Delenn is one of the best characters, she is calm, polite and kind but if you ever make the mistake of pissing her off, she will utterly destroy you!
And it's true what she said, the only human captain ever to fight the Mimbari in battle, win and survive to tell the tale was now under her protection, if those captains were stupid enough to stay and fight her ships, they'd be dead before they could say:

Who conquered Brazil: the trigger-happy Spaniards or the gift-giving "nice" Portuguese?
But under the circumstances, The ship was bigger, stronger, faster, It's gun ports had just opened and the ship was not answering to any hails from the humans.
Under those conditions I think it may be justified to believe they were about to become hostile, not saying it was the right course of action but you can understand the captains position however wrong he may have been.

@xadam2dudex thats something i always liked about babylon 5, humans were the new kids on the block. we had the lowest level of technology and least experience in space travel.
almost every other scifi show you watch humans are the innovators, we have the biggest, strongest, fastest, best, tech out there. even in star trek, where the vulcans had space travel thousands of years before us we still have all the better toys, it makes no sense.

The only way to avoid "reinforcing" would be just the on-hand Starfuries, and in that case they'd be outweighed by sheer numbers. So, since there's no harm either way, why not bring the biggest guns to the table?

One hit from that was shown in Sheridan's assault on Earth to be able to cause severe, if not crippling, damage to an Omega Destroyer. Plus, and this is speculation on my part, a good bit of the Minbari advantage over EA seemed to be in electronic warfare - EarthForce couldn't fight Minbari ships effectively because they couldn't see them.
@kantlavar maybe canon or not...it is said that the warlock does contain shadow targeting technology or some derivative.....well on paper it could not miss and possible to get positive lock on the sharlin.......one on one....both actually on par to each other......but as a fleet........the warlock clearly in disadvantage due to focusing main weapon too much.....the secondary pulse although is devastating...but still lack all round firepower coverage compared to sharlin....

The Minbari would win the EA-M War even if Earth had a Warlock/Omega based fleet, this is why
1) Technological Superiority. The EA is still WAY behind in tech (given earth Tech of 2165ish).
2) Numerical Superiority. When it came to Space Fighting Vessels, particularly in the area of capital ships, the Minbari appear to be ahead. Anyone that has seen B5 In the Beginning will remember seeing all those Sharlins at the Battle of the Line. There must have been 10k of capital shipping for the Minbari.
@RasterGraph Omega Class ships would never have won a battle against even ONE Minbari Heavy Cruiser and they know it. Hell, the WHITE STAR could have probably taken them all on.
@pcuimac Sharlin war Cruisers are big and powerful, no question, but when it comes to coolness the Whitestar will always be my fav and I would take it any day of the week over the Sharlin War Cruiser

actually i think delenn is one of the worst characters from B5...
Molari and G'kar are much more widespread and interesting in the show.
Their whole dispute, and how they act on each other is far more convincing and funny as delenn could ever be.
also i still think that delenn in Season 1 was more convincing than with that hair attached... (ya i know why she did that but that's just.... bah - can't tell ... ugly!)

I was always fond of the Minbari, and their sheer influence just eeks of "Don't Mess With Us." Even in their newer ships the Earth commanders ran away scared.
An Omega is just one of the earlier Earth Alliance destroyers on steroids. The tech isn't that advanced compared to what they used to have. Even the new really advanced tech destroyers (Warlocks? Can't remember the name) with some minor Whitestar tech got destroyed by Centauri ships later on in the story. A Sharlin would tear through those ships and their fighters wouldn't stand a chance against the Minbari fighters. It would be a turkey shoot. That's exactly why they left so quickly.
there was a 3 minbari sharlin warcruisers and whitestar ,two omegas are not match for that force,,but if there been only one sharlin and whitestar,combined fire from both omegas are more then enough to destroy sharlin,so basicly EA would win,but on cost of new war,
10 Omegas could not take out 1 War Cruiser they can't target the Ships. or did you forget they almost wipe out the humans with no lost to them but the one ship That was taken out which was dam lucky really. He had to think to take one out because they could not target they ships either.
It would be a much different confrontation ten years late as Earth spent no expense in acquiring more powerful weapons than they were able to use against the Minbari during the war. Not that the outcome would be different, just that the Minbari would suffer much greater losses
@Qugie Acutally the Minibari did suffer other losses when the landed on plantes and fough hand to hand and some earth Ships rammed right into the Minabri warships to take them down with them I seen if on the movie where it shows the Earth Minibari war
@Zagoreni Minbari technology is at least 1000 years ahead of human. They fought and beat the shadows at a point in time where Marco Polo discovered the route to China and Dschingis Khan threatened Eastern Europe.
No way they would win a battle against a Minbari fleet. Not in a ship against ship battle and I doubt the Minbari would fall for that fake distress call from a mined asteroid field trick again.....
@Zagoreni Disagree remeber Earth Ships cannot target Minibar Sharlin warships or fighters as teh have some kind of stealth technology that pervents their ships from targetting the ships. Hence one Sharlin warship and white star could still beat those to Omages warships
Say there was only one Sharlin class and the White Star, so the Earthforce ships felt they could engage them. Even if they won - which they wouldn't - killing Delenn would be a grave mistake. I believe it was said best:
"The Minbari are funny about thier leaders. You kill her, and they're libel to take it kind of personal."
Do you want a second Battle of the Line? Do you? Really? Kill another one of thier leaders and you'll find out.

