yeah, bridget jones was made with pride and prejudice in mind. for eg, bridget's family is 'lower' than darcy's family and he tells her this like in pride and prejudice when darcy proposes to lizy. daniel cleaver is supposed to be like a wickham figure- you know a bit of a scoundrel who doesn't care about anyone but himself. Darcy was used coz colin firth was darcy in pandp and here he is the darcy character, you know cold and aloof cheated by daniel.

gaaahh. i hate to ruin it for you, but the second movie is... HORRIBLE. they made bridget jones less attractive, stupider, less funny, mark darcy was supposed to be "madly in love with her" in the 2nd movie, but they completely failed to put in the script why this was true b/c he just seemed annoyed with her throughout the movie and never in love. i was sooo disappointed. they didn't follow the book, b/c if they had, the movie would've been good. THE FIRST MOVIE ROCKSSSS.
