krav maga sucks shit, all of these moves are coordinated and they know whats going to happen. you dont know what the enemy is going to do in real life. they could trick u or distract u bfore stabbing you and they move much faster than this. this video here is only having the enemy use the knife to stab straight or using overhead stab which does not happen real life.
I rather say that your full of shit tbh... I've bin training krav maga for the last 6 years and well i must say that sure... this is coordinated... but hey... its a movie? how often do you think they run around with a camera and "oh hey, lest go out someone will come and try stab us then we put it out on youtube!" i mean cmon... think a little... Krav maga is one of the best martial arts. Its damage output is higher than most other martial arts like karate or kung fu.
@kossakompaniet all im sayin is in real life this doesnt apply because you dont know where the enemy is going to strike. this damage output is weak. kyokushin karate is the strongest martial art. give me proof that it has better damage output. kungfu is also useless. it is for show like tae kwon do. you see the top fighters in ufc, mostly karate like machida and gsp.
@sub7viet The strongest martial art depends on the person, their mental state, and their will and capabilities. You could teach kyokushin karate to someone, but if their mental state isn't right or they are not as devoted, the art doesn't matter. It isn't enough to know a martial art, you have to apply it. Why do you think Jason Todd died so fast? Seriously.
@sub7viet the top fighters in UFC also have to have their Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing training. Machida and GSP both are great on the ground. Machida has been doing Jiu Jitsu since he was a little boy. Karate is supplemental. Karate guys throw a few different kicks and have a bit different footwork. But no one relies on it mainly as a striking art without the kickboxing.
@sub7viet actually there are two "types" of kungfu and the one almost everyone learns is the one thats for shows, just because it looks cool. but there is also another type of kungfu that looks like shit but has a way better damage output then the showoff kungfu you are talking about
@sub7viet Kyokushin Karate is the strongest martial art?! Hahaha, wow, you have literally studied fuck all martial arts if your opinion is that bullshit. Go back to reading sports magazines, dreaming about winning a fight, you monstrous retard.
And St.Pierre's skill is wrestling, his striking is majority taught in his camp, which does NOT teach Kyokushin. Machida is one of the only Karate fighters in UFC, and look at him now. Most fighters use Mau Thai or BJJ. Karate barely gets a look in
@RooCHToTB obviously you don't know shit about statistics or anything about martial arts you fuck. gsp has wrestling but his background is karate when he stand up fights. study his moves dumbshit. also machida lost his first match ever. every great champion has to fall once. where in the fuck did i say gsp does kyokushin? i said karate. i said kyokushin is the strongest martial art. they learn to take hits each class. why do you see so many matches with karate winning all the time? fucktard
@sub7viet Statistics, hahahaha. Do you notice that you are alone, arguing against the entire youtube community? It's because we all know Kyokushin is utter balls. Hell, Shotokan has more going for it that Kyokushin, ONLY a student of the latter would defend it. Statistics, seriously you are one indoctrinated little retard.
And GSP has a background in Karate, yes. Just like Anderson Silva has a background in Tae Kwon do. Does he use it? Fuck no, as it's an irrelevant combat art.
@RooCHToTB retard. nobody is arguing because nobody cares about what we argue about. Also you don't know shit about background of Shotokan or Kyokushin moron. Kyokushin is from Shotokan made a stronger karate. also did i say kyokushin can stop a bullet? lol no? so maybe fucking learn to read my sentence again. silva dont use tkd because why? its a fuckin sport for show. if you knew shit all about mma, you'd be first to know karate is most useful and strong dumbshit.
@RooCHToTB its muay thai faggot, and bjj is ground game. we talkin about krav maga vs karate here. shit, do you see any krav maga experts fighting? no, its mostly for disarming ppl with knives but against guns is useless cause you're gonna get the shit shot out of you. now stfu and don't talk unless you study this shit kid.
@sub7viet You can easily disarm an someone with a pistol if they are close enough, why would the Israeli Special forces invent it if they couldn't disarm enemies with guns?
@sub7viet you are full of shit, what you don't realize is that when you get trained in martial arts you learn how to read your opponents movements in a split second, a friend of mine was the victim of a mugging TWICE, both times he incapacitated the prospective mugger with his martial arts training. not just knocked down, but KNOCKED OUT with multiple fractures. You try taking on a krav maga expert with a knife and just see how well you fare :-P
@Ozgarthefighter no shit dumbass you think i dont know since i was in karate lol. im sayin krav maga useless like any other martial art if the person standing few feet away and cap your ass. nothin you can do
If things are this much simple why train crav maga. This video is enough isnt it ?But the things are not as easy shown in this video, on real world then u have to think about some practical methods of training not the fancy movements.I am not criticising this art.Might be the problem of the person who present this.its all depend on you.doesnt matter which style you are training the only thing matters rather than practice is who u are and what is your inborn talent.
Well the video said it all.. They don't train for competitions.. how can it be effective it's it's not able to be proven.. competition is what provides evidence to the effectiveness of the art.. this is traditional Asian Martial Arts being hijacked. By the way, the arm twist on the knife attck was wrong.. it should be two hands against 1.. and then twist.. and the deflect rear neck attack reversal against the wall is the simple YinTan formula.. nothing to do with SHORT! Jokers!
@MrDmsir - They are effective on people who don't know how to fight.. civilians, ofcourse it's effective on them. Is it effective on people who do know how to fight??? what happens on the day when someone who is well trained in similar arts faces them? You can only measure effectiveness if it's faced with something equal and supercedes it!
