  • if my physics teachers had used gymnastics for examples I may have done better in the course! LOL

  • I think he ment 2 and 1/2 flips.

  • Jack Carter is crazy. I have only seen a quad performed once and it was not completed. Not even the men have pulled of those.

  • Oh, and this: "2 1/2 would be suicide for a gymnast." Tell that to Shawn Johnson and Cheng Fei (and a couple of others...) haha. I guess difficulty really does increase drastically in just a few years. :)

  • @laughandlove2 He was mentioning two-and a half somersaults, not twists.

  • "Back in 1984, Mary Lou Retton ran head on into the vault horse, hitting the springboard with two feet and flying forward, much less powerful than the round off, back handspring approach gymnasts use today."

I don't think these commentators know much about gymnastics, considering the yurchenko entry *was* being done then and front-entries are still being done now - Vanessa Atler's and Alicia Sacramone's laid-out rudis were some of the most powerful vaults ever.

  • Wow 5 twists? That was a bit presumptuous.