The Minbari would win the EA-M War even if Earth had a Warlock/Omega based fleet, this is why
1) Technological Superiority. The EA is still WAY behind in tech (given earth Tech of 2165ish).
2) Numerical Superiority. When it came to Space Fighting Vessels, particularly in the area of capital ships, the Minbari appear to be ahead. Anyone that has seen B5 In the Beginning will remember seeing all those Sharlins at the Battle of the Line. There must have been 10k of capital shipping for the Minbari.

@RasterGraph Omega Class ships would never have won a battle against even ONE Minbari Heavy Cruiser and they know it. Hell, the WHITE STAR could have probably taken them all on.

actually i think delenn is one of the worst characters from B5...
Molari and G'kar are much more widespread and interesting in the show.
Their whole dispute, and how they act on each other is far more convincing and funny as delenn could ever be.
also i still think that delenn in Season 1 was more convincing than with that hair attached... (ya i know why she did that but that's just.... bah - can't tell ... ugly!)

I was always fond of the Minbari, and their sheer influence just eeks of "Don't Mess With Us." Even in their newer ships the Earth commanders ran away scared.

An Omega is just one of the earlier Earth Alliance destroyers on steroids. The tech isn't that advanced compared to what they used to have. Even the new really advanced tech destroyers (Warlocks? Can't remember the name) with some minor Whitestar tech got destroyed by Centauri ships later on in the story. A Sharlin would tear through those ships and their fighters wouldn't stand a chance against the Minbari fighters. It would be a turkey shoot. That's exactly why they left so quickly.

there was a 3 minbari sharlin warcruisers and whitestar ,two omegas are not match for that force,,but if there been only one sharlin and whitestar,combined fire from both omegas are more then enough to destroy sharlin,so basicly EA would win,but on cost of new war,

10 Omegas could not take out 1 War Cruiser they can't target the Ships. or did you forget they almost wipe out the humans with no lost to them but the one ship That was taken out which was dam lucky really. He had to think to take one out because they could not target they ships either.

It would be a much different confrontation ten years late as Earth spent no expense in acquiring more powerful weapons than they were able to use against the Minbari during the war. Not that the outcome would be different, just that the Minbari would suffer much greater losses

@Qugie Acutally the Minibari did suffer other losses when the landed on plantes and fough hand to hand and some earth Ships rammed right into the Minabri warships to take them down with them I seen if on the movie where it shows the Earth Minibari war

@Zagoreni Minbari technology is at least 1000 years ahead of human. They fought and beat the shadows at a point in time where Marco Polo discovered the route to China and Dschingis Khan threatened Eastern Europe.
No way they would win a battle against a Minbari fleet. Not in a ship against ship battle and I doubt the Minbari would fall for that fake distress call from a mined asteroid field trick again.....

@Zagoreni Disagree remeber Earth Ships cannot target Minibar Sharlin warships or fighters as teh have some kind of stealth technology that pervents their ships from targetting the ships. Hence one Sharlin warship and white star could still beat those to Omages warships

Say there was only one Sharlin class and the White Star, so the Earthforce ships felt they could engage them. Even if they won - which they wouldn't - killing Delenn would be a grave mistake. I believe it was said best:
"The Minbari are funny about thier leaders. You kill her, and they're libel to take it kind of personal."
Do you want a second Battle of the Line? Do you? Really? Kill another one of thier leaders and you'll find out.

I know that Sheridan and Delenn are good guys and all, but if I were a member of the Earthforce, the fact that B5 is defended by the Minbari would probably push me over to Clark's side.
