  • Mighty Fine, mighty fine...yeeeaaaaaa!

  • If the lens of perception were clear, all things would appear as they are, equal.

  • Passing through the wormhole to the other side!

    Oooops! Here we go again..............zooooooooooooom.

  • In the 70s you weren't black unless someone in your family playing this tune...Fond memories of being a little kid in the backyard with family bbq-ing. Tube tops adorned beautiful brown and tan women and a sea of afro wearing men, well some them anyway.

  • Incredible ...does'nt get any better.., Makes me wanna chill with a cool beverage and let the wind blow through my windows of my mind... i know a little corny .. but who cares........

  • This version like the studio version was recorded in Philadelphia. My dad went to see them perform this version that you're listening to.

  • A RIDE TO THE MOON

Departure 2:48 and 5:25 means you've arrived haha

I like the short regular version but MORE IS BETTER so this is it for me!

My absolute favorite Kool & The Gang jam and all time favorite instrumental!

    Nothing compares!

  • ALL-TIME CLASSIC!!! The '74 version was WAY too short. Great post GStrongRaw and you are right, doc2skate, 1976/Love And Understanding! If it weren't for YouTube I would have to pull out a CASSETTE to hear this when I caught on WCLK in Atl back in 1989!

  • there will never be another like it!!!!!!

  • I like what George Brown was doing on the drums.

  • sooo good. ^_^

  • Thank you for that. :)

  • If you went to concerts in th 70's, you know these are the performers you had to see during the summer: Isleys, Rufus & Chaka, Kool & The Gang, Tower of Power, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie, Aretha, Sly & Family Stone, Staples, Booker T & MG's, WAR, Issac Hayes, Stylistics, Dramatics, Spinners, EWF, Main Ingredient, Chi-Lites, and many more. The best part was you could see three acts at $15 to $20. That was a lot of money back then, but I didn't care. It was money well spent.

  • @doc2skate Those were the days...

  • goddamn what i wouldn't give to be at this performance...

  • @kurdt1000

This one was in London, England. I saw them perform this song in L.A. back in 1977. Each perfomance is different. Arrangement was the same, but without vocals. As you know, the original is about four minutes and instrumental.

  • FUCKING LOVE THE INTRO. Rest of the song is great too, but i mean.. da intro..

  • This is from one of my favorite live albums "Love And Understanding" (1976). This gem brought in the summer.

  • All I can say is that sythesizer is cookin'!!! I love that instrument to death!!! I know that this song needs to be saved for all generations to know what REAL music was istead of this stuff they are playing today!!! These guys obviously loved doing this song and I a kick out of it. Either this one or the studio version is cool by me!!! LOVE IT!!!!
