This suicide problem exists because many Japanese are not religious. God created us to worship him (praying, giving to charity, helping the weak, fasting, ect.) when you are not fulfilling your purpose in life you have nothing to live for. Hence people in poor countries that have God are happy while a rich modern country like Japan that is secular breeds unhappy people. Japanese people should turn to Islam and I know it would be a great benefit to Japan, God willing.

I heard and read a lot about suicide in Japan during my studies and it made this country even more unknown than it was before. The duality of life and death, what many poets and even people today think to see in a cherry blossom, seems to grasp this society in a different way then it does in western countries. I wonder how life will be in Tokyo, but I am certain that it won't break my spirit - break me. It will however affect and change me for sure.

Japanese culture is very distinct and different from the rest of the world. They have their own beliefs and should not be criticized for them.
