  • On the picture, the sun looks like a spotlight.

  • @Bozzy83 Your syntax is ugly.

  • Either my eyes are playing tricks on me or those trees are moving, I'm guessing it's just an illusion.

  • @Mafila Christ!!!! Are they moving??? They ARE moving....right?

  • no more time. falling. rising. empty. i feel pretty. and entangled in my basket of unfulfilled dreams. one day. very soon. will it end? could i die? yes, of course you fucking idiots. stop analyzing this shit like you know what the fuck you're talking about.

  • @blklightning330 lol :3

  • probably the best ghost

  • Some place in time they crossed paths, making the time they shared something to have, if only they saw what was to come, if only they knew what was to be done,

the sun falls over the horizon of the sea, never to rise for them, it was never meant to be, and so seperate paths lead their ways until the day arrives, when it is another lifetime and another new day.

  • it kinda reminds me of like a cute little lonely animal like a rabbit or fox that is calm in a forest but then geets a little uncalm and idk ??

  • Seriously articulate.

  • This... this song turns me insane.. I feel like a schizophrenic person. Like nothing is safe. I don't know.. I feel extremely crazy right now.. my eyes can't stop, my mind can't stop, nothing can stop.. Worst thing is... this song can't stop. It's too good. it's too much. I can't stop. It's creeping into my brain and just goes on. forever.

  • vile substance; vile lies; scares ever eyes; away from the sun; never be any you; never be any me; erase the stain; erase the place; die for freedom; everything gone numb; a part from the hurt; burning in rain; nothing can be the same; vile substance; never made me a friend ; love is a lie; never spoke a word of truth; always came for something; left with nothing; vile substance dissolved all we try; covered with bones; lost in books
  • @SCRSggIE it actually states that there are infinite histories, that every possible history that could have led to the current state of things has happened but our observation of these events limits the probabilities of this alternate histories and results in things happening the way we understand them. so us observing things changes the outcome of things and if we observe something happening this can change the past of that thing. this really just applies on a subatomic level though

  • So beautiful...

  • I am moved : l

  • quantum physics claim that events in the future can change our past i hope this is true

  • @SCRSggIE Damn dude that's deep but bat shit crazy. What theory is that.

  • @EdwardMarshall1982

    retrocausality theory

  • @SCRSggIE Thanks I'll check it out.

  • this song have the riff of "piggy"

  • Walking through a city of people their faces blurred.. no one notices you. like you dont even exist and you see someone who actually notices you! your heart pumps you start to chase them getting closer and closer and you finally reach them they turn around and boom every being disappears leaving you alone forever

  • sounds like 'ole pokey' the cowpoke on the trail ran out of beans so attempted to tune his guitar in a state of delussional famine

  • What

  • Wow!

  • ive been trying to find this songs name forever and now i found this video

    FINALLY!!!

  • Okay, so I loved the downward spiral, and my Teacher last year on the last day of school told me to check out ghosts when I was really really stressed. I really like ghosts, too! I love the slow songs by this band, like something I can never have and Hurt.

  • 2:37-5:53 The Call of Cthulhu

  • I like this song, but seriously, if you try to interpret it, you end up with something that makes you look you are stoned out of your fucking mind. Just look at the top two comments.

  • @45Imagamer I fucking love you.

  • @45Imagamer Yeah, especially since there are no lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I love Ghosts I-IV because of the lack of lyrics, so you can just bask in the beauty of the song, but trying to interpret it is like trying to interpret a sixth or seventh sense. It's like trying to describe color to a person who's been blind their entire life. One can only simply feel, and let the emotions pass through them. The Fragile, on the other hand, can be interpreted due to the obvious suicidal connotations.

  • @45Imagamer Oh, the irony.

  • @45Imagamer who cares this is breathtaking!

  • @45Imagamer Well said.

  • My favorite NIN song.

  • What music genre is this?

  • @PijusMusic industrial rock, or in progressive terms they can also be considered cross over prog.

  • like life, for there will be a beginning and their will be an end, we have ulimate control over the middle. Beatuy in everything, and everything in its beauty.

  • hey what's the copyright law on this? can i make a derivative of it and if i do, will i own copyright of my derivative (remix or whatever i do with it) or will they?

