My kd is low, like .86 or something, but the biggest problem I'm having isn't getting kills, it's not knowing I'm being fired at until 3-4 bullets are already in me. I haven't been able to play in a bit (just moved to college, not much time) but I'd really give it a few more weeks, it's probably xmas noobs.
Quick note, the Predator Missile isn't feeding into any other kill streaks for me. I've tried using it both as a streak ender and a middle man to something higher, any ideas as to why?

i live in australia and although there is A LOT of players the ping time / lag is still not the best and i have over a 2mb per second download rate.

@SuperJKGaming How is that a bad kd? Honestly, anything over 1 means you aren't a burden to the team. KD isn't everything, team play can easily make up for that. I only have a .86 or something but because I give good support (flashbangs, UAVs, taking down campers, covering my allies, etc.) my team usually wins.
tl;dr: Point is, a non-phenomenal kd score doesn't mean you suck. Being a good teammate is a better trade-off.

@SuperJKGaming Some of it's lag, some of it's luck, and a good portion is experience. I don't know how long you've been playing, but from what I know Max has been playing for a long time and the relation translates from game to game. Aside from that, the same play style doesn't mean the same results. Mentality can mean a lot, and if you're still concerned, just watch his new k/d videos he'll post, I'm planning to.

I think that it would be alright to sacrifice theatre mode because I myself don't really use it but for people that make videos it would be a shame if they had a game that they could have got recorded in theatre mode but there was no chance.
The only problem I have with mw3 is the respawns and the maps. Fix those, and the game should be great. This is th worst set of maps that infinity ward has ever given us.
I notice sometimes that I'll fire at an enemy, hit markers show up, but then I die. When I watch the killcam, it doesn't register on their screen that they got hit at all. I've been told this is due to lag compensation. Is this a legit thing, and if so, is there a way to fix it?
I also thought theater mode was the cause of lag since both BLOPS and MW3 suffer from it and they both have theater mode. MW2 doesn't and it works very well. However, I tried turning off theater mode to see if it would fix the lag but it didn't. Then I realized that turning my own theater mode off wouldn't help as other players still has theirs enabled. So, I am all for removing theater mode and pray that it solves the lag issue.
Theater mode is useless for several reasons. First, you can't upload the entire game so what's the point, right? Also, theater mode renders your clip in low quality AND things in game like glass windows with repair itself and if you were shooting through the window then it looks like the glass is unbreakable. Not only is it inaccurate but if you were trying to show people what you are shooting at then they wont be able to see through that unbreakable glass window.
I have honestly never had any lag issues with ANY CoD game. But I'm running on 50 MB/s Fibre optic broadband, so it's more than likely that I get Host connection every time.
Max, when you speak of other games would you ever potentially include a Let's Play type content where you complete a game that has a definitive end? Or are you more of a multiplayer/continuous play character? In any event, include Doom!
I'm just wondering Max, did you ever play Counter-Strike at all? Its surposedly coming for xbla soonish and I was wondering if it would be a game you would be likely to make videos on. Team Fortress and Counter-Strike is what got me into competitive shooters to begin with so its a huge nostalgia factor for me to have it on xbla with my friends.
Um max, you know they could turn off theater mode. The camera that is on midscreen when you about to do matchmaking. All you have to do is turn it off to avoid getting laggage.

Its never consistently good, its either horrible or managable. Ive only had about a few games where i didnt have people sliding behind cover or teleporting. Never had this problem in MW2
Yeah the only thing I have an issue with is the spawning on some maps other than that I am completely satisfied with the game I am actually rocking a 1.1 KD I got up from 1.05 to 1.1 over Christmas holidays

