In the 70s you weren't black unless someone in your family playing this tune...Fond memories of being a little kid in the backyard with family bbq-ing. Tube tops adorned beautiful brown and tan women and a sea of afro wearing men, well some them anyway.
Incredible ...does'nt get any better.., Makes me wanna chill with a cool beverage and let the wind blow through my windows of my mind... i know a little corny .. but who cares........
ALL-TIME CLASSIC!!! The '74 version was WAY too short. Great post GStrongRaw and you are right, doc2skate, 1976/Love And Understanding! If it weren't for YouTube I would have to pull out a CASSETTE to hear this when I caught on WCLK in Atl back in 1989!
If you went to concerts in th 70's, you know these are the performers you had to see during the summer: Isleys, Rufus & Chaka, Kool & The Gang, Tower of Power, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie, Aretha, Sly & Family Stone, Staples, Booker T & MG's, WAR, Issac Hayes, Stylistics, Dramatics, Spinners, EWF, Main Ingredient, Chi-Lites, and many more. The best part was you could see three acts at $15 to $20. That was a lot of money back then, but I didn't care. It was money well spent.
This one was in London, England. I saw them perform this song in L.A. back in 1977. Each perfomance is different. Arrangement was the same, but without vocals. As you know, the original is about four minutes and instrumental.
All I can say is that sythesizer is cookin'!!! I love that instrument to death!!! I know that this song needs to be saved for all generations to know what REAL music was istead of this stuff they are playing today!!! These guys obviously loved doing this song and I a kick out of it. Either this one or the studio version is cool by me!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Amerie Sampled the begining of her "More Than Love" off the first 30 Seconds!!! K&TG's Summer Madness is one of My Favorite Songs Ever Made. Thank You for the Uplaod :)