  • @jenniferbritney You have permission to remix the tracks from ghosts but you will need to cite the your version as a remix. This is what you would do with the track name for your remix: NIN Ghosts IV-34 (Remix name if you want it) followed by (your name) So if I wanted to remix this track it would look something like: NIN Ghosts IV-34 Smashing the system remix by Quantik.

  • it sounds like naruto sundtrack ;)

  • ●LIFE▬▬ஜ▬▬▬▬۩▬▬▬▬۞▬▬▬▬۩▬▬▬ஜ▬▬DEATH

  • i want this album so bad

  • Anyone know of a version that replays or remixes the first minute of the song?

  • wow. yes, i agree there's an autumn feel to it. the leaves falling, possibly reminds us about things at its natural state. Not just nature itself, but humans too. Stop the insecurity, stop worrying about your occupation, stop putting pounds of makeup to hide your face in an attempt to impress other people. just let shit evolve.

  • I like all of NIN's instrumentals, this being one of my favorites. But Trent Reznor's voice is really annoying to me so whne he sings I think it ruins it hahah

  • DID THE SONG SERIOUSLY CHANGED AFTER THE RELAXING PART?!

  • Comment removed

  • 32 people Forgot to turn up the volume

  • Only dark rooms, unused happiness, basement soul burnt out...

  • Why does this make me feel like it belongs in a naruto episode or movie?

  • @EricCartman110001 Nine inch nails, nine tails. thats why.

  • My favorite of the album.

  • 32 people didn't get the song

  • I've always liked the photograph that came with this song. Good way to really close this long album.

  • my fav ghost at the moment (regularly changes)........

  • First part remdins me a bit of the Lavender Town music in Pokèmon Red and Blue.. I'm loving it.

  • Autumn. Falling leaves. Sun still shining through the the trees in beams. Used to have pain attached to the memories that no longer exist outside myself. now only beauty stands to be. Potential yet reached. We will make it.

  • @maestroxzero you have made me contempt with all that is of life........

  • It's more then music at it's finest ... it's Art..

  • @phbfi music IS art... not only this one

  • The chord progression in this song is so similar to 'The Frail' - it's like he took that part of thge song and expanded on it. Which I love! This sequence is so creeping and ominous...

  • Knock knock

    Whos there?

    Ghost

    Ghost who?

I dont know, I cant see the ghost!

  • @pitbulllover74 Hahaha that was a very funny joke pitbulllover. Keep up the good work on writing funny comments.

  • @pitbulllover74 hahahahaha you crack me up.

  • Its Easyy Jus go to sleep and listen And uh...Not really

  • Wow, I used to fall asleep to the downward spiral and that played tricks with my mind too, I always woke up to A WARM PLACE....cool.

  • @MrAirPie I always wake up to a warm place, coz i shit myself and its kinda warm :(

  • whoops this is my bros account lol !

  • when i hear this i see kakariko village

  • almost nostalgic as boards of canada

  • Love this song. Very thought provoking. A fellow could get lost in his mind and never find his way out listening to this tune.

  • A brilliant move by Reznor. All of the feelings from previous albums are found here in ghosts, but there's a slightly subdued, reflective tone that casts a shadow further into your mind than any NIN album has ever been.

  • awful song

  • @SexyBuilder1888 I'm glad you listened ,but bear in my mind the simplistic melodies, and the off tune notes are all symbolic about the beauty of imperfection. True it's not technically impressive or catchy by any means. In a world where females are judged solely by their appearance and a man's worth is based on his possessions. This song reminds me that true beauty is in my flaws, and it's ok to be skinny and have nobby knees and to be a plumber and divorced. To me this instrumental says alot.

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 beautifully worded response, perhaps i'll give this song another chance

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 thanks for that. dead serious.

  • @opethinchains i'm glad my humanity had an effect on you. Dead serious I like to make people happy.

  • I Fell Asleep To This At My Friends House Well We All Did One Had A Dream About Her Being lost In A Desert,I Had One That I Was Dying,And The Other Was She Was Lost. And I Told Us All That We Should Go To Sleep To NIN Ghost Cuase It Makes You Dream Of Weird Things.

