This would be considered XML data hacking. Flash does not send code via the internet for it has been published and can no longer be tampered with. The XML however is the data being sent when the game notices you submit your scores to a leaderboard. Therefore, you cannot hack a flash game. Unless by some chance some programmer produces a flash decompiler for public use, it is not possible to hack games of this type.

So while Flash Games cannot use Mario sprites, for example, just like commercial games, they cannot be hacked, just like commercial games. Its easy to stop this. Change all the variables names to a random string, so the hacker doesn't know which ones the score. You could even send a string which then gets turned into a number. So even if the hacker figures out which ones the score, the score would be letters not numbers.