@foonfoon1 I'm gonna have to disagree again. Tzahal doesn't with any regularity practice it's sheer combat effectiveness on untrained civilians. Only sometimes when a want-t- be martyr is running at them with a bomb strapped to their chest. These techniques, when practiced over and over again become second nature, and only by continuous repetition can you ever hope to have an arsenal of techniques capable of giving you an advantage over a trained and ready opponent.
@foonfoon1 Competition trains you the wrong way. Your body/muscle memory is training for points. A couple of punches, and you're waiting for the ref. Real fights do not work that way. They are messy, exhausting, and brutal. Krav Maga trains for situation that will help you not only survive with 2 or more assailants, but to control the adrenaline dump that causes many people to freeze up.
There is sparring in Krav Maga (also the associated Fight class), but mostly, we train to survive.
@SilasTomorrow - Not really, the best of the best don't train for point's and the forget the ref is actually there. They are training to master the art.. it's the same for Krav Maga.. i don't know why they call it that, it's just the same as asian martial arts, there was no point in changing the name.. all the techniques are from asian martial arts mixed.. some from tai chi, some from kung fu and tae kwan do... it's not a new creation, it's just copied and mixed.
@airbrush4you Being a sport doesn't exempt an Oriental fighting style from being a martial art. In such a case as Tae Kwon Do, it is both a martial art and sport.
@SilasTomorrow Adrinaline is supposed to come out, you have to control it, but you don't need only Krav Maga to teach you that, it comes also in forms of meditation and correct breathing... but without adrinaline you would lose the will to actually fight or defend yourself. The freeze up is caused by fear, not adrinaline.. the fear of death or getting hurt... this is something in people who have no courage or are not brave.. you have to overcome your demons yourself.. lets face it, it's copied!
Imagine how shitty a criminal would feel if the guy he was about to shoot in the face grabbed his gun, then beat him to death with it rather than actually using bullets.
Israel is the most fucked-with piece of land in history, its funny how the most war-torn countries come up with the best martial arts.
I don't like how they portray knife fights. the moves are too mechanic,he looks like a robot with a knife.those who use knives usually try to stung you,not necessarily to kill you, doing repetitive short fast strikes from chest level, holding the blade pointing down.other try to stab you in the thigh,so you can no longer put up a resistance.
I've been in knife fights and the best method is called fast reflexes and quick feet
Krav maga improves your basic instict that's it. When some one points a gun at you move a little to the side and punch them in the throat with there gun, that is Krav, not wrestle them to the ground. In self defence a attacker should be dissabled as quickly as possable.
I have trained Krav Maga in Stockholm, Sweden (krav-maga.nu), I was very Disapointed! I felt like it only works against people with absolutely no fighting skills and are pretty obese..They did dispize ground-fighting moves and ..well , I think that the Drag "lafayette" in True Blood Would kick most krav maga practioners ass world wide..and certainly all the instructors there.
@lastbil1972 Then that wasn't Krav. Krav maga has been proven in real combat and I have taken some and have used it againts martial artist and well it is very effective.
@Godisthebest9 it was what they called it "modern Krav maga". Not the traditional style. It only has about 100 moves in total..compared with 1200-1500 techniques in the "older" style.
This stuff is great. If I'm ever attacked by an over-acting extra from an 80's Jean-Claud Van Dam Movie, I'll be sure to use some of my krav maga techniques.
well, when you are surrounded on all sides by people who want to kill you, then you simply need the best method of self-defense. this is very impressive stuff.
Everyone seems hell bent on criticizing KM, but it seems to me the whole movement is actually pretty humble in their presentation of the system as a simple, reletively easy and quick method to learn self defense. When I started Kung Fu the master said it was the best and most complete fighting system, then he said it'll take at least 10 years of dedication before you'll be able to use it effectively and a life time to master. Just trying not to get attacked in the meantime.. :)
@Ork4life yeah, in a real situations its different but, if krav maga wasnt good as it looks, the israel army wouldnt create and teach it to their privates
@Ork4life After a few weeks of training sessions the sparringpartners are instructed to attempt a stab at their opponent properly so that the training would be as close to a real life situation as possible. (We used steel propknifes) This was allso the case with punching. We were supposed to try and hit our opponent so if we missed the block we'd get punched in the face.
The trainers allso rented a nightclub occasionally so we could practice in that kind of environment. (Dark and loud)
Did you know ? Krav Maga is actually much much much similar to street gang defense?
The movements are meant to be short, very simple direct and clean. The sloppier you are the more mistakes you make. That is why short , simple , direct and precise techniques does the job well. Takedowns are not recommended as many had mentioned - the assailant could be hiding a knife or a gun. Even if you throw him down he can stab or shoot you still./
Well have you even tried fighting someone or a group of men on the ground
with a gun or guns or a knife/knives?
I know , my close friend did and he died on the ground bleeding to death
on - 19 May 2010 on the roadside. He was a BJJ Black Belt instructor and was a Kyokushin Black Belt 4th Dan trainer. But he according to police and eye witness reports - fought 2 men and they went to ground and was stabbed and shot 10 times. Sadly he was fighting 5 armed men.
Training in martial arts doesn't make you a super human. There isn't any martial arts that can prepare you to be able to fight 5 armed men with the intent to kill you while you're unarmed.
So I don't really even know why you brought up that story.
The point is... In a real fight I can apply my techniques that I have learned. And there's tons of people who can vouch.
And the difference is... If I don't want to goto the ground. Unexperienced guys can't GET me to the ground and I can escape
Now if there is a guy who is pointing a gun at me... Sure I'm not going to engage him with my bare hands and try to take him down.
