I am glad I got my foundation at Tom Clifford's Karate, but that's all it was-a foundation. Chino DeLaPena and his pro boxing and MMA coaches developed me into the fighter I am. Currently competing at NAGA, GQ, and IBJJF Tournaments as well as Muay Thai fights.
Whoa... '95, would have still been training in Shotokan and Nintai-ryu Jujutsu in Brooklyn. It's amazing to see the common threads through all the systems, and also the various elements coming into forming the shape of the current TCMA curriculum. Yuko dekkimsahita!

i started my family and and im 19 years strong!that was one of the last times we spent time together other than running into one another in the mall from time to time! i wish i stuck with you and the school! i would have been one of your first students!not to mention a really skilled martial artist!i wonder if my beard wudda out grown yours?(hmmmm? lol!) hats off to you tom! wish you 20+ years more success! your pal charlie gonzalez!
my son is gonna be 18 in nov! i remember you drove me home to haverstraw one night and i was afraid of being a father, you told me id do well and the things you admired about me and so on...but i remember you put out your hand as a friend and said you would help me to say in the class even though i didnt have the money to do so....i never forgot that!
i couldn't help but remember the times when you first started out in the ball park! seems like yesterday!you were teaching me long fist then and its still part of your training i see. thinking about it now it must be almost 20 years ago!
