Most plays/musicals have crew all set up, and there are a few student crew members that do costumes/makeup, and most do use ben nye makeup. My school does. I walked into the costume room and wanted to see their makeup, and they took out a huge box of ben nye (mostly face makeup though) but yeah. How did they let you do makeup?
I have this palette, and my lid closes? hm. but it's super annoying because my cosmic blue fell out of the holder so now when ever i open it cosmic blue and the pan always come out. and a HUGE chunk of my azaela is out. lol. i think ben nye should've spent a little more time on product DESIGN than product, because we all know the product quality is there! lol. great review! Great review! I totally feel you on the plastic lids, they're pretty awful. My palette closes securely though, so maybe yours is just a fluke? I don't like the brush either. When I got mine (months ago), one color was broken and the brush came apart the first time I tried to use it, but the company I bought it from were great and replaced both items. I love this item, can't recommend it enough.
Thanks Bark! I use the brush, but I use it for applying lash glue on my lid for glitter...its pretty Crap-tastic! LOL! But glue picks right out of it. It works well for paint pots too since the fibers dont absorb the product. Thanks for watching!

You can defientrly rock them during the work week...its about controlling the color. Start with a little and then build up. You can totally make these colors nuetral...get in there adn play! Great colors, nice and soft...a great palette for the money!
Thanks for an honest and thorough review of the entire palette. I actually keep a rubber band around the palette for a little extra security. =0]
As for the brush that comes with the palette, I've found that it works incredibly well with the Kryolan Aquacolor palettes, so if you own some AquaColors, try that brush out with that.

I just got this. Have you noticed that according the numbers, the Ben Nye eyeshadow compact (2.7 grams) is supposedly one gram less than the shadows in the compact? (44/12=~3.7 grams). It's stumping me.

You should look into MAC Sushi FLower...and use it as a feature color...not over the entire eye, just the center of the lid with a highlight in the inner corner and a darker crease color. Thanks so much!

I dont work for a company or a makeup counter. I go to peoples home (or they come to mine) and I do thier makeup for a flat fee. I also sell samples of pigments ($4) and paint pots ($3) to help make a profit. I live in an area filled with military wives who cant afford to pay MAC prices or travel the 55 min to the store with thier kids. They really arent going to dish out $20 for a pigment jar just to "try" it out.
that is so cool. because im going to be going to school in aug. for make up and i heard alot about free lance. also soon when i get some money im going to buy some samples from youuu =]