  • @RainbowwKitty Why are all the the words in this sentence capitalized? Is it a book title or something or are you just retarded? Im going with the latter. song is amazing though.

  • @RainbowwKitty : Wow, you (and all of your friends) are like the 50th person posting a story where they fell asleep to this album. I can't imagine how anybody could be put to sleep by 'Ghost'. Oh yeah...it's fucking boring.

  • @rmed30 Why are you watching the video then? "It's fucking boring." I'm sorry that you feel such anguish in connection to the album but do you really need to vent it by posting comments on the videos?

  • @QuantikMusic : Yes. I thought the comments section was an open exchange where people post their opinions, negative or otherwise. Apparently I was wrong and it's only for butthole licking fanboys to gather and jerk themselves off in an collective effort to convince themselves that subpar music is genius.

  • best song

  • @j2rik0

This is an instrumental piece. Unlike most modern popular music out there, this doesn't rely on lyrics to convey a message or meaning. Emotion and meaning are expressed with skillful and deliberate musicianship.

Feel the music. Personally, this song fills me with an the emotions that follow a part of life that is dominated by uneasiness and paranoia. It is hauntingly beautiful.

  • I don`t understand this music....

  • i think i heard this music on this scary chain forward message i got. i don't know why. the text was scarier than the music. it wasn't real anyways.

  • i love my precious girlfriend to death, but, she's a huge nin fan, that straight up doesnt like this album. (???????) she tends to only like music for its lyrics. typically relationship related, or "cute" lyrics. i'll never understand. instrumental work is the best. plus, when it comes down to it, the music was most likely invented first. then people most likely started humming along, then eventually singing. being SOMEWHAT of a musician, i think i'll stick to REAL music forever.

  • This album reminds me so much of Tomas Dvorak... Everything from his work as Floex to the Machinarium soundtrack. I guess what I'm saying is, I love both of them and this kind of music!

  • i think this entire album is meant for visualization and imagination use, and thats why i love it, it makes some people do what they never knew they could do, ghosts will be one of those that will haunt me in a compelling way, i love it

  • Love NIN !

  • 30 people don't like REAL music.

  • this collection is perhaps what one would call the unseen pinnacle of music brilliance i am humbled by its mere presence.

  • This one and Ghost 1-1 are my favorites.

  • It starts off unemotional and empty like a man driving through the countryside in the middle of nowhere the beat slowly intensifies as he nears a bridge then the distorted mechanical beat starts he goes to the trunk takes out a body and throws it into the river from the bridge......there goes a music video right there lOl

  • and why the fuck is there a song on this album (using that term very loosely) that sounds, note for note, like the GOOSEBUMPS tv show theme song?? Is that supposed to be funny? That really made me want to puke.

  • @rmed30 So I just listened to the goosebumps theme, sounds nothing like this, have no idea what you're talking about lol.

  • @U238andaquarter : I didnt say this song sounds like it. I said a song from the album. Ghost IV 29 to be exact. The goosebumps theme song is actually better than track 29. The only difference one has "NIN" slapped on the cover so people think its something special. The reality is this album is full of half baked cutting room crap that wasn't good enough for the slip or year zero; both mediocre releases in their own regard.

  • @rmed30 Fail.

  • I think of the movie: The Road

  • I liked trent a lot better when he was doing hard drugs and making real songs like eraser, ringfinger, physical etc. I also dont care what kind of shitty mini movies people are watching in their minds when these songs come on

  • @rmed30 well trent doesn't give a shit whether or not you like his new stuff. you can stay behind with all that fucked up hardness trent used to be. cause he's over it, if you're not i guess you can just stay behind. btw - this is as real as eraser or ringfinger. just because it does not have lyrics or appeals to rock charts does not make it less of a song. are you less of a person because you have blonde not brunette hair? wtf. music is music dude.

  • @loyalqueen I beg to differ madam. music NOT music. In terms of substance, complexity, originality, delivery. PHM and Downward Spiral clearly blow the doors off of this piece of shit. I dont even see how that is subjective. What is so groundbreaking about ghost? If it didn't say "NIN" on the cover do you think that anybody would be raving? I think its cute that he won an oscar for writing insipid mini tunes for an even worse movie. Whoa!! Hans Zimmer better watch his ass!

