  • Saw/Squ Crossmod with OSCEdit1 around 60, overlayed with a sine wave playing at the bass register - perfect wobble on an Electribe.

  • I couldn't help but notice all the kids are trying really hard to be like that skrillex guy..

  • @TheTweeker79 this isn't even skrillex's style though. im just trying to teach people how to be creative with dubstep on these things.

  • [H]ardware>software. Can this arpeggiate other hardware synths over MIDI?

  • those who share the most --- know the most. deuces

  • sounds like crap, Il stick with vsts and ableton

  • @Hematemesis you're saying my stuff sounds like crap? have you listened to your uploads?

  • @cartmankills No I havent listened to them, although I uploaded them

  • @cartmankills you guys both sound like crap

  • @Hematemesis That's the kind of comment you make if you are either ignorant, jealous, or immature. Maybe cant afford good quality hardware so you made a decision that only what you could afford (Cheap VST's) sounded good. This may not be a prime example (No Offence Cartmankills) of warm, phat analogue bass but as stated in one of the video comments, only 3 hours was spent on the production of this tune.

I am assuming this vid was only created to inspire & help not a mine is bigger competition!

  • @djjodav Its more like linking the drum beats and the wobbles, getting some quality effects working at the same time; try to do that with machines, it will be hard. We all have heard those analog lovin people commenting about the goods of working with harware, yet the production levels you can get with sofware sometimes is way better. Im talking only about wobbles, dont get me wrong, I dont want the hatred of the gods of electronica.3 hours? 20 min even with itchy vsts, better sound.

  • It also depends on personal tastes as to music quality, even sound but it is a well known fact that VST's are designed to emulate analogue (with a few exceptions of some newly created digital fx etc) So as good as a VST may sound (I use them often as a quick addition to my actual hardware) they are still just copies of real alternatives (The real deal often costing $2000-8000).

  • So I'm just starting out with making electronic music with actual hardware as opposed to VSTs, and it's a damn jungle.

But, I've had a look around and the Electribe series seem like a good place to start. Would you recommend getting an EMX right off the bat, or should I try my hand at the earlier ER-1?

  • Great little tutorial although I'd say depending on depth and 'fatness' of the bass a dual waveform using sine and pulse is usually the way to go. Of course, the valves could also be changed too.. dammit.. I love this blue box-a-trix!!!!

  • just got my emx and i know its stupid but how do i move bar like moving the green light to number 2 ect?

  • omg thank you x

  • @xAbbeyxDawnx no problem! im glad this could help!

  • haha what?

  • is this the SD?

  • @zakisbomb55 nope, its the korg emx.

  • @cartmankills LOL

  • @cartmankills he means is it the new EMX that takes SD instead of smartmedia card

  • @Akaimayn ohhh gotcha, my answer is still no unfortunately this is the one that takes flash.

  • @cartmankills I used to have the SmartMedia one,got rid of it,it like house, and i just couldnt make anything i was totally happy with in the EMX.might get a new one and try again!

  • @zakisbomb55 yeah it is :P
