If the altitude is 100 ft and its picking up on the screen as about a foot long, 2 feet wide that translates to roughly 10 feet long, 15 feet wide from that distance. The reason they have such bright lights on them is because 3.5km underwater, there's no other light sources except faint bioluminescent light. Sunlight doesn't penetrate that deep. If the altitude is 100 ft and its picking up on the screen as about a foot long, 2 feet wide that translates to roughly 10 feet long, 15 feet wide from that distance. Like if you look at a tree from 100 feet away and the tree is 7 feet tall, it will look half that size..

Hey man, I know it's pretty far out man, but the bright light is on another R.O.V. coming towards the R.O.V. filming the footage you are looking at. The reason they have such bright lights on them is because 3.5km underwater, there's no other light sources except faint bioluminescent light. Sunlight doesn't penetrate that deep. The orange crustacean is probably just an isopod (google isopocalypse 2010 for other false alarms). Have another toke, it's just oil seepage and a few deep sea critters.

Just curious, were you aware that another oil well exploded and burned in the gulf last week? I think it'd be more productive to vehmently attack the slack culture of costcutting in the corporate sector that leads to these accidents in the first place then invest time in making blob videos go viral.

There's lots of things happening in the deep sea all over the world and there has been for some time. I often wonder why we have explored outer space more than the oceans depth. This has to be one of the strangest things going on though,that's for sure. I'm curious to know why they would leave the camera feeds on this area open for the public to see? @MrGlasgowtruther - To be honest I am pretty frazzled, to much coffee and not enough sleep, eye strain head ache etc. apologize if I seem to be short, theres no call for me to be like that and I am man enough to call myself out if need be... @BeePeeOilDisaster thanx m8, the last thing i want is to get into a pissing match on youtube with someone i respect for the time and effort you are putting in. im the 1st man to get my hooks into something suspicious, but at the same time, i have to be honest with myself and if i dont see something, i think its better i tell you that , than just lie and say that i agree.
i know over time you will need to correct me when i get onto the wrong path on a story..