  • @rmed30 This is why Trent Reznor has no problem with taking to new areas of music, because he doesn't give one fuck in the world about the poor miserable and ignorant fuck wits like yourself. I hope you get cancer.

  • @QuantikMusic : First off I hope you go blind and your balls explode you dickless faggot! That said, there is nothing new or orignal about his new stuff. It's just safe, geriatric, elevator music ambient shit. It's been done before and much better.Trent has no problem taking his music here because he knows that by bypassing the record compaines, he could pretty much put a turd in a cd case, put "NIN" on the cover and sell it at a discount to a braindead, zombie, twat stain like you.

  • @rmed30 Your first mistake is thinking i'm a NIN zombie. I listen to them on occasion proving that you are ignorant and the one who is 'braindead' since your so willing to assume things about me that are incorrect. But really i'm not going to be playing along with your little game anymore because you are quite obviously a troll, if not you are one of the most senseless and idiotic person i know. Go on answer me back i will delete it the moment i see it, i don't waste my time talking to morons.

  • @rmed30 If you're stuck in that angry hell-hole Trent was stuck in then, then you obviously are headed down the wrong path. I love the old stuff as well as the new stuff, and it makes me happy that Trent has matured (and isn't in his 20's), and now has tons of experience under his belt to make stuff like this. He sings in his songs so much (I know The Fragile had stuff like this too, but this is obviously different), it was about time we just heard the melodies in his head from a better place.

  • @rmed30 Take notice in this.

  • Hahaha i like how everyone is putting all these stupid depressing scenarios on here

  • such a great album!! Trent you make life worth living through your music:>

  • I get an image of a child whos running and the further he runs the closer he is to the answer that evaded him all his life and just as he reaches it he realises he doesnt know what hel do after he finds out and finally after reaching out for what seems and eternity he grasps the meaning of his existance....my vision always ends there:(

  • This track puts me in mind of a lone traveler making his way though a ruined wasteland and the horrors he beholds while wondering what evils could be left alive!

  • When I think about this song images of a war torn world come to mind, and how humanity failed to save anything including themselves. A world where only the things we created remain.

  • Thank You Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for fucking existing...

  • I love how much variance Trent Reznor puts into Nine Inch Nails. I'd just finished listening to Piggy from The Downward Spiral before putting this on... if I didn't know rightly I'd have thought they were by two different artists.

  • lol, i imagine ellis from left 4 dead 2 on an average day of his life on the first day of the infection. ellis and dave have fun doing whatever it is rednecks do, then they see the reality of the infection on the first day it spreads. who knows what happened to dave, but ellis ends up meeting with the other 3 survivors.

  • aaarwh oh my god...

    it s so amazing!!!

  • I always picture myself on the beach when this song starts...when the sun is setting...then the 2nd half of the song is nighttime.

  • I play the second half of the song while I watch porn

    :P

  • An excellent concoction of musical imagination, and magnificent artistic ability.

  • The guitar in this is just....amazing

  • i like reading when i listen to some of the songs in this album. brilliant!

  • i dont smoke weed often, maybe once every month or two... but when i do, this is the shit i listen to

  • @remz857 Amen.

  • Sounds like a collaboration between Trent Reznor and Brian Eno.

My ultimate listening environment for this song would have to be in the ruins of the abandoned United Artists theater in Detroit. If you don't know about this place, Google some pictures of it, you'll see what I mean.

  • such a rejuvenating song.

  • i never really knew that there would be a day id realize something and say to the maker "what have you done?!" but mean that in a good way

  • whoa... :D it's almost like your high you feel so good...

  • I listened to this song for 7 hours straight while lying in the bed. It relaxes your mind.

  • @PSP3000PLAYER Wish i had 7 hours to lay in bed while listening to music.

I do have to say wasnt impressed with the ghost albums, its a cheesy fl studio type program slapped together in 30secs then sold at super high prices.

Any of you can make this stuff.

  • @spacintrvl2 uh, if anyone can make this stuff, why don't they?

  • @spacintrvl2 Are you serious? I thought the album was genius - and quite a refreshing change from most crap out there. I don't know of any other album that inspires visual imagery like this one. IMO.