But if they do not have their weapon in hand by the time I have grappled them.
They won't be able to get it out once I take them down.
Because on the ground... I am trained to control my opponent and pin them. It's easier to control someone on the ground... Rather then them standing up and moving unpredictably.
krav maga is really lethal its not a sport its a real life self defence system and you must not take longer than 3 seconds to stop the attacker and to have him on the ground in ALOT ALOT of pain (as much as you can give) its okay if he gets hurt while you self defending yourself its your life or his in the end of the day its even better if you brake alot of bones in his body the bastard shouldnt have tried his luck in the first place
@RichyB1233 If someone has the audacity to attack me with a weapon, they would only be lucky to have their face kicked in... I'd curb stomp the dude, and also stomp a mud hole in dude...
@RichyB1233 if they attack you i believe you should have every right to break his face or possibly kill him it was his choice to attack you or not it is all on him.
@JobPatterson Well I totally feel the same way...But unfortunately that's the law. Reasonable force. It's not reasonable force if once you've downed him, you then decide to start stomping his face. I'm talking about unarmed attackers by the way....people generally attempting to steal things from you etc.
@RichyB1233 yes it is the law and if he is unarmed and just a thief then it is unreasonable but what most law enforcers don't realize that most people react from shock as kicking them while there down to "ensure" saftey.
@RichyB1233 It's reasonable to make sure he doesn't get back up on his feet so he can attack again. I would not stomp someone's face once they're on the ground but I WOULD break a limb or pop a shoulder out. Submission with chokes or arm/leg locks are only safe if you're really good at it because you don't know where he might have hidden a weapon. Running after sending someone to the ground can also be risky, so the best option to reduce risk you yourself is to disable them.
And this guy is a master (retired Israeli Defence Force) And trust me, even though he looks a bit like a slob. , he could probably kill most martial artists.
forget about this guy who is in the video! he's sh!t at krav maga... if u want to defend urself train IKMF, learn from itay gil, eyal yanilov, roy elghanayan, moni aizik!! they do the real sh!t
forget about this guy who is in the video! he's sh!t at krav maga... if u want to defend urself train IKMF, learn from itay gil, eyal yanilov, roy elghanayan, moni aizik!! they do the real sh!t
what the heck is this? I train krav maga and have done for some time and this is the worst shiat I've ever seen. he has a guard like super mario and he doesnt even hit where he is supposed to. go watch Haim Gidon or somethin :S he hits hammerfist from standing like triceps presses wtf :S and we DO HIT in the training! how else would you be able to hit when you are supposed to :S we use protection.
@collegeboy112 dude they wont actuilly hit a guy in a training you moron, you really think they will start braking bones there?? they only do a "Fake" hit to teach you how to do it but they dont really hit in the training ofc
Those of you saying Krav Maga is more effective for self defense , are right and wrong. You see any martial art taught correctly can work for self defense .
It's getting rare that Karate school's teach anything more than show. Krava maga ones tend to be more real..
But if instructed correctly, ether one can work fine.
Please stop by our page as well and comment / review our videos.
i just found this one... who the hell would say that what i was doin for all those years is called krav maga....hehe i love this technique...i made it up when i was a kid then perfect it in the army n now i find out in age of 27 that it is a martial art....hmmm made me think...are there any competitions??
I've had a couple of sparring sessions with a krav maga guy and this cheesey video doesn't do it justice. I also teach self defence and the principles of krav maga have always been part of my ideology ... even though I didn't know it .... It's a good system. Admittedly it's a better system for the physically but the principles are still sound
im a krav maga fighter.. although i can comment on a few things, im concerned about the ice pick stab. the defender uses his palm to block the ice pick stab before he takes control of the arm. if this was a real situation.. or at least a faster one, there is no way in hell will u be able to stop it like that. extend your hand to a 45 degrees maybe a bit more and block the ice pick with the forearm bone not ur palm.
NO not all us forces us Krav Mega. As A matter of fact they all use variations of Paul Vunaks RAT system. UFC is not the ultimate proving ground. But Krav Mega is like one step sparring in motions. NO real resistance or aliveness.
@Norrin82 his left fist isnt the problem the gun is, getting on the inside of him is better and lets you smash the shit out of em + did you see the smash to the face he got as he turned around
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying KM strikes are no good? They're not supposed to be like the strikes in, say, boxing. You don't wear gloves when you're walking down the street so you don't want to throw full-power punches that are more likely to break your hand than to knock the guy out. You just want to strike fast and often to stun the other guy for long enough to get you out of trouble.
its best to learn something simple and easy. alot of people will take kwon do thinking it looks all flashy and shit. i have a few friends who think this sucks because there is nut shots. i dont care what the fuck i do if it is to save my damn life.
This is not full contact. I have done a Krav training day and it was very interesting. After a few weeks you would get bored. Stick to a good Karate Club, far more to learn. All these moves are Karate based. Incidently 1 or 2 day courses a waste of time, unless you practise consistently.
THANK you! finally someone who understands how effective it is. it is the deadliest combat system in the world right now. used by our very own navy seals.
not the deadliest, that award goes to White Crane, however it is By far the most effective for self defense purposes, and yes, all american special forces use Krav Maga.
@lighttekku u cant say that it depends on how good the karate fighter is an how gut the krav maga guy is. if somebody is a krav-beginner and he wants to defend himself against an karate pro, surely the kravguy would get his ass kicked
what's the name of that song?

