oh my God....what a STRANGE concept! he wants delegates because he is campaigning to be the Republican nominee. The Republicans are trying to make it sound like he is an evil man for doing this. They are trying to make it sound like it is WRONG to vote your conscience. They are blaming the Ron Paul supporters who were ELECTED to be delegates for voting for a fiscally conservative candidate who stands for Republican principles. It is just downright bizarre!

This may have been Ron Paul's finest interview. With sweeps month starting -- though the prior writer's strike will effect this -- I expect plenty of cable and other news shows requesting interviews...his new book doesn't hurt either.

Please don't write in Ron Paul, because, as much as I love him, we need to vote for one of the third party nominees to help get them more national attention, and move us away from the two party system. We can't change America by writing in a single person that won't even be counted or reported. Instead, voting for alternative parties and then working to try to change the current ones from within, between elections, is the best way for us to make progress.

Unfortunately, this is a misunderstanding of the write-in process. In most states, write-in votes are only valid if they correspond to someone who has actually officially registered with the state as a write-in candidate. Otherwise, they are thrown out. He wouldn't be tallied, and his percentage wouldn't be reported to the news media. You would just as well have voted for Mr. Potato Head. However, similarly positioned 3rd party candidates WILL be registered on the ballots and tallied.

It's for special situations where they can't go back and change the ballots, and things like that.  At least, that's my understanding.

yes you most definitely can. This has been my plan. I have made a firm decision that I will not vote for anyone else. I don't care if people say he can't win.  He stands for everything that I believe in. If everyone just keeps giving in and continues to vote for "the lesser of two evils" then all we will ever have is more evil.

Yes, we won't settle for the Republicans or Democrats, but not because we are illogical idealists who will never compromise at all, but because the major parties are so far away from our viewpoints that it isn't a compromise. In contrast, it is completely logical to "settle" for a third party candidate, because he or she will be very close to our viewpoints, but will actually be counted and reported on.
