Max Payne To Star Mark Wahlberg

For some messed up reason Mark is going to play Nathan Drake in Sony's Uncharted film. The guy from "Castle" apparantly wanted it, and although I haven't watched an episode he does look perfect. Shame film companies only want the best names, even if the actor isn't completely suitable for the role.

Michael Madsen should have been cast as MAX PAYNE..he has got the voice, however, aging - if they make a sequel...he will be badass..

Well, I've played MP1 & 2, and Wahlberg did a satisfactory job portraying Max in the flick. There were a LOT of game references in the movie, but unless you've played it you probably wouldn't really notice. I give this movie a passing grade for action and game-related "insider" scenes so it's good enough that I purchased TWO copies of the DVD for nostalgia's sake and many viewings. Thanks Mark, and thank you Megan for the chance for me to put my two-cents worth of comment here. :x

Look on Imdb boards and you'll will find a couple of shots of Walhberg and the movie set they are filming in toronto, and going by the photos there might be a subway scene check it out

Actually Timothy Gibbs is...he IS max payne, in the second game, he's the model for max :) but Wahlberg is still a good choice, i have faith in Max Payne

Try looking up Jon Hamm, he looks a lot like Max, and is a great actor as well. None of the guys people mention 'sound' like Max though. If there is one person who sounds almost exactly like Max, it's Kiefer Sutherland no doubt.

I think this movie will be dun within 2010.. I hope earlier and i really hope that they don't over act this so the movie will be super! Why i hope the movie will be nice.. Well. Yes! They're making a Max Payne movie! Though personally I'd prefer Michael Madsen for the role of Max, but whatever, as long as they hit the Mona Sax nail on the head we should be good. Wahlberg is more than capable for the role.

Wahlberg fits the role physically and has the kind of natural grumpy feel to him that's essential. I kinda missed the whole Payne period myself and didn't really understand the catch in it but as a true cross-genre addict - and a finnish gamer - I really hope the attempt pays off. It's going to take much more than endless bullet showers and slow-mo leaps, though.

nah, bad idea. max payne was ages ago - the makers of hitman have struck while the irons hot, the games have been alot more recent and the movie doesn't look too shabby.
