Bruce's advice is a bit short. You have to have the basics mastered before you can just fight without thinking. Otherwise, you'll just be slapping all over the place and not have balance and timing. That kind of thing takes years of practice unless you're a quick learner and a natural which most people aren't. Bruce had years of practice under his belt before adopting his modern (for that time, and he constantly changed it) methods.

Actually, this part was based on factual sensory enhancement studies in blind people... basically, when one of the five human senses stops functioning, the other four become just a bit more acute and fine-tuned! Actually, this part was based on factual sensory enhancement studies in blind people... basically, when one of the five human senses stops functioning, the other four become just a bit more acute and fine-tuned! In martial arts, if you have studied for years, found your inner strengths and being, you have learned to use your senses to the extreme... and you can actually feel the difference in the air currents, the sense of hearing has become so sharply defined because of vision loss!