  • @spacintrvl2 I feel sorry for your inability to comprehend the true meaning and depth of this work. "Cheesy fl studio type" Oh really. According to whom? The 496 people that liked this or the 31 people who don't know how to appreciate music? I'm pretty sure i know which category you fall into...

  • @spacintrvl2 anyone can make this stuff? then how come they don't? what about you, where's your music vids?

oh that's right, you're full of shit and you suck.

  • This song has everything to do with the story behing "The Great Below". You can tell by the photo with the song and the mood.

  • This track is sitting on the edge of a flat Earth.

  • He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts. If you don't get it, read the book It by Stephen King

  • I can taste The Fragile in this song....just a little though

  • It seems like I've had this song on my mp3 player for like ever.

  • I fell asleep to first disc of this album one time and had strange dreams of an industrial world of machine people and no real humans. Like it just happened one day. No cyborg or robot knew what was going on they were just 150% oblivious. When I fell asleep to the second discs I had dreams of deserts, I woke up when this song started playing though. It was in the middle of the night. I love this song.

  • @MadPumpkinGames thats a really cool experience for this album

  • @MadPumpkinGames i always thought that nine inch nails only did rock stuff but this album is amazing. the ghost songs are the only stuff from them that i like

  • @ishouldplayzelda See, I can understand that. I listen to all genre' of music whether it be metal, classical, opera, or even rap. I respect all music and love it for what it is. I always felt like NIN has something for everyone though.

  • @MadPumpkinGames I had a dream of a caterpillar eating a dewdrop off a leaf blade. And then the caterpillar stared at me with its large round eyes and grew bigger.

  • @AAV47 i once stepped on a caterpillar D:

  • NIN is more creative than anyone today

  • @a7xbigfan9 mars volta is pretty close

  • The whole album, is a masterpiece. This is my favorite, when I hear it a vision comes to mind. A group of adventurers barely escaping off a planet as it's being destroyed. Then the planet is no more, while the adventurers are in space looking upon the destruction.

  • @6Dia6blo6XI I don't feel this at all? It's sort of calming a planet being destroyed isn't calming unless of course it involves the death of a main character. Just my opinion.

  • @6Dia6blo6X I see myself walking down a sunny road and as i go further empty fields make way to sinister trees and a thunderstorm passes over head. That's the beauty of it isn't it, the music lets you interpret it how you want to =D

  • @RaVe4EvR122 You are correct, the beauty is we are left to interpret how we wish. We just close our eyes, while we listen and let the sounds fill our mind with images dancing to its tune.

  • I love the whole ghosts series

it's just beautiful as a while, even if I prefer some tracks more than others

it's just amazing - I can't believe they gave 7 of the tracks away for free!

  • i love this song <3

  • great song! you can imagine so many dark and happy moments in your head.

  • This makes me feel suicidal. No, wait, thats everything

  • @D3lud3d Well, that's a shame.

  • @D3lud3d

    what za F!?

  • gasoline for the daydream

  • The first part sounds victorious over a nightmare to me, and then the nightmare comes back. Such dark art this one!!

  • I love this song my fav ghost.

  • el inicio se parece a una de porthishead (L)

  • This is my favorite one out of them all. I want to say thank you for posting them all.

  • if u stare at the trees in the vid, they move like as if there was wind

  • @attackman456 is u high

  • @jingthethief no man! i don't take tht stuff...guess I just woke up wen i saw tht happen

  • @attackman456 hell yea it does! hahaha holy shit

  • @attackman456 Woah holy fuck!?

    That's an illusion right there!

  • @attackman456 omfg, youre actually right :OO Does look like theyre moving a little.

  • @attackman456 whoa.. it does

  • Reminds me of Left 4 Dead lol

  • @starfoxhero I hear a tank... No wait, Trent just knocked it out with his unbelieveable music. Hell, it's leaving me pretty stunned. :p

  • reminds me of the intro to x files.... somewhat... hehehehe duh duh duh duh duh... dun nuh nuh.... *mixes the original xfiles theme with this video* and... this music is really good... i find it epic when kicking ass online, soon to be zombie slaying on nazi zombies.. :D
