideals. If you read the book, the argument for that system is actually very compelling, especially the parts dealing with use of public lashings and executions.

@Miller3492 color is not the bugs problem..they're tooo bright although theres so much darkness..no shadows on the whole body, and the moves of the bugs are way better in the video game
@Miller3492 First one had $105 million budget 2nd one had $7million budget and not sure about the third one but somewhere between $80-90million I think.
@Miller3492 1st had the highest budget, 2nd had the lowest. But even though they brought back Rico and had that cool battle at the beginning, I liked the 3rd one the least. Maybe it was all the Christianity and horrible singing. The first one was a classic of my childhood, and I liked the 2nd one's "professional soldiers instead of scared teenagers picked off one-by-one in a claustrophobic and/or isolated setting" horror movie feel. Plus the subtle WW2, Korea, Vietnam references.
@buffepuff Third film had only a 20 million budget compared to the first films 100 million budget. For what they had to work with in the 3rd film, I think they did ok. At least it had the over the top satire and Rico returned, even though the bugs looked really crappy this time, even compared to part 2. I did appreciate the effort made to at least have some sort of powered armor, even if it didn't look all that great.

The first movie reminded me of vietnam, the second reminded me of the Alamo, and this one reminded me of WWI (trench warfare). I though this story took place in the future.

The second and third movies should never have been made. If they wanted to work on that budget, they should have made a mini-series for TV instead, that way people would be more accepting of the shortcomings. HBO would have made a sick Starship Troopers series!

@ThinkFeelExist, Starship Troopers is the conclusion of the classic 1984. Unfortunally, it suffered from bad directors and poor casting. I still like it as anti PC version of Imperial victory (If the Empire had been the winner in Star Wars, something like it).

@Miller3492 1st had the highest budget, 2nd had the lowest. But even though they brought back Rico and had that cool battle at the beginning, I liked the 3rd one the least. Maybe it was all the Christianity and horrible singing. The first one was a classic of my childhood, and I liked the 2nd one's "professional soldiers instead of scared teenagers picked off one-by-one in a claustrophobic and/or isolated setting" horror movie feel. Plus the subtle WW2, Korea, Vietnam references.

@buffepuff Third film had only a 20 million budget compared to the first films 100 million budget. For what they had to work with in the 3rd film, I think they did ok. At least it had the over the top satire and Rico returned, even though the bugs looked really crappy this time, even compared to part 2. I did appreciate the effort made to at least have some sort of powered armor, even if it didn't look all that great.
