I always found Barbara to be hypocritical in "Beyond" b/c she's entirely against Batman vigilantism but SHE was the one that was the most excited to be apart of it when it was first starting out. And she didn't even ask Bruce she just made herself Batgirl so for her to say that she didn't have a choice is just bull.

This series was great but I didn't like how Bruce ended up being alone; he had SO many women in his life he should have settled with one--like Selina. Wasn't fair to his character.

I think a lot of people disliked when Babs said she and Bruce had a romance. I thought she should be with Dick, plus he's at least 15 years older than Barbara. Not to mention his ward's ex-girlfriend and friend's daughter.

Actually, I try to forget about Old Barbara in Batman Beyond because she blamed Bruce for her becoming a Batgirl when she started that without any influence from Bruce, or anyone besides herself, at all. Plus she was always grumpy and talked about Bruce bad.

@Nightman221k i think most of that was because the series producers changed so much. they didn't really follow what had happened in the older series at all. whatever they thought would work best for the new series was what happened no matter the old stuff.

Good point. I think they use continuity flexibly from series to series. I actually like that they did it because the fans be flexible too. I really love the idea that she's Comissioner Gordon the 2nd but they made her seem bitter toward Batman for no good reason which made the good idea turn bad. I wouldd've rathered her become Oracle at some point since that was such a cool thing in the comics.

yes, that she split from batman so easily was kinda weird. it wasn't like when dick moved on, he had a few reasons to not like working with bruce anymore but if they had a reason for barbara to leave with bitterness they didn't show it very well. the whole batgirlXbatman thing is too weird since she did love dick and batman had all his other...ladies. :)

The Bruce and Barbara romance was just WRONG, and ruined my interest in the characters.

I absolutely agree with you. I don't know if I would go so far as to say Wendy and Captain Hook, and Padme and Obi-Wan isn't really *that* bad - but it certainly should've just remained a mentor/pupil relationship. Something to the extent of Roland Deschain and Susannah from the Dark Tower series, or Guiles and Buffy.

Wow so they like...ya know, did it? I mean Barbara and Bruce? Intense. I HATE that they treated Dicks and Barbaras relationship like it was nothing. You cant tain something like BatMan like that cuz it was in the same continuity and that means what they say does and thats what happend.
