@sebastainknight LOL never mind i see a post answers the question i remember a lot of these vids casue we all lok at GL and ATWT all us kids baseball time was over after 12 noon...lol
Wow! I was a huge Hillary and Jim (Jim was Tony's brother later on) and Tony and Annabelle fan - so to see these clips of Hillary and Tony planning a date cracks me up. Of course at the time I was 10yrs old so I didn't remember much.
I wish that someone had most/all of the Diane Ballard murder mystery/Carrie's trial/Carrie's multiple personalities...but as I said before, VCRs were not common then...
@schuyler10 I have to admit the Diane Ballard-Joe Bradley murders mystery/Carrie's trial/Carrie's multiple personality story would be in the top ten of the stories I'd like to see more video of and to watch either, again or for the first time from GL's past (I was so glad that this vid. fell literally into my lap a few years ago to give to kerster to post here on youtube).
@TheWhatsinaname Other GL stories in my top 10 wish list to see on video are: 1. Tracey Delmar aka Charlotte Waring trying to fleece Dr. Sara McIntyre from 1967 - 68. 2. Lee Gantry and Miss Mildred Foss gaslighting Sara from 1969 - 70. 3. The murder of Stanley Norris and the trial of Leslie Jackson Bauer Norris for the murder and Marion Conway coming forward in confessing to the murder, 1971 - 72.
@TheWhatsinaname 4. The reign of terror of Katherine "Kit" Vestid, 1973 - 74. 5. Rita Stapleton's murder trial for murdering Cyrus Granger, 1977. 6. Rita Stapleton being stalked by Georgene Belmont Granger, 1977 - 78. 7. Dean Blackford's reign of terror, 1978 - 79, including his death off the cliff. 8. Lucille Wexler's death and the trial of Jennifer Richards for the murder, 1980 - 81. 9. The stalking of Evie McFerrin, 1981.
OH my gosh, I remember Lesley Ann! Wow, let's see, I must have been 11 then. How weird. Thanks for posting these! I wish I could get the entire soap, now that it is gone, on DVD.
I remember a quote from Carrie Marler that has stuck with me since I first got hook on GL when I was in collge. The quote was directed to goody Trish Lewis. Carrie said, "I just despise people with good breeding and good morals when underneath they are nothing but TRASH!" Carrie was so wicked AND funny at the same time. I have actually used the quote referring to people I know, as well!!!
that's funny..!! I used to love Carrie for the same reason...Her lines were hilarious..I used to laugh just thinking about the things she would say ...
Every now and then I pull out the video of Carrie and get a good laugh! Carrie reminds me of some of the people I know or used to hang out with!!!! However, I'm not as dysfunctional as I used to be!!! It might be fun having multiple personalities!!!
That's Nigel Reed (not Mercantel) playing Tim Werner, the last actor to do so. Very bad recast after Kevin Bacon and Mercantel were so definitive in the role.
And many GL viewers today would be shocked at how evil Josh used to be.
I don't remember these episodes as much as I do the 1983/1984 episodes...Josh was introduced in 1981 as a black sheep of the Lewis oil family and in reading about the show I learned through the various books he was quite the bad guy...like Ross Marler was at first. Each character took their turn at Amanda Spaulding, too.
Not only would they be shocked at how Josh was prior to Reva being introduced but they'd probably cringe in horror at Josh willfully sleeping with Carrie Todd, just for kicks.
I remember they were trying to lead the audience into believing that Mark Evans was Henry's long-lost son Sean - hence, that long discussion about Mark's mother and the father he never knew.
I would love to see the Diane Ballard murder trial again...Marland delved so deeply into Carrie's psyche, it was easy to believe that she had MPD later...
Have you heard anything about getting Dinae ballard murder mystery footage? If only VCRs were commonplace back then. I KNOW that I would have had the wherewithall to tape it back then...
@schuyler10 Hi Schuyler! I don't know why I didn't notice this reply of yours until now!
To answer your question: No, I haven't heard of or seen any clips from the Diane Ballard murder mystery (except the 20-something part YouTube clip series entitled "Machinations"). Also, I haven't been here looking at older GL clips lately, so maybe there's something here now....
You forgot in the credits to list Janet Grey's Evie Stapleton McFerrin. She's the one with Katie Parker in most of the scenes. That guy in the glasses who stops Mark Evans also looks like a familiar actor but I can't remember where I've seen him before -- although he does look like a mid-1980's temporary/day {although more than one day} character who was on ATWT. I'll have to check Poll's ATWT book or the ClassicATWT website if his name comes to mind.
That's Mark Pinter you're talking about. He played "Brian McColl" on ATWT in the 1980's, "Grant Chambers" on AW, and a small role on GL several years back. He's also married to Colleen Zenk-Pinter (Barbara on ATWT).
Wow Josh seemed to be a lil bad back then, never seen that side of him before. And why does Katie look like a young Kim Cattrall.