Lol im at .703, but I come out on top all the time when i play demo, might be because i plant and defuse all the time with some kills, but whenever i get a good load of kills (Round 20-30) my deaths are like 40-50 :(
Lag ops was bad when it made me host. Mw3 is laggy every game for me. Cod4 mw2 run great. Tried mw3 last night for the first time in 2 weeks . 4 bars and it just lagged. U know when u shoot someone and nothing happens .
I can clearly see it is taking me far more bullets to get a kill than any other cod. and its suppose to be less in this one .
But i always die in 3 or 4 bullets. As it should be.
@mrbtjustice i've got a funny theater mode moment (shows the lag compensation) where im unloadin on a guy who ran past me... and for the first half of my clip im shooting the ground but never turn to hit him until all of a sudden like a frame jump i turn and put the last 4 bullets in him. lame as shit
My K/D has definitely gone up. IT went from about a 1.38 to a 1.52 within the passing week (most because of Christmas noobs, lol). The lag has slightly changed, but the connection advantage going to one team still gets out there. I feel as if some things slightly changed weapons wise. The striker/ext. mags feels it got slightly nerfed. The type 95 has seemed slightly easier to beat at a distance. But the weapons still seem to be over the top good.
the only cod without theater mode that had issues was waw it chooses good hosts some of the time but other times it wood choose persons with bad connections. the only good thing was it would do a host migration immediately if the host was bad
To me it seems that My K/D has skyrocketed since the start of my play. I don't know if that is the lag getting better or if it is the Christmas noobs. I think the game still has its lag issues such as when I am going around a corner and getting shot. I am around the corner and I die, but in the enemies kill-cam it shows that I was in the open and not around the corner. I think the lag is better but in my case I am not quite sure why I am all of a sudden doing better then I have done before.
Cod4 on the PS3 picks THE WORST hosts ever. but when it picks a good host where i have a 3 or maybe even a 4 bar it's a great game. waw was the same issue, Black Ops was good but the FRAME RATE ISSUES(PS3) made it seem like it was laggy but it wasn't but it still ruined the experience 99% of the time. In my opinion MW2 was had the perfect system. Mw3 feels like mw2's just a tad shittier, like adding theatre mode made it worse or something.
I don't know. I've been experiencing a fair share amount of lag the past couple of days, even through unbearable levels. Like, frames would just skip, first thing I am here, then I am there. And I NEVER had that happen before. My wire as well as my wireless connections are good, but still, I always seem to get paired up with people with 2 bar connections, while I stay at 4. It's frustrating to no end. But I'll go check back today, I have BO, MW2 and MW3 to play. So I'll be busy. Maybe UMvC3 too.
I'm getting a far bit of lag. i never really played the earlier games so i can't compare them, but there have been times where i have shot 4 or 5 times yet on the kill cam i havn't fired once. Despite this however, my K/D ratio is improving, it gone from like 0.7 to 0.8, not good but improving. i've found i do better playing offensivley in key points on a map
My connection gets worse by the day. After 2 weeks I played it again yesterday and I raged within 30 minutes. If they don't fix this I don't think I'll ever play MW3 again. Even though I absolutely loved it at the beginning, this game is getting worse and worse in my opinion.
It all feels the same as it always has since mw2 as far as lag is concerned for me, but I am playing mw3 far less than the previous COD games but my KD is highest overall in MW3 compared to the rest. But then again there's less tools to mess around with IMO in mw3, no more running around and throwing tomahawks everywhere, fun stuff like that...
As a run and gunner I still notice the lag. I still have enemies bullets snaking around the corners and killing me. Sometimes my shots won't even be seen as I blast them around the corner on their killcam. I still have players knifing me commando style as I run away. I think MW3 has trouble keeping up with the fast-paced players. I've had 4 bar games and 3 bar games, and neither seems to make any impact. Some of my least laggiest games were 3 bars. It's still broken.
The Christmas Noobs... Couldn't of said it better, Max. You've got a great handle on Modern Warfare 3 mentality and the lag is almost non-existant when I'm alone, but when I'm in a group, it's based on who's hosting the party on the PS3.

I started playing CoD on the Xbox with MW2 but I played WaW and CoD4 on the Wii before I had the 360. Once Black Ops came out I was sure I would NEVER touch MW2 ever again but after a few months I got really bored, the gameplay was too slow so I went back to MW2 and realized that it was more fun than Black Ops. It's not that Black Ops was a bad game, Treyarch had good ideas, but it wasn't nearly as fast paced as MW2. Now that MW3 is out I have essentially BO and MW2 combined. Success achieved!
I went 35-7 today on TDM. whether it was christmas noobs, lag fixed lag or a little of both...i'm happy lol. i just prestiged and i've been going consistently 20+ on TDM.
i really only lagged on mw3 i think its because im never host. No matter wat the fuck i do even if i am the first one into the game im still not host but for some reason when i back out theres always a host mnigration
Today I had a match where every member on my team (including me) had 2 bars. For my surprise we beat the other team who had 5 bars, they could have fix it but, without an update? I don t know what to think.
I haven't had much of a problem with lag but I've been having a horrible time playing vs Akimbo classes. I've gotten games where almost the entire team would be using it and I'd be dying instantly after spawning over and over. It's really killing the game for me
Why in this game the enemy team doesn't use blind eye? they should know that someone is owning them with AGMs and Ac-130s but no one use blind eye. not even the guy with the stinger-.- when i use my class with blind eye and assassin, i will dominate the game.