Godisthebest9 1 year ago
I have trained Krav Maga in Stockholm, Sweden (krav-maga.nu), I was very Disapointed! I felt like it only works against people with absolutely no fighting skills and are pretty obese..They did dispize ground-fighting moves and ..well , I think that the Drag "lafayette" in True Blood Would kick most krav maga practioners ass world wide..and certainly all the instructors there.
lastbil1972 1 year ago
@lastbil1972 Then that wasn't Krav. Krav maga has been proven in real combat and I have taken some and have used it againts martial artist and well it is very effective.
Godisthebest9 1 year ago
@Godisthebest9 it was what they called it "modern Krav maga". Not the traditional style. It only has about 100 moves in total..compared with 1200-1500 techniques in the "older" style.
lastbil1972 1 year ago
@lastbil1972 you just had a shitty trainer, nothing beats krav, i've used it 3 times in real life!

This stuff is great. If I'm ever attacked by an over-acting extra from an 80's Jean-Claud Van Dam Movie, I'll be sure to use some of my krav maga techniques.
nunpunter 1 year ago
well, when you are surrounded on all sides by people who want to kill you, then you simply need the best method of self-defense. this is very impressive stuff.
gaydanzig 1 year ago
Everyone seems hell bent on criticizing KM, but it seems to me the whole movement is actually pretty humble in their presentation of the system as a simple, reletively easy and quick method to learn self defense. When I started Kung Fu the master said it was the best and most complete fighting system, then he said it'll take at least 10 years of dedication before you'll be able to use it effectively and a life time to master. Just trying not to get attacked in the meantime.. :)

