I think I found a pair of fieros for a little bit of nothing. One is an earlier notchback and the other is an '86-'88 GT. The GT is already taken apart and the notchback needs a transmission. Can I just swap the whole undercarriage from the GT into the notchback considering that I plan to do a 3.8 swap on the GT chassis? In other words will the V6 fit in the duke's place without modification?

Do you happen to know if someone could bolt '86 gt quarters, tail lights, and bumper on the back of a notchback without major body modifications? Just wondering as about a year ago a guy tried to give my dad a notchback with a broken transmission and I'm thinking of buying it.

crossfire 305 was the weakest v8 camaro/corvette engine ever made...use a lt1, ls1 or even tpi. I know this car is light and any v8 will make it go fast but if ur gonna go to that much work to swap engines use a real v8.
Yea... some V8's can be ugly bastards in the tiny Fiero, but they definitely make it get up and go. My dads friend put a fucking HUGE Cadillac motor in his 87 Formula. It's an ugly bitch, but its damn quick. That's why I'm opting more for the Camaro/Corvette line of engines.
I did not think the 305 Crossfire would launch your Fiero as well as it did. I owned a 305HO and of course it being in the heavier F body, it was never very fast. Your Fiero seems to love that 305 Crossfire. Nice job on both cars. I almost bought a Fiero 4.9FI locally a few months ago, but then as usual, the extra coin got spoken for before I could get the car. Most people make the mistake of trying to cam it like a 350 chevy which makes it run worse. Also, they are some go heads and intakes for that engine, like the L31 vortec cylinder heads or the World products.

That was one of the worst fuel injection systems that GM put out, that's why it was only around a few years and was replaced by TBI. You would have made more HP converting to TBI or the very least carb. Love the black tape on the center console lid btw.

I dont think the red one is an '84 for two reasons.
ONE: I didnt think that 1984 Fieros came in GT
TWO: 1984 Fieros had magnesium trunk grille plates (but I guess it might just be changed off of an 85)

Do you realize 4 barrel carburetors will make more power on similar engines than similar CFM fuel injected cars. Do you know why? I doubt it. But due to the fuel pressure, you can stuff a whole lot more fuel into an engine at the same PSI, than an injection system could.

NOT A 3800, this motor was the last GM 3.8 before thay went to the 3800. It is not classified as a 3800

These are only temperary engines since the good state of MS gets on your ass for having to many cars the dont run on your property if you live in the city. The red fiero has a built 350 with holly 1000 cfm fuel-inj. somewhere in the 400hp estimated mark, and the silver fiero has a 94 Cadillac Northstar V8 with future nitrous, in the works. So stop doggin use about the enignes.

Adam in the silver car was not on the brakes.
I was on the brakes to plant both cars.
and to say it one more time the cars were chained from the cradles so they saw no more stress than just spining the tires on slick concrete.

although I am not a big fan of the fiero, and would have loved to see that wrecked camaro you took the engine from get revamped (I have a firebird and I'm a huge camaro and firebird fan haha), you guys did pretty good work. Engine and performance should come first, now get some suspension, brakes if needed, maybe some custom interior work, and paint haha. not all at once of course, I just assume this is a project car

Dude u shoud get a hold of a chevy 454 or 572 engine and mount it in a differant fiero and put some big drag slicks on back. You could probably lift the front end on take off then.

I will post vids soon of my new 86 custom widened fiero with a 350 small block chevy needs work but I think you'll like it fierofred, I was just thinking though when you did the burnout there, the smoke must have been drawn in by the intake especially since it's a rear mounted motor and the smoke was right there, isn't that really bad for the motor?

LOVE IT! I'm showing my buddy this video tomorrow, hope it will get him jazed up to work on his fiero again. 2.8 bored/stroked to 3.1 and a vortec supercharger, bigger injectors,better fuelpump, MSD, fuel pressure riser...Fun project that I am happy to be a minor part of. Cant wait til he's done. BIG power, SMALL car.. ROCK ON!!!

it was nothing major, so you couldnt find a reason not to like them. I think for me its just the figures and the weight. skoda's were the worst cars on the planet and now because of that i would never buy 1 even though there now made by VW ....the fact that its a skoda still makes it shit in my head. what im tryin to say is, its what ever you find more ....comfatable with??..as in you know whats, what... the bad bits and the good bits.

and i agree to make a slow car fast is a challenge. how ever to get 2 v8s 1 being say a chevy or ford and the other to be an merc or bmx engine mod them the same and the german engine would push more.. there lighter and rev higher thefore making more power
you obviusly know alot about cars and engines but i guess its every man to his own taste. you have had american v8s and never had a problem or if you have.

Try the Cadiilac 32 valve Northstar v8. ALL aluminum, DOHC, 4 valves per cyclinder motor (just like these shit for motor hondas). Only with twice the cubic inches. and the still rev to like 7000....COMPLETELY STOCK!!!!