If anything i've noticed lag more over the last two-or-so weeks. Often i'll watch back killcams and the person who dropped me appears in a completely different location to where i saw them.
Often i'm firing at least 3/4 bullets into someone before my shots even begin to register, seemingly disappearing into the ether. Or they register over a second or two later, but not before the player's used their borrowed time to put bullets into my confused face.
this week the only time i had a large lag problem was when i was in a game with someone who had a one bar and people were jumpin around all over the place
One shooter that I swear had no lag, but I hated the game (Only got it because of the multiplayer sounded neat) Was MAG 256, or something around that and no lag, and that is when I had a router that was a potatoe!!! Throughout my whole time playing it I kept saying that every game needs these servers or netcodes.
Speaking for myself, I've had very little lag with COD4, CODWAW or CODBO but I get/got a lot of lag with CODMW2 and CODMW3. It gets so bad that MW3 is barely playable. And before the trolls say get a better internet connection, my connection is great and I don't have problems with other games

still there for me, not saying I am a godly player but the only time I seem to die is because of lag or scrubs (campers and such), so it's still fucking me.
I still get horribly owned by people because of lagg, ill enter a room empty half my clip into a guy, then die, when i watch the killcam i barely fired off two shots, this seems only with MW3 and black ops... all my other games work just fine
The only FPS' I play are the unrealistic insane ones like Unreal and Tribes, and just looking at this I think it's ludicrous. It's already dumb that someone can hit you on their screen when you're in a different position on your own and you die (ie lag compensation) but I see so many kills in these vids where you're aiming behind the opponent, by some pretty decent amounts, and they still die. Remember when you had to aim your guns in FPS'? Seems this game is positioning and nothing else.
I still feel like the host/hosts team has an advantage. Most of the games I play the top scorer will have like double the kills of the top player on the other team. The rest of the team on the hosts side will all be positive K/D. While Most of the people on the non-host team will either be even or positive by a few kills. I mostly play team deathmatch. The only time i felt BO was when i played barebones.
I feel like the lag got slightly better myself. I actually turned off the theater recording on my account but idk if that actually helped out with the lag or not.
I did play around 10 or more games a couple days ago and I only went negative once so I'll believe turning off theater helped me a lot haha :)
I have found the connection has improved a bit, I mostly use shotguns (usually spas) and I have been doing better lately
I also occasionly knife only (or shield) but there is always some weird close proximity issue where you get the knife/shield lunge and on the kill cam they have teleported behind you for an easy kill.

I remember christmas noobs made cod 4 literally unplayable for about a week, the servers couldn't all the people and you just couldn't get online.
I feel like I am struggling terribly in MW3 because none of my friends play anymore so I have to solo q and I just get stomped.
I have always been a support player and with noobs on your team that just doesn't go well.

Lol im at .703, but I come out on top all the time when i play demo, might be because i plant and defuse all the time with some kills, but whenever i get a good load of kills (Round 20-30) my deaths are like 40-50 :(

Lag ops was bad when it made me host. Mw3 is laggy every game for me. Cod4 mw2 run great. Tried mw3 last night for the first time in 2 weeks . 4 bars and it just lagged. U know when u shoot someone and nothing happens .
I can clearly see it is taking me far more bullets to get a kill than any other cod. and its suppose to be less in this one .
But i always die in 3 or 4 bullets. As it should be.

@mrbtjustice i've got a funny theater mode moment (shows the lag compensation) where im unloadin on a guy who ran past me... and for the first half of my clip im shooting the ground but never turn to hit him until all of a sudden like a frame jump i turn and put the last 4 bullets in him. lame as shit

My K/D has definitely gone up. IT went from about a 1.38 to a 1.52 within the passing week (most because of Christmas noobs, lol). The lag has slightly changed, but the connection advantage going to one team still gets out there. I feel as if some things slightly changed weapons wise. The striker/ext. mags feels it got slightly nerfed. The type 95 has seemed slightly easier to beat at a distance. But the weapons still seem to be over the top good.

the only cod without theater mode that had issues was waw it chooses good hosts some of the time but other times it wood choose persons with bad connections. the only good thing was it would do a host migration immediately if the host was bad

To me it seems that My K/D has skyrocketed since the start of my play. I don't know if that is the lag getting better or if it is the Christmas noobs. I think the game still has its lag issues such as when I am going around a corner and getting shot. I am around the corner and I die, but in the enemies kill-cam it shows that I was in the open and not around the corner. I think the lag is better but in my case I am not quite sure why I am all of a sudden doing better then I have done before.

Cod4 on the PS3 picks THE WORST hosts ever. but when it picks a good host where i have a 3 or maybe even a 4 bar it's a great game. waw was the same issue, Black Ops was good but the FRAME RATE ISSUES(PS3) made it seem like it was laggy but it wasn't but it still ruined the experience 99% of the time. In my opinion MW2 was had the perfect system. Mw3 feels like mw2's just a tad shittier, like adding theatre mode made it worse or something.

I don't know. I've been experiencing a fair share amount of lag the past couple of days, even through unbearable levels. Like, frames would just skip, first thing I am here, then I am there. And I NEVER had that happen before. My wire as well as my wireless connections are good, but still, I always seem to get paired up with people with 2 bar connections, while I stay at 4. It's frustrating to no end. But I'll go check back today, I have BO, MW2 and MW3 to play. So I'll be busy. Maybe UMvC3 too.

