That being said, the DE is utter shit. Even for pistols, it jams way too much. I'd go with a Singe Action Army revolver any day.

what most ppl dont realize is that the DE has a floating magazine, if your putting any amount of pressure on the magazine when you fire the pistol will jam open, dont touch the magazine and it doesn't jam. that being said the DE isnt an ideal self defense gun, but damn its a blast to shoot!

I'm no expert on pistols, so forgive me if this sounds stupid, but...

The grip of a pistol is also where the mag's stored, right? How could you NOT put pressure on it?

@TheSorrowsGhost it has to do with the style of grip one uses, if one uses the "cupping" style of grip where the weak hand cups under the grip / action hand this will force the magazine up and jam the pistole,  with the weak hand wraped around the grip/action hand this leaves the magazine untouched and the pistol operates flawlessly. i hope this makes sense?

But again, the fact that the thing won't work unless you hold it a certain way makes it next to useless, except, of course, for showing off.

but like i said originally the DE is impractical for a carry / self defense weapon to begin with

@baghatur41, well for one, SWAT typically uses lower calibers like the 9mm due to they truely never really try to kill the person, just temporarily disable him. Special forces use the m9 (or other 9mm pistols) due to the accuracy. Personally, if i had a choice to choose between the 9mm beretta px4 storm, Deagle .50AE, or the .45 ACP. I'de choose the .45 ACP. The .50 AE deagle would be a good gun..cuase even if you missed youll scare the shit out of the person on the receiving end.