@ADHR26 agreed, a knife is an addition to your forearm most hold them like freddie or jason.
ShadowCookie 1 year ago

Even if you throw him down he can stab or shoot you still./
MDIS 1 year ago
@MDIS
Takedowns aren't recommended?
So standing up and fighting them is recommended if they have a gun?
Yeah that made tons of sense.
He can shoot you if you're taking him down(In which you'll have more control over him vs standing up_
But if hes standing up he can't shoot you or stab you?
lol.
BlackShinobiShozoku 1 year ago
@BlackShinobiShozoku
MDIS 1 year ago
@MDIS
BlackShinobiShozoku 1 year ago
@MDIS

BlackOutAngel1313 1 year ago
@RichyB1233 if they attack you i believe you should have every right to break his face or possibly kill him it was his choice to attack you or not it is all on him.
JobPatterson 1 year ago
@JobPatterson Well I totally feel the same way...But unfortunately that's the law. Reasonable force. It's not reasonable force if once you've downed him, you then decide to start stomping his face. I'm talking about unarmed attackers by the way....people generally attempting to steal things from you etc.
RichyB1233 1 year ago
@RichyB1233 yes it is the law and if he is unarmed and just a thief then it is unreasonable but what most law enforcers don't realize that most people react from shock as kicking them while there down to "ensure" saftey.
JobPatterson 1 year ago
@RichyB1233 It's reasonable to make sure he doesn't get back up on his feet so he can attack again. I would not stomp someone's face once they're on the ground but I WOULD break a limb or pop a shoulder out. Submission with chokes or arm/leg locks are only safe if you're really good at it because you don't know where he might have hidden a weapon. Running after sending someone to the ground can also be risky, so the best option to reduce risk you yourself is to disable them.
feryar 1 year ago
@feryar Yes, stomp on the ankle, means they can't run after you and it is very unlikely for legal action to be taken.

Interesting video. Keep it up!

I've had a couple of sparring sessions with a krav maga guy and this cheesey video doesn't do it justice. Admittedly it's a better system for the physically but the principles are still sound

im a krav maga fighter.. although i can comment on a few things, im concerned about the ice pick stab. the defender uses his palm to block the ice pick stab before he takes control of the arm. if this was a real situation.. or at least a faster one, there is no way in hell will u be able to stop it like that. extend your hand to a 45 degrees maybe a bit more and block the ice pick with the forearm bone not ur palm.

at 3:13 wouldn't it be better to go from the outsite? You don't have to worry so much about his left hand then.
Norrin82 1 year ago
@Norrin82 his left fist isnt the problem the gun is, getting on the inside of him is better and lets you smash the shit out of em + did you see the smash to the face he got as he turned around
Czeczka69 1 year ago
Right but you can smash the shit out of him from the outside too, plus you can break his gun holding arm much easier from the outside
Norrin82 1 year ago
if this is so good why isnt it used in the UFC?
flodeezul 1 year ago
Because in the UFC there are no knives or guns and you're not allowed to kick groins, gouge eyes, etc.
BigUriel 1 year ago
I know that. What I am talking about are the strikes, no groin or eye shots. I think if a person knew what they were doing they would clean house.
flodeezul 1 year ago
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying KM strikes are no good? They're not supposed to be like the strikes in, say, boxing. You don't wear gloves when you're walking down the street so you don't want to throw full-power punches that are more likely to break your hand than to knock the guy out. You just want to strike fast and often to stun the other guy for long enough to get you out of trouble.
BigUriel 1 year ago
@BigUriel i saying this fighting style seems to be more effective when its close action. but i do see your point
flodeezul 1 year ago
its best to learn something simple and easy. alot of people will take kwon do thinking it looks all flashy and shit. i have a few friends who think this sucks because there is nut shots. i dont care what the fuck i do if it is to save my damn life.

This is not full contact. I have done a Krav training day and it was very interesting. After a few weeks you would get bored. Stick to a good Karate Club, far more to learn. All these moves are Karate based. Incidently 1 or 2 day courses a waste of time, unless you practise consistently.