Yeah, Black ops lagged in the beginning but later they fixed it. Same with mw3, in the beginning it was terrible but it seems to be better now.

I'm getting a far bit of lag. i never really played the earlier games so i can't compare them, but there have been times where i have shot 4 or 5 times yet on the kill cam i havn't fired once. Despite this however, my K/D ratio is improving, it gone from like 0.7 to 0.8, not good but improving. i've found i do better playing offensivley in key points on a map

My connection gets worse by the day. After 2 weeks I played it again yesterday and I raged within 30 minutes. If they don't fix this I don't think I'll ever play MW3 again. Even though I absolutely loved it at the beginning, this game is getting worse and worse in my opinion.

It all feels the same as it always has since mw2 as far as lag is concerned for me, but I am playing mw3 far less than the previous COD games but my KD is highest overall in MW3 compared to the rest. But then again there's less tools to mess around with IMO in mw3, no more running around and throwing tomahawks everywhere, fun stuff like that...

As a run and gunner I still notice the lag. I still have enemies bullets snaking around the corners and killing me. Sometimes my shots won't even be seen as I blast them around the corner on their killcam. I still have players knifing me commando style as I run away. I think MW3 has trouble keeping up with the fast-paced players. I've had 4 bar games and 3 bar games, and neither seems to make any impact. Some of my least laggiest games were 3 bars. It's still broken.

The Christmas Noobs... Couldn't of said it better, Max. You've got a great handle on Modern Warfare 3 mentality and the lag is almost non-existant when I'm alone, but when I'm in a group, it's based on who's hosting the party on the PS3.

I started playing CoD on the Xbox with MW2 but I played WaW and CoD4 on the Wii before I had the 360. Once Black Ops came out I was sure I would NEVER touch MW2 ever again but after a few months I got really bored, the gameplay was too slow so I went back to MW2 and realized that it was more fun than Black Ops. It's not that Black Ops was a bad game, Treyarch had good ideas, but it wasn't nearly as fast paced as MW2. Now that MW3 is out I have essentially BO and MW2 combined. Success achieved!

I haven't had much of a problem with lag but I've been having a horrible time playing vs Akimbo classes. I've gotten games where almost the entire team would be using it and I'd be dying instantly after spawning over and over. It's really killing the game for me

Why in this game the enemy team doesn't use blind eye? they should know that someone is owning them with AGMs and Ac-130s but no one use blind eye. not even the guy with the stinger-.- when i use my class with blind eye and assassin, i will dominate the game.

If anything i've noticed lag more over the last two-or-so weeks. Often i'll watch back killcams and the person who dropped me appears in a completely different location to where i saw them.
Often i'm firing at least 3/4 bullets into someone before my shots even begin to register, seemingly disappearing into the ether. Or they register over a second or two later, but not before the player's used their borrowed time to put bullets into my confused face.

One shooter that I swear had no lag, but I hated the game (Only got it because of the multiplayer sounded neat) Was MAG 256, or something around that and no lag, and that is when I had a router that was a potatoe!!! Throughout my whole time playing it I kept saying that every game needs these servers or netcodes.

Speaking for myself, I've had very little lag with COD4, CODWAW or CODBO but I get/got a lot of lag with CODMW2 and CODMW3. It gets so bad that MW3 is barely playable. And before the trolls say get a better internet connection, my connection is great and I don't have problems with other games

I still get horribly owned by people because of lagg, ill enter a room empty half my clip into a guy, then die, when i watch the killcam i barely fired off two shots, this seems only with MW3 and black ops... all my other games work just fine

The only FPS' I play are the unrealistic insane ones like Unreal and Tribes, and just looking at this I think it's ludicrous. It's already dumb that someone can hit you on their screen when you're in a different position on your own and you die (ie lag compensation) but I see so many kills in these vids where you're aiming behind the opponent, by some pretty decent amounts, and they still die. Remember when you had to aim your guns in FPS'? Seems this game is positioning and nothing else.

I still feel like the host/hosts team has an advantage. Most of the games I play the top scorer will have like double the kills of the top player on the other team. The rest of the team on the hosts side will all be positive K/D. While Most of the people on the non-host team will either be even or positive by a few kills. I mostly play team deathmatch. The only time i felt BO was when i played barebones.

I feel like the lag got slightly better myself. I actually turned off the theater recording on my account but idk if that actually helped out with the lag or not.
I did play around 10 or more games a couple days ago and I only went negative once so I'll believe turning off theater helped me a lot haha :)

I have found the connection has improved a bit, I mostly use shotguns (usually spas) and I have been doing better lately
I also occasionly knife only (or shield) but there is always some weird close proximity issue where you get the knife/shield lunge and on the kill cam they have teleported behind you for an easy kill.
