Actually, the *best* spot to farm CP is at the end of Chapter 13. The Wladislaus there gives 32k CP per battle, and so does the Jabberwocky/Bandersnatch combo. If you are smart enough to get the Growth Egg at some point before this (via Death), then you will get 64k per battle.
Of course, this is only available before you beat the game, so you can't use it to max out Stage 10. However, if you're going to do so later, then use this spot to max out *all* of Stage 9 and the max 999,999 reserves.
I've had my reserves maxed out since the end of Chapter 11 and was quite sad to learn that you don't get an expansion until post-game anyway. At least I can use the Sacrifices to rack up some gil, though.
@DarthFart94 theres an area to the north wheres theres like 5 long gui's, theres also a small hill beside them, just search all the map if you wanna be sure and you get a cutscene with them, carefull though, they are really tough at the beginning.
Some players are better off fighting the Megisto (can't spell the name very well) and Behemoth you always get pre-emptive strikes and the fight lasts for 2 seconds.
After battle just run up the hill past the save point then run back down the hill and the monsters respawn out of thin air, this worked for me both 360 and PS3 versions.
I'm on chapter 11 just after Vanille's eidolon battle and all i've done is the 2nd mission i think. I was wonderin if i complete the main story could i do the c'ieth stones afterwards or do i have to do them as i go along in the game? I tried to do mission 3 but it didnt show the enemy when i reached its destination? Please help :/
@ZelluS136 if you do it good you can do a battle in 33 seconds so 1 min battle and walk to the next is possible iI average 49secs now. The 2min is for starting person 1.8 mill per hour is achieveable
One of my favorite spots to grind is Mission #34. The enemy is a Tonberry who you can kill in 30 seconds if you Debuff him first. 15,000 CP (with "Growth Egg") + 7 Bomb Cores. Fight him 14 times in 30 minutes and you'll have 210,000 CP + 98 Bomb Cores useful for Upgrading. The Cieth Stone and Mark are not far apart so the enemy reappears without having to go through the hassle of saving and reloading. Try it!
you might also try using the rapid growth paradigm with fang, snow, and lightning. if you've leveled ur syn's then you can get most of the buffs before it turns prime including enfire (cactuar weakness) then just use either 2 com's and a sen, or 3 com's. doing it this way it usually takes about 44 seconds a fight for me.
You can also try going inside Mah'habara. There's one area near a dead end with about 6 Bombs spawning from the wall. They give out about 20k CP at 4 second cycle times (well for me that is) with growth egg. They're pretty easy considering you're probably farming CP in post game.
@ninjashiek8 to get cactuars you have to beat missions 11/12 i think then take a chocobo up on a rise somewhere in central GP. If im wrong let me know cuz its bee awhile an i wanna play it again now.
im trying to advance in the game and idk if i should cause idk if im able to comeback to this point...should i grind alot more then go? or just go and i can come back or something
@k1eee If you're talking about being able to come back to Gran Pulse, then yes, after you defeat Orphan (who is easy as hell btw) you can come back to Gran Pulse through a portal I believe.
@natsoy Mission 55: "Can't we all just get along?"
Mark: Neochu
Cie'th Stone location: Oerba - Deserted Schoolhouse (Roof)
Mark location: The Archylte Steppe - Aggra's Pasture
Class: A
Unlock Conditions: Defeat Barthandelus in Oerba and complete mission 14.
Reward: Growth Egg
Sec. Reward: Moonblossom Seed (x2)
I quoted this from the official FFXIII guide. If you seem to have trouble fighting him, using Death (equip Belladonna Wand) might be a gamble but can give you an easy victory.
@commander3zoz explore gran pulse eventually there will be a cutscene with him around the main body of pulse. after that they appear in random places. The growth is an item from a mission that will give you double cp.
@TheOfficalJory you need to go to the "Eastern Tors" area. Look for the circle of cieth stones, then (while facing the cliff) go left until you find an Adamantortoise in a path between two cliffs. Go past it (it's not hard) and follow follow the cliff around to the left. There is an Adamanchield blocking the way to some "steps" up the cliff, and I'm not sure if you need to kill it or not to get past. At the top, you'll get a scene with a cactaur. Now, cactaurs can be found like normal enemies.
actually it's best to go through the fault warrens a bunch of times. you can pull 100k with out the growth egg down a certain path. then go to the orotoises. can't say i didn't beat on these annoying cactus for a while though.
I kinda wish i stayed in the room where you find the sword guy who gives 32000 crystarium without egg =( but i moved on to clock the game instead =/ big mistake shoulda capped crystarium if thats even poss...
@SeWrath After learning how to kill the 4 toises in Archylte with the right set-up, you can easily earn 320,000 CP from them. That's with the Growth Egg, of course.
i find its easier to just kill the two big creatures fighting each other down the hill where he starts off at u get like 6.5k cp without the egg and u can kill them in about 10 secounds if you do it right because u can always pre-strike them then just walk up the hill and turn around and they respawn
i tried this out and it works wonders. the only thing i changed that worked better than this strategy is having lightning instead of snow, and instead of having fang a sentinel, having her also as a synergist. and using bravara and faithra on her and faithra on hope as well. just be careful cause lightning's provoke may not always work but you can still win the battle, it'll just take a bit longer. other than that, this place to farm is one of the best
@Firezword but if you went back up that ledge at 0:14, then that cactuar will keep respawing. btw thanks for grinding technique, i use the same thing you do, but use hope, lightning and fang
I'm so glad you posted this b/c ive seen soooo many vids saying that Admantoises are the best grinders. They are so wrong on many levels. This is the best grind spot in the entire game with CP Egg. I maxed my characters twice with this grind.(I beat the game twice)
@snoopy4life Its in Gran pulse but alot of this you need a pretty advanced Crystarium too kill so go on into Eden and get too Orphans cradle and take the portal from there back too Gran pulse and farm CP too get stronger ofc im not gonna do any of what i just said as farming in Orphans cradle is EASY
Might also be worth mentioning that to get this fight to end quicker it'd be a good idea to Libra the first to stages of the cactuar, as this will make hope cast Enfire on your party and make this fight much faster.
You need to mention that you already have the growth egg, because you're getting double the normal CP. I'm sure when players fight against the Cactuar Prime, without the growth egg, see that they only receive 15000 CP instead of 30000, they may be confused.
@myang245 The way I beat neochu was a combo of Energy and speed sashes for random instant chain. After that, have a sen keep the aggro while a med heals and you beat down the neochu. Kill seeds if he spews them
I never liked this route, hahaha i farmed all my crystarium with adamantortoises =D

30000 CP every 2 minutes. Hour has 60 minutes, then 60minutes/2minutes=30minutes(30 battles).

Go to school and learn so maths man.

i think the best way to get cp is to kill that group of six bombs in Mah'habara.
All you have to do is cast quake and finish off survivors, It takes like 10 seconds and you get 14000 cp if you have the growth egg.
Then just run away a little bit so they can respawn and repeat.
