Ireland won the EuroV so many times due to the fact that we weren't Britain, and didn't take part in WWII, then we had an immensely moving high quality song like this, and got second.
my friend you are in wrong. all votes those years were given day before final night, to avoid some unregular things. voting on final night was just tv show, but no one judges knew what was result of other votes. for me this is best song this year, along with france, joel ursu
This was the first Eurovision competition I watched. Sadly I remember the voting more than the music. But when Italy voted it gave Ireland, I think 8th place and France enough to move up with Ireland. Then they stop anwsering the host for a few minutes, audio problems of course. But then they gave their top points to a country that literaly doubled their total! Ireland got screwed and everytime I've ever watched it Italy isn't ready for the voting.
@erik6006 I have got a wonderful conspiracy theory about that, having to do with the impending Conductors' Strike of the 1990 festival. You'll have to wait for me to find the time to write Noel's bio for the website andtheconductoris.eu. You can already read about the strike in the bio of Stanko Selak, however.
I must have heard this song hundreds of times already and it still gives me goosebumps. Simply marvellous and better than Cutugno, although he had a good song as well.
should release this again... such a good song, saw them recently in waterfront hall , belfast and finnegans, kircubbin... sori but the years haven't been kind to poor liam
There has never been, and never will be, a better song in the Eurovision than this one. Its far too good for the shitty political non-talent contest it has turned into.
This song is pure musical magic, no dancing gays, no scantily clad bimbos, no great computer effect. Music at its purest.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This loss was the start of the eurovision song contest becoming a vote for your favourite country.....it has nothing to do with talent now.....ireland showed that last year....we are going to divide our country into 7 different mini countries and win again... eg.. bosnia...serbia...etc. etc etc.
Votes always had been influenced by your favourite country: Greece and Cyprus...Sweden, Norway and Denmark...Spain and Portugal...UK and Ireland. it's just more overt since televoting kicked in.
then again, Ireland and the UK never give the full 12 points, its normally 8 or 10. we still have our differences. and we only have one comrade, so many countries have so many!
That your problem that you dont have many friends. And as long as world will try to desintegrate Serbia in smaller states they will win every eurovision from that time XD
Public vote is good but also they need the jury vote. And when the songs are in equal position than jury should say the final word. But looking back when only the jury had the right to vote, than have been made some terrible mistakes.......
it seems the guy dont know the earth is more than just europe!
